I'm 43 years old. When I was a child I played it. Many emotions to see it. It took about 1 hour to load on the Atari 800 xl. We were going to leave my brother at school and the Atari did not turn off, to avoid that load. THANK YOU Regards from Chile
Played this on my Dad’s Commodore 64 ! Very fond memories of sitting there by the warmth of the wood burning stove trying to karate chop the ninja guy and climb up those weird tapestries lol
I was an addict to this, snokie, pole position, track and field, tempest, pacman, missle command, asteroids, kaboom and preppie which was a lot like frogger. Strip poker was fun too. There was a hack to get points and flip the score on this game. You go up the waterfall thing and slightly fall down on the sumo wrestler amassing points and repeat. My goal was to flip the score a few times before completing the game.
awesome! man, i way over complicated certain parts of the game when i was a kid - i always tried to fight the ninja and green poopypants. thank you for posting.
I'm impressed! I could eventually pass the game but only with much in the way of trial and error. Me and my siblings were caught forever on that one screen with the four lines of moving spikes until we worked out the timing.
Fun fact: Player 2 could play as the sumo guy. If you tried to cheat and have Sumo guy just stand there, after a couple of minutes the computer would take over.
I did that with my female cousin, but we got along because the game was made to make Bruce Lee OP. The Sumo and Ninja was meant to troll Bruce Lee from reaching his goal.
My favorite game of all times! And if you take a close look, you will se that Bruce Lee was in 8 colors!!! It should be only 4 colours.... I have no idea how they did it. Two sprites for Bruce, two sprites for Bolo Young and 4 missiles for one color ninja. However - how they managed to make sprite colors to be shown as two additional colors?? And how they managed to add another two colors to the background, even if we would be able to make sprites colors separate from graphics mode palette and numbers of colors? I'm watching and watching Bruce Lee again and again and I cannot understand how the trick works. Similar trick is used in International Karate and International Karate+... Anyone has any idea?? My guess is: 2 sprites are are used as one, 2 colour sprites, and 4 missiles as another, one colour sprite. But why sprites are using additional colors, not from the 4 colour palette? And where additional background 2 colors came from? Is this trick using famous antic 4 or 5 mode (the 9 colors one)? In that case all animations (except sprites. BTW. Can you use sprites in text modes?) and background is in fact text mode with 9 colors... Or, it's a mixed graphics and text modes, as we can clearly see first 8 pixels as text mode in 2 colors. Any ideas?
He leaves two other lanterns if I’m correct. Anyway, I remember I had atrocious problems with these, as sometimes I was jumping to catch them, and failing to get them for no clear reason. The only place where I clearly had the feeling of an unfair death. EDIT : Oh god how can I possibly have missed this until now, after all these decades, they are blinking and have to be taken once white !
@@NovHaknot true. I'm playing it right now, there's no difference in collecting if theyre flashing white or not. Can also see it numerous times during this playthrough.
Man, as a kid I spent so much time playing this and waiting for it to load from cassette tape. Thanks for the memories!
I downloaded it off a bbs....hoping my parents wouldn't pick up the phone and ruin the download....hahah...2 hours at 300 bps

I had this game on my Apple II computer. Even though I liked playing it, when I finally completed it, I was shocked at how short it was.
Excellent ... brings memories
As a kid I beat this game and was so happy, something was bugged with my Amiga computer so I never finished Shadow of the Beast... but I beat this!
I was addicted to this game.
Wow does that bring back memories!!
Well played, that man.

Best game ever.
And this also might be the easieast final boss in the history of video games (with exception of the one in Barbarians maybe)
Amazing gameplay!
я згоден на всі 100% !
In english or spanish please
I always got stuck on the screen before the boss. I never knew the boss was this close.
I beat this game on Atari a few times myself, back in the day.
Hoooo this is f*****g awesome
How can you call this 100% complete when you missed a lantern @ 2:09?!?
Unnecessary baggage.
This game should've been in the arcades as well.
Me and my dad played this game to death. Did you know that the second player can play as the green bloke? Co-op (of sorts)
Yup, coop or versus, what players want...😍
Juegazo que emulador de atari 800 xl existe en windows

Jayfive276 My brother and I would switch off who controls Bruce and the Sumo. We'd beat up the ninja fella.
With my small sis we did the same but we always ended fighting each others.
