I also agree about feeling the overstimulatedness in playing newer games, feels like the game is constantly trying to cling for my attention, even though I prefer the simpler, but still action packed games over the overstimulating ones.

This is an interesting topic, your point about the pacing change overtime as well as the generational difference in the targeted audience was a novel idea to me.
I also want to share two thoughts I had while watching. Teamwork is a significant factor that also plays into the equation of pacing. Battlefield, Apex, and The Finals all include aspects of reviving teammates and/or healing teammates. To an extent this subtly pushes players to be more mindful of where their teammates are or at least lengthens the avg lifetime. Thus, if you’re paying attention to where your teammates are because you need health or want to be revived quickly, you’ll likely slow down your play style. Call of duty in contrast is more so the avg sum of the individual skill levels of opposing team members. Faster play is supported here since where teammates are and/or how they can be supported likely is not a thought had while playing.
Lastly, I think you should refine the video title to better reflect the specific genre of FPS’ you’re discussing. I quickly thoguht that Arma, squad, hell let loose, etc. would be an easy alternative to your dilemma with COD. But in the last chapter I realized that those styles of shooters were not the focus of this video.
Again great talking points within a well polished and organized video.

Thanks! You’re right about the revive/healing aspect for sure. I kinda touched on it with the sticking together bit in The Finals section, but It wouldn’t have hurt to go a little deeper. I also couldn’t really find a way to really get specific with the title without it getting too long or being too much to catch people’s attention. I also haven’t played arma or squad lol. The closest thing for me would be tarkov
