This is a good example of comedy writing that takes us to a climax that we never expected at all. Sheldon's haughty dismissal of the writer's idea is just hilarious. And he's so relaxed, even though he gets no closure after all his toil and deception on the phone calls he made.

I don't think they're trying. It's just what happened. They should've taken the show in it's own direction, instead of following the typical formula of people getting relationships and all that.

Actually, people make up episodes and endings for shows all the time. It’s called fan fiction and I think it’s underrated. It’s a more impressive art form than people think.
You know what? I'm kinda glad the show was cancelled. Because had it continued, there is a non insignificant chance of Dr Rosen turning out to be dead and that's not something I can be expected to emotionally recover from.
Buffy did indeed continue as a comic book and even though the comics aren't half bad, it wasn't really necessary. Buffy The Vampire Slayer had a pretty satisfactory ending on TV. The whole Turok-Han vampire storyline was rushed and felt a bit wonky, but they did manage for the most part to stick the landing. I consider the comics a welcome gift from the creators who chose to keep it going. I appreciate it, but I didn't really need it to help give me closure. The show did that just fine. If anything, it was Angel that needed to continue in some form or another, as that show did end on a cliffhanger, which was then resolved by the comics.
Firefly did a movie to wrap things up, yes.....but it didn't come out until 2 years later. You'll just have to wait 2 years for the Alphas movie.....and shortly after that the series won't be available on dvd anymore. Then you can make another phone call.

let's see Stargate SG1 canceled with millions of annual viewers same happened to Stargate Atlantis. Warehouse 13, Sanctuary, Firefly, and those are just a few the only thing consistent with the SYFY network is them canceling series with dedicated fan bases with little to no reason or warning. There is a new series on Syfy starting in January that looks good but I figure I will give it a couple years then binge watch all the season's in one long couple weeks after they cancel it.Because if its good they will cancel it.

HOWEVER!...When things are lost on a cliffhanger old fans often return because they are mad and current fans further outraged. This causes other networks and streaming media to become aware of the show. IE Lucifer .
