This is amazing info, I have listened 2.5 times already and I take more from it every time❤️ I would love to find information with experience working with children with disabilities and communication differences, where the inspiration of inquiry is not always doable in the same way, and complex concepts and ideas such as “where do bees come from, how do they make honey,” or even understanding that they make honey is a level of understanding they have not yet reached while their exploration and physical abilities are that of a child who without learning disabilities or communication differences would. I obviously don’t want to limit him, but I also feel it could be limiting to explore topics and exploration in a way that is not fit or appropriate to his specific needs or developmental level which is far different from each category across the board.
And although we do have extensive info with therapy, adapting an alternative learning approach that is not mainstream or common knowledge is difficult with such little info.
I would love to know more about how to foster my sons learning and creativity and play to the same level of appropriateness as I have been able to with my son who’s delays are not as severe, but some experiences or guidance would be really insightful!

Thanks for that very thoughtful example conversation about bees and how it can lead to further ideas. I thought that really brought home the main message of the entire video.

My children are advanced for their ages. They found the Reggio Emilia approach very boring.

I asked the same question and basically best way is to go to Reggio Emilia, Italy. Wanna put together a group for professional development travel 😅 I joke to my coteachers and admin thay we ought to go there for PD. Also, I think there is a masters degree offered that concentrates on RE approach. If you google it I think it’s University of Colorado.

This is the 3rd time I'm watching this video, don't know who's the speaker but she had "that" ability to transmit the message. Does somebody know her? I'd love to hear more of her workshop. Thank you in advance!

Very very good explanation what the Reggio approach is all about. I have started a new pre-school in Sweden for children 1-5 years old and we work from the Reggio Emilia approach/philosophy. I truley believe that this create a pre-school and education with high quality! A high quality for the children to be a member of the surronding society and be a human being that is worth listening to.

I loved this. Very simple and clear. I was wondering if you could speak more about open ended questioning. Giving us more examples that can be specifically used in a Reggio inspired Approach. I think it is really easy to get too excited with the children and not hold back. This is when the questioning processes becomes a ‘make or break’ scenario and the real direction of the children’s perspectives/thoughts and ideas can be steamrolled over or lost. I would love to be better at questioning.

It sounds to me like this Loris dude just plagiarized the work of Maria Montessori. Let's not give credit to yet another man for stealing the work of a brilliant Woman and calling it his own.
With that said..... You sound like a brilliant teacher and I LOVE your approach to being with young children. Thank you.
