Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could th-cam.com/users/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

Noah's resolution for 2022 is to keep a scale in every mobile vehicle and strap one to a combo so he'll remember, that way people won't think he's exaggerating about the size of those big fish.

New angler..I live in KC, MO...fish mostly neighborhood ponds with almost zero cover..some close to shoreline grasses...daytime air temps around 50 now...what is going to catch me some fish...been striking out lately OR...is the season over til spring?..BTW...I have 3 of your combos..

Hey KTBTV, im still pretty fresh to fishing. When fishing a Texas rig, when do know when its time to hook set? I went out today and got some bites, I missed them because I tried to Hookset too early or way to late. Thank you in advanced!
I'm 13 but I've been fishing since I was three so I can help you, it definitely varies and sometimes you will miss the fish no matter what but one of the most obvious signs is when you see the fish is running with it and feel some weight, for ex the the line is moving by itself that is the most obvious sign ever to set the hook sometimes it will just keep biting it, situation and in that situation it is likely you won't catch it tho wait around 5 seconds then set it, you will eventually learn alot but good luck and catch some for me
So for me, whenever i feel a defininte bass bite, i go set the hook about 1 second later
don't wanna be too slow becasue the bass could spit it or too slow because the bass could miss it.

@@ahellicopter1396 if you see it running wait like 1 second and that is what usually happens, but in that more rare situation they aren't usually fully committed so you have to wait or it doesn't eat it
