A classic technique is to use keyboard mod to scale envelopes, mimicking what happens in acoustic instruments: in general, the higher the notes, the faster are attack and decay times. It can be useful to add a touch of realism. I remember that the DX7 even had a parameter for it, some others synths of that era too (if my memory serves me well). Great fan of your videos, keep up the good work!
Yeah, the most common use of key-tracking is on a filter to open it more for higher notes, or on some sort of EQ so, for example, it's always boosting or cutting the same harmonics of the fundamental pitch, regardless of which note you're playing.
I can't wait to try and do something dumb like using an inverse keyboard modulation on the pitch, so the higher you go, the lower the pitch settings gets 😂😂😂
Pigments is awesome, Serum is probably more affordable with more downloadable presets if that is what you prefer. Both have lots of sound design capabilities in a quality UI

thats right! speaking of scaling envelopes, using velocity to do that is also really cool, the harder you hit a key the faster the envelopes become
Impressive indeed!
Where's harmor to do that? haha
This is really awesome!
There's lots of cool stuff that can be done with the keyboard mod
aha, nice, i always searched for a way to devide low and high notes over the keyboard, thanx Jon
you're very welcome my man!! There are so many creative ways to use the keyboard mod
Very nice findings! Lots to explore!
Absolutely!!
Cool idea Jon 👍
We can do so many cool things with the keyboard mod, even put it in negative territory so the values are flipped O_O
A good use may be to change timbre as you go up the keyboard, for example, by changing a filter cutoff or EQ. I will try it later if I feel like it.

That's right! I really wish we we're able to modulate the gain knobs on the EQ module. Hopefully with an update they would add that.
Luckily lots of filters have key tracking built in, I do wish we could modulate the gain knobs of the EQ modules, that'd be really cool
Awesome
Hell yeah!

LOOOOOL you can absolutely make something like that haha
I am not much into sound design. Do you still think this synth is useful?
Absolutely! The UI is great and very straight forward if you need to adjust some presets and it sounds great!
