Not sure about what year the screams started…..but it is funny to watch! Try the One Night Only version…..Barry just nods his head like okay enough now, you girls😂!
' Fanny ' is one of the best bee gees tracks. The brothers show off the entire song and midway thru the song you will be singing along with the song like many of the others who have reacted to it. A true masterpiece by this group.
@@eggy1962 I always thought it strange they would call and release the song as that, given that they are British themselves. Yes, I am aware that they say they wrote it about one of the 'housekeepers' in the apartment they were temporarily staying at while making the album. Call me cynical, but I don't really buy that story. I think this was them being subtly naughty. That cover story allowing them to get away with it.
This is fairly early BeeGees. Their R&B roots come through strong here. They weren't always a disco band. In fact, their disco period was a brief detour.
Absolutely love the Bee Gees my sister used to go out with Barry's son a while ago. What an absolutely wonderful family they have. Rip Andy, Robin and Maurice thanks for giving the world your unbelievable talent 🙏
You said something very true... No one can, even tho they might be sympathetic to your pain, Feel the Loneliness and hurt of a heart so badly broken that it could take forever to heal and heal properly. They say time heals everything... Not True... Time heals Nothing, it just helps you cope with the pain and the hurt to 'subside' little by little but the scars will remain (depending on the person) until you give your Love again to someone who can nurture it back to health. My heart was broken so badly 27 years ago that I actually had two heart attacks even thou I was in a perfect state of health. Somehow your Heart Resents and Reciprocates the deep feeling of Loss and you can carry that for an Eternity... Mine has the Scars to prove that. Thank you for your beautiful Reaction and Review of our precious music.
I think the most emotional thing I've seen from The Bee Gees is from the "One Night Only" film when they sing "Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away)." It's a tribute to their late brother Andy. There's a video clip of the song on TH-cam.
This song was one of their early hits, if not their first big hit. The song opens with Robin singing by himself, and then Barry and Maurice join in. Barry, who was the oldest sibling, after the death of Maurice and Robin, stopped performing in public. I saw a video of him as a special guest at a concert, and Barry did this song, singing the intro that Robin would always do. He broke down and stopped singing where they would all join in. The band kept playing and the audience picked up the slack, singing the song while Barry composed himself in the next 10 seconds or so, and then started singing again. He had tears in his eyes, and it effected me too, as the Bee Gees were just making their mark, as I was graduating high school. They were great talents, and unique in their music.
Thanks for playing some old school Bee Gees, they had a tremendous pop rock career with tons of great songs in the 60s to mid 70s, before the disco era. Some prefer that, I like the song writing from the earlier period. They sound great in any event and thanks for giving them another listen. Try To Love Somebody Holiday, I Started a Joke and Massachusetts. Also, you look good as always, nice, positive energy. Enjoy! 😎
There's a lot more to the BeeGees then their GREAT dance songs! The Disco period was only from 1975 to 1980, and the BeeGees started making albums in 1967, and their last studio album was made in 2001! The RABBIT HOLE is very deep!!
Great song from early Bee Gees (1971). The Bee Gees were superstars twice .. once in the late 60s into the 70s and then again in the mid to late 70s during the disco era. Robin sings the first verse with his distictive voice then Barry finishes the reset of the song.
When I walked the floor with my infant daughter back in 1989, night after night I would softly "da da da" the melody of the verses (not the breathy chorus) in her ear. It's one of the most uniquely beautiful extended note sequences in all of music. The lyrics are okay, but this song is much more about the feeling it conveys, in my opinion. When she was about 30, I had her listen to the song, then asked her if she knew it. She said it was familiar, but she didn't know why. When I revealed its special relevance to her, she really choked up.
I wish people would send you the proper versions of things they request. So many times you’re listening to alternate versions or not the polished songs and you are missing out.
They wrote this song after the group broke up then got back together. Barry was heartbroken and started writing this song and asked Robin if he would like to help him finish it. It has a special meaning for all of us Bee Gees fans.
This is an underrated hit by the Brothers Gibb mainly because of the massive success that followed in the 7o's. For further proof of their greatness the tracks LOVE SO RIGHT, NIGHTS ON BROADWAY, and FANNY BE TENDER (WITH MY LOVE) show versatility and the poetry of words to music that mark their best work. It has been mentioned that the Reverend Al Green gives a soulful rendition of this song live that leave you silent with your reverential thoughts.
From that long ago, summer of '71 .-----------it fit perfectly in my life, at the time, so I took this song very personally. -------Gorgeous Bee Gees harmony. --------------------MJL< 75 y/o
"Run to Me" is another early period BeeGees song you can check out; it's one of my favorites. I prefer the harmonies in "Run to Me" over those in "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart." Not to say the latter are bad, just my preference.
@@george217 You got me on a technicality. They were around in the '60s for sure, but to me everything was early period up until "Main Course." All the songs I heard before that album were in the same stylistic vein for the most part; "Main Course" was a real departure from the earlier lush ballads and orchestration.
You’re right, it is a good song. Bee Gees are one of my favourites; they’re brilliant. Al Green, though, does a fantastic version of How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. He’s certainly worth a reaction or three.
The way to mend your broken heart is to find another woman… have a kid and open up all your love for that child. You don’t know what love is u til you have a child.. I was 56 before I figured that out.. don’t wait as long as I did.
This is original Bee Gees. Before they were 1970s superstars. I'm dating my age, but this is the group I knew before Disco. You want to hear something more upbeat, listen to Nights On Broadway. It's very a powerful vocal performance.
"You have to go through it yourself..." How true. And yet through those times hopefully we grow in compassion and understanding for others going through it.
I know about that because many years ago my wife and daughter were both killed by a drunk driver. And as hard as it it was, I had to learn how to compartmentalize my emotions. So for the past ten years I've been spending my time speaking to college students about this and about texting and driving. I always hope that if what I'm doing saves just one life, it was worth it.
My heart was broken 40 years ago and confidence taken at the same time, never did recover, now in my 60's and still alone and single, I wish i had known how to mend a broken heart years ago, I just got used to being alone and lonely, someone lost out on a whole lot of good loving.
This is "classic" Bee Gees before the disco portion of their careers skyrocketed with Saturday Night Fever & Staying Alive, etc., etc....Al Green also did a beautiful cover of this song as well, you may want to check it out too!!!

Good choice by the Bee Gees. For another reaction, I suggest "Strange Young Girls" by The Mamas and the Papas. It's an enchanting song from their self-titled album of 1966.
A song that pierces your heart and soul Very thought provoking and sentimental Let me suggest a song by the Rolling Stones Time Waits For No One Goodbye!
Check out Lonely Days, was written on the same day. Both were written after a short breakup of the band and about how much they missed each other...being brothers and all. Another great song released soon after was Run To me. Try Lonely Days and Run to me, both great songs.

Keep on rocking!!
