    as a non immigrant, from ontario canada, I have to say your videos are excellent. We ended up moving to a small community in nova scotia but are still settling in and renting so our options to move are still available. We had wanted a bit of a slower life than ontario and enjoy visiting moncton as we are only 1 hr away. My husband works at Atlantic windows and so he works in NB while living in NS. Thank you so much for your video content. We have lived in Toronto as well as peterborough |Ontario. We do not miss the traffic in ontario. I do however notice settling into NS has been a challenge. We are Canadian and from Ontario, yet we are treated differently as we are not tourists to NS. They seem concerned about change and maybe this is seen more in smaller communities but it definitely is not as friendly as we were led to believe. We were told it will take us 2 yrs to settle into NS and 5 yrs to be accepted by the locals. It is something people should be aware of.

    I was born and raised near Moncton, about 20 minutes away in Memramcook. I must say that you pretty much nailed it with this video. As a local I agree with you that Moncton would be the best choice, followed by Fredericton and then Saint John. Honestly though I would not even put Saint John in a list of places I would want to live. The pollution is bad because of the Irving factories. They have the highest cancer rates in the province and the country. I would put Miramichi ahead of Saint John.

      What are the biggest changes you have noticed over the years in Moncton?

    • @QuestCanada
      @QuestCanada  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@rps1689 Main reason why saint john is in the list is because of job opportunities.After Moncton saint john has most jobs.

    • @jacobleb420
      @jacobleb420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@QuestCanada I agree that Saint John has the most jobs after Moncton, but Jobs are not everything. For me the environment and the beauty of the area is more important.

    • @jacobleb420
      @jacobleb420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rps1689 Honestly the biggest change has been the diversification of races and cultures in the area. I was born in 1984, when I was growing up in the 1990s the population of Moncton was almost entirely caucasians of English or French descent. Today we have many Africans and Asians, and people from all over the world who move to Moncton. Overall, I would say that the changes have been positive to the economy and the culture of the city. The "feel" of the city has definitely changed, but that is probably due to changing times over the years. One negative issue that has gotten much worse in the last 25 years is hard drugs and homelessness. They used to only come out at night, and in small numbers. Now they operate in broad daylight in large numbers.

    While the Irving's do run the politics of New Brunswick and of Saint John, they do not run the port. Irving's operate much of the local rail traffic, but CPR and CNR railways have just made new investments here in the city. The port is run by the federal government and has just undergone a $2 Billlion dollar expansion.
    The biggest issue innSaint John is the backward politics, focused on demolishing old buildings instead of rehabilitating them or repurposing them. Several pieces of your information about Saint John are wrong. We have natural clouds, but yes there are heavy industries. The smell on the East side is a direct result of the Refinery, but the pulp mill and other insldustries really don't produce the smells that they used to. The mill was also recently expanded. Moncton has been described as a swamp in the woods, or built on mud flats, its location is key to its expansion, from the early days of the railway to the distribution centers now. Moncton is well positioned to continue to grow, but so is Saint John, if the government changes. Fredericton will never grow to be very large, as it lacks the geographic position, industrial base, diversity of companies and so forth. Moncron has a bad problem with vagrants, homeless and drug addicts. Moncton gets more snow in the winter than Saint John. Saint John gets more fog and damp weather in the summer. Fredericton is a university and government town, but you will encounter people who look down their nose at you there, especially in retail and food jobs or if they know you do not have a university degree. That said we do love Fredericton for its quiet nature and the river. Fredericton also gets a lot of snow in the winter and is always at a high risk of floods from the Saint John River. All three have strong and weak points, it depends on what you want. Saint John is positioned close to many things, beaches, mountains, farmland, river, ocean, etc all within a 30 minute drive. My favourite beaches and heritage buildings are in Saint John. Moncton has bigger events and entertainment and the casino. Fredericton has a more laid back feel and some nice trails.

    Moved into Moncton in 2019 from BC, there are no jobs here, its either health care or call centres, job options are very few. No foreign organization here, like the US or UK embassy or even a submission centre. One has to go to the nearest province. I am really not encouraged to stay here or raise a family. Honestly most of the people I have met especially at work are not nice,just a(very) few good men. It is in this province I had a full plate of bullying, harassment and racial profiling, yet the province needs immigrants.

      Your first mistake was going to Moncton. Nobody goes there, except to get to PEI or NS. Saint John is the place to be.
