What's goood, degen gang! This one took waaaaay longer than expected, sorry to keep you waiting :) Part of the reason it took so long was life stuff, work, being horrible at editing, and trying and failing to find a way to fix the horrible looking light flicker in a lot of the footage. If anyone is good at cameras please help because I have no idea what I'm doing :] 5 more videos to come this season!!!!!! Hong Kong is next, and then back to Japan. Subscribe to be the first to see those videos!
I can't emphasise my appreciation at this video, and the sheer amount of research/detail that went into this (that's at least 100+ drinks?) - a small but much appreciated feature is how you listed each cocktail description verbatim from the respective bars' menus - as someone who wrote some of the menus with their custom fonts, I loved you including the strength indicators from MO Bar and ATLAS' iconic sans-serif typeface. It was also really cool to see all our bars and very familiar faces from an 'outsider' perspective (you're trade, so not that much of an outsider, but you get my point). Among the bars, I worked on ANTI:DOTE's cure-all menu (the latest one you tried) for R&D, copy and themes over months, and I'm glad you were taken care of by Marlon when you were there! Would love to share some top new bars (opened in the past 12 months) that would interest you when you come back to SG: 1. White Shades - multi-storey bar with starkly different concepts on every level (ground-floor highballs, sultry cocktail bar on level 2, a draft cocktail spot on the roof), founded by the co-founder of Stay Gold (who was also EO SG's youngest-ever head bartender). It's genuinely just an enjoyable experience on every level, though you might have to limit yourself to one drink a floor or make multiple visits haha. 2. Mixology Salon - the Singapore outpost of the Tokyo-famous MS that you covered earlier this year! I've been to both, and the main difference is some of the cycled cocktails, though the mainstays like the Gyokuro Martini and Sencha G&T are all here. Like you said for EO, this IS Mixology Salon. 3. Tamba - the first West African restaurant in Singapore (and probably the region) with an absolutely killer drinks menu, backed by a bar of >60% African spirits. It's also got arguably the best interior design of any F&B establishment in the past year, but that's a whole other story. The GM is an award-winning bartender who heads the beverage programming, and was from 28 HKS and the Curator in Manila. Highlight drink would be one that used a very high ester Mhoba rum. 4. Cat Bite Club - the agave/rice bar in Singapore, for all cocktails soju, mezcal, tequila and shochu. The founders are also incredibly experienced; the former ATLAS head bartender who also led the cocktail program at Atomix NYC. 5. Jungle Ballroom - imagine the high-energy of EO, in a hip hotel like the Mondrian, with an overarching theme of Southeast Asian spirits. Cocktail bar that turns into a big party spot later at night, it's led by the bar manager who brought MO Bar onto the 50 Best list, followed by their huge climb to #8 the next year. Interesting drinks with some unique flavours owing to the region's offerings. Let me know when you're coming back - I could give you more info on any new bars then!
Awesome comment and list, thanks for the recommendations :) I had a couple people recommend cat bite club and jungle ballroom a few days into my trip but just didn’t have enough time to fit it in 😭hopefully I’ll have a chance to go back soon!
@@valianes my pleasure! yeah, there are a ton of new and exceptional bars. Just went to another bar last night for your consideration that I'd overlooked - The Elephant Room. With refined Indian-flavoured cocktails, they've been around for a few years but just moved to sleek new digs right before BCB last year. Think they made their debut on Asia's 50 Best 2023 at the #60 spot.
We watched your previous video to get ideas for our trip earlier this year. Thanks for putting the time and effort into these! We thought Jigger and Pony was overrated (still liked it though). We LOVED Sago House.
Such a sick vid man! I’m going to Busan at the end of the month! Do you have the name of the new bar you mentioned the creator of Ssal opened up in Busan?
Bro you just googled cocktail bars in Singapore. What a joke
pin of shame lmfao

Atlas is so elegant looking! I would love to visit Singapore and partake at any of these bars though
Once again, I hit multiple times the like button. I love your videos! Thanks for your wonderful work. Full of details, fantastic description. Love it
Glad you managed to make it back. We're heading there in November this year! Can't wait for your recommendations in this video!
