I have a lightning app on my Samsung S6 and it works great. The photos are not professional quality but they still look good, especially if you're an Average Joe photographer like myself. The nice thing about using your phone for taking storm pics is you don't hafta wait till you have access to your computer to load them up via SD card and considering the quality of the photos that most high-end phones produce nowadays, what for??? You can view your photos immediately with a phone camera. Also, I've been on two storm trips and the only problem I have with them is the fact that they're on a scheduled timeline, so they can be a very expensive roll of the dice as far as getting a tornado goes.

Find (on google) your local National Weather Service Office. On their website find out when they offer free SKYWARN training. Its a 2 hour free class.
Then download "GR2Analyst" on a PC (it is basically radar) and learn how to read doppler radar. Specifically you want to learn about storm relative velocity and hook echoes to find tornadoes quickly. comment on my channel and ill reply and quide you if you need.

@@edwin3928ohd Woahhhhh there! I'd first suggest looking into the fundamentals of meteorology and surrounding yourself with weather enthusiasts first. There is loads to learn and you need experience in the field for years before you can chase by yourself safely.

@@atlas8447 It does not take years to chase safely. You may be a slow learner.

@@edwin3928ohd I can assure you I'm a pretty quick learner, and you are right, it does not take years to learn *how* to chase safely. It takes years of experience to actually put that in practice every time, and when your life is on the line (even though usually it is pretty safe) it's best to travel with someone more experienced
