The film was inspired by a real person who was a famous Thai musician in Thailand in the past. His title was Luang Pradit Pairoh, which was a noble title. His real name is Sorn. Silpabanleng. He composed many famous original Thai songs and the old man in this video is him.

The one playing piano is the son of the Thai musician grandmaster. He was first nervous when his father found out he had bought a piano into the house but it turned out his father just played along with it. Just beautiful it is.

While the teacher's son brought the piano to the house and tried to play the piano test. The teacher immediately listened to his son play the piano. He told his son, "Wait! Before..." After that, the teacher walked to the xylophone. Picked up the xylophone and said to his son, "Let's try again!"
The sound of the piano chords began to play again. As the piano sound progresses Kru Sorn then played 'Lao Duang Duean' song inserted into the piano melody of 'My Blue Heaven' played by his son. which no one would have thought that it would play together so harmoniously

When the movie was released, there were so few people watching it that it was almost got removed from the cinema. But after people talk about this movie on one of the forums in Thailand Makes This movie therefore became a trend. And it became one of the best movies ever.
1:16 He bought a second hand piano from Australia (He was afraid his father would blame him for buying foreign instruments. because his father was a Thai music teacher.). His father asked to play for him. He said that he had just transported the sound to be distorted. His father said give it a try and you won't see any damage here.

My father is a man who wears glasses and played piano in the movie . this movie has been made since 2007 ( since father was 35 until now he is going to be 54 in October this year ) Since then , hardly any Thai film has been able to produce a film that has as good a reference to history and musical knowledge in Thailand as this one . Both the uniqueness of respect for Thai music teachers through teacher worship ceremonies , the influence of music on Thai society at that time or the content of music related to various politics . Hello..Which instrument sound do you prefer, electone or xylophone? For me, I like to listen to instrumental music played with Thai instruments.
I like most of them. Xylophone sounds so cool though 😊👍
To me, this movie has a much more important message than just showing the beauty of Thai traditional music. The movie took place soon after Thailand had changed to a democratic form of governing. A newly elected prime minister wanted to modernize Thailand by adapting western cultures. He encouraged Thai people, among other things, to dress and socialize like Europeans. He went so far as to forbid people from playing Thai traditional music and dance in public or they’d be arrested. The Thai music master in the movie passively resisted this government policy. There’s one scene in the movie that he emotionally arguing against a high ranking police official by saying “how can we forget our roots for the sake of modernization” (or something like that, I can’t remember exactly”). At the end he died while playing one of his beautiful songs that he composed, namely “แสนคำนึง (Sean kumneung), a song he’d written in protest of the government intervention.
Fortunately, the traditional performing arts and cultures in general, survived the days and as we can see today have become valuable and unique assets and identity that the Thai people can be proud of. But still, the struggles to protect and preserve the unique traditions and cultures continue onto today.
