I only just bought my first antigona. And while I do love it, I can see why many people don't. It is a very classic bag, but it also has a certain feeling, I guess. It is very structured, and at least to me, it feels very mature (I'm 48, so definitely not a youngun!)., if you know what I mean. It's just not a bag I picture younger people wearing. It very much feels very business, in most of its sizes and colourways. In the same way that a lot of people feel Ferragamo's styles feel like they're intended for more mature wearers. I feel the same way about Chanel, personally. I always look at Chanel and think...this is a bag that's supposed to be for my Granny. Or I look any pretty much anything from Off-White or Jacquemus and think, 'Man, I'm way too old to wear those bags.' On the point of the chunky chain bags...it doesn't even matter the bag brand, the chunky chains always look cheap to me. The rest of the bag might look amazing, but once the chain is on, I wonder if you bought it from aliexpress.
Every time people talk about that Antigona, I’m triggered lol. I really wanted that bag and then I hated it once I had it. Sold it back to Fashionphile and only got half my money back 😭.
Yes exactly! The chain just doesn't go with the aesthetic it looks like an add on almost. I can see what you're saying about the antigona having business vibes but I really feel like it does go with so much casual or more formal, but I think for me anytime I see the antigona I'm just trapped back in the mid early 2000s lololol.

I sold all my balenciaga bags… to fashionphile and yoogis closet… I loveeeed the bag. Sold it cos I’m not for the brand anymore. I like the older style versus the new one. My color was the city bag in small black w gold and the shoulder bag version in beige with rose gold. I still would be using them for travel and everyday if the controversy didn’t happen
I’m not a fan of MCM as a brand but the one bag I have from them is my favorite and most used bag. I dont care for the cognac brown color monogram but love the black (with grayish monogram) coated canvas. I have the Liz Shopper tote and love it. It’s similar to the LV neverfull but better in my opinion. And the pouch is a real purse that fits a lot unlike the neverfull. I even converted to to a cool crossbody. And you are right that MCM is a gateway to luxury. In 2020, I was over Michale Kors and wanted more than just Coach and Kate Spade. I bought my MCM bag and then later bought my first luxury bags within a few months (YSL & LV). But my MCM is still my most used. It was the best purchase.
I must say that I still love and wear my Chloé bags. They aren’t trendy anymore but they transitioned very well to my regular wardrobe because they do have a classic vibe to them. I have a Faye in the larger size (flat) and a Pixie.
still a very classic bag from the bag and people that know about bags would know that it's chloe as well. I actually like that they don't make it anymore bc then it makes it more special and a part of an era hehe

Great video! I bought the Chloe Faye in 2017 as my first luxury designer bag and I completely agree that the hype has passed (the bag is discontinued after all) but I still love it! I think it’s such a cute, light-weight, delicate bag and I don’t regret it at all. I also bought the City bag from the Gucci/Balenciaga Hacker Project in 2021 because I love the OG City bag shape so much and it is definitely one of my most loved bags in my wardrobe. It’s good to talk about past trends that you skipped or even the ones you jumped on because it’s all about figuring out what you like and what fits your personal style and lifestyle!

i actually think the mcm boston would suit you! i like their laidback style and its value for money considering they have great quality and service. youre right that its like an intro to luxury, but over time i do prefer it over the LV canvas

Lol! The off white seat belt paper clip bag. I used to see those all the time when I would go to k town or SGV. Honestly, these were all styles I eventually avoided.
I have the padded cassette but with the strap not the chain, it’s super light, I like it, but despite of its large size, it fits like a mini bag😅 the interior space is very small. I bought it for less than 2k, I would not buy it at the current prices, way too expensive.

Those Chloe bags were at their trendiest when I first got into luxury bags (around 2016). All I remember is people complaining at how both the design and the material where absolutely impractical for daily use lmfao

I love my Mini Antigonia, it's a forever piece for me. It still looks brand new, I've had it for yearrsss and use it all the time still. Fits a ton and I'm not careful with it at all. It's a great everyday bag that can also be dressed up by removing the strap and using the top handle. Highly recommend 👌
I initially wasn’t a fan with all the reviews of people saying it cracking HOWEVER NOW I WANT IT LOLOL. There’s more people i know that love and adore it and now it’s on my wishlist 😭😂😭
The Givenchy Antigona was my first ever luxury handbag. I got it in the small size and really loved it at first. But I soon realized that I’m much more of a mini or nano sized handbag girl, and so the Antigona was just too big for me personally. I ended up selling it and got the Gucci mini Dionysus. As for Chloe bags, I absolutely remember the “Faye” and how saturated it was…every TH-camr and influencer I followed had that bag. I actually really liked it and almost bought one, but never got it in the end. I really love the style of Chole bags, but yeah, it just turns me off when EVERYONE has it!! That seems to happen a lot with their bags. The one Chloe bag I do have is the “Roy” bag and I think it was one of their less popular styles. I go back and forth on whether I want to keep it or sell it, but I’m sure the resell on it is terrible, so I think that’s why I’m still holding onto it for now. 🤷🏻♀️🙈😂
The old Bals weighed a ton but could also hold a ton. I had many around 2008. Eventually sold all but all were well loved at that point. I prefer the MCM medium tote to my LV Neverfull MM. It doesn’t covert to a purse as well as the LV when folded in but when fully open it looks better than the NF IMO. I would love the brown in large. My medium is white. I have the Antigona tote which wasn’t a well known bag but I still get compliments when I use it. It’s very floppy though and needs a bag shaper. Mine is black with a floral print. The mini Pandoras remain old faves, such an easy bag to wear and goes with my style well. Also the perfect length (I’m short).
I was just raving about my MCM tote too. The sizable pouch that it comes with is what really makes me like it better than the Neverfull. I’ve converted mine to a really cool crossbody.
That Chloe bag seems like the perfect bohemian chic bag. I can see it being popular during the heyday of that trend. I’m definitely into the mini/nano bag trend. I blame Cassie Thorpe and Fendi.
