I absolutely adore this child and want to support her in whatever she does. Amazing storytelling. From the very beginning Nahidas story just hit different and made me feel so much heartache. She is such a brilliantly well written character.
I think Nahida just appears to be the most active archons working for her people because we got to directly witness her at work. Zhongli worked for thousands of years for the benefit of Liyue, we just didn't get to see any of it.
When the Traveler tries to break the barrier in Nahida’s realm of consciousness, they are using anemo. And what does anemo represent? Freedom. Talk about symbolism.
Abandoned by his mother, Betrayed by his smithing mentor, Having outlived his child companion, Treated like a mere experimental subject by his doctor, Stripped away of his godhood and first follower, Now a shackled being and pet of Nahida. In the end, Scara just wanted an identity that is more than just an empty disgarded puppet that somehow gained a sense of self. I hope his therapist Nahida can fix this in the upcoming patch.

It is sad but I think it was also a bit necessary for her character. Prior to that happening the only gods anyone ever mentioned was King Deshret and Rukkhadevata. Nahida was NEVER mentioned by ANYONE. She's the only god in Sumeru and the only one constantly ignore and never considered. Even after everything she would still be compared to Rukkhadevata by others (and likely even by herself). For Nahida and Sumeru's growth, this NEEDED to happen.
The fist thing I thought after the scara fight was “this is going to destroy Lorie”. I have being waiting for your reaction and it did not disappointed
When it comes to Scaramouche's defeat I think the reason it was so abruptly moved on from was to emphasize not only the immense importance that the cleansing of Irminsul's contamination was but also to show that in grand scheme of things Scaramouche's health and safety were not of the upmost concern to Nahida, the Traveler, and Paimon. It feels cruel and the scene were Nahida takes back the electro gnosis and Scaramouche's VA stellar performance during it really made me, a Scaramouche despiser, feel some level of sympathy and pity for him. In the context of everything he was a part of that hurt other people when his worldview was based on three misunderstandings on his part it felt almost right to me that his fall was glossed over since why would you care to understand deeper the perspective of another when they themselves glossed over the lives and feelings of others for their own self satisfaction. Scaramouche is a very good character. He's the kind of character that you love to hate but he also strikes that very careful balance of someone you care for because of his tragic ignorance. If he had known the reasoning behind Ei's release of him, understood the actions of his friend in "rejecting" him, and understood that natural mortality is a part of the human experience then maybe he would've turned out a more balanced and reasonable person. The information he was given, the context it was presented to him in, and his subsequent interpretations lead him down the path that he walked throughout the story. Of course, just because he has a sad backstory doesn't excuse him of everything he's done but at the same time you can't help but get the "parental figure" feelings with him; it's like watching your child do something stupid and wanting to correct their behaviour for their own sake.
I agree with you as someone who likes Scaramouche as a character. Also, if you think about it, Nahida taking away the Gnosis is also for his sake. By no longer having the Gnosis (which he considered his heart), and now being in a coma, he can now learn that showing your feelings doesn't make you weak, and also hopefully learn that even though he was created as a vessel for the Gnosis, he doesn't need the Gnosis in order to feel worthy.
With the new information we were given, it honestly becomes much more tragic. Like he still misunderstood Ei and the Child, but the situation with Niwa, he was completely and utterly tricked and made to think the man who raised him like a son saw him as expendable.
@@hadrianhexe9603 Did anyone ever doubt Scaramouche's backstory would be incredibly tragic except for _maybe_ back in 1.1? I genuinely think that if Lord Rukkhadevata wasn't corrupted by the forbidden knowledge and had managed to stay alive after what happened 500 years ago, she would've journeyed all the way to Inazuma and comfort Ei with Makoto's passing. Makoto brought Ei in an Archons' gathering anyway so they could've been at least acquaintances after all those meetings. And Sumeru's quests are all about acceptance of death and joy for rebirth after all, one thing that could've at least soothed Ei's pain.
The encounter with Grand Sage Azar is such a great build up of tension. I really believed that Alhaitham actually betrayed the plan and was secretly working for the Akademiya and the scene kept flip-flopping who was ahead.
The biggest highlight of this from the stream was lorie sitting quiet for like 10 mins since no one caught scaramouche. Let’s be real lorie he had that coming 😢😅 But overall the archon quest was a solid 10/10 😊😊😊😊
@@LorieMegistus I felt consuled that Nahida is taking care of him now as she said at the very end. I assume she knew he wouldn't die and let him fall to knock him out, otherwise he would try to murder her to get the gnosis... all part of her wisdom? She did mention that she understands some things about him that he has yet to discover.
Definitely, but I think the utter dethroning and humiliation, him being forced to reconcile with the fact that his fate is not tied to a gnosis, will all be part of his personal "reset" to discover who he is independent to his original purpose. I think Mihoyo crushing him as much as they did in this story is a blessing in disguise for him.

One of the most interesting parts from this archon quest is that when you forget greater lord, the world ACTUALLY forgets her. Nahidas details are changed and many other sources of the greater lord is changed.
it goes even deeper where mentions of rukkhadevata are removed from the aranyaka questline as well. "the forest will remember" cannot apply here since the forest removed her :(
If the world tree can't record information about "US" the Traveler, than most likely when it comes time to leave Teyvat, everyone will forget us and our existence will be replaced with another figure or be obscured/become fuzzy.
I have already watched your Twitch stream but I just want to say it's always been fun watching your reactions to the Archon Quests. I love how you empathize with the characters. As an emotional person myself, I laughed and cried with you while experiencing the final act again.
One little detail, when we see Tighnari and Dottore talking, Dottore's voice is a little different then when he talks with Nahida. If we paid attention, we could figure it out before that it was different segments
Lorie in battle: ,,I'm not paying attention, what happened?" Yep we already noticed you completely ignored the easy way and not using nahidas helping drone. Rather even letting ayaka dieing 😂

Dottore said his homeland never appreciate his invention, so isn't that mean he help the previous archon created Akasha terminal and this guy is that old
I personally believe that the four descenders are 1. The heavenly principles (a little confused about this, is the heavenly principles a person or a title, we know that the Primordial one is the elder god who first came to teyvat so is the unknown god also the primordial one?) 2. Either someone we’ve never met or the leader of the abyss 3. Alice, she is able to freely travel worlds and has given information to the people of teyvat about other worlds (the word “idol” for Barbara and the dodoco telephone for Klee) 4. And obviously the MC Nahida specifically said that the abyssal twins fate changed near the end of their journey, clearly something happened that was able to completely change the abyssal twins perspective. I have a theory though, if the abyssal twin went on the same Journey as us (Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, then Snezhnaya) then does that mean that the Tsaritsa told them something? All of the harbingers seem to have extensive knowledge that not even gods know of, and the Tsaritsa is their leader who just so happened to change completely after the Cataclysm. Perhaps she directly saw the “truth of teyvat” and it destroyed her. She then told the abyssal twin and that’s when their fate changed, and they started working with the abyss. I also believe that Istaroth is the one who is purposely obscuring their fate, she has a duty as a shade of the primordial one to keep balance and maybe the abyssal twin broke that balance. This part is strictly a theory though.
to add on to your hypothesis, can we say that the primordial one is also a descender? let's put it in a puppet show the characters in the puppet show ( people of tevyat) but as the god, we are actually outside controlling them, we are not in the same world as them
@@ahteng3739 I definitely agree. I think we’ve been led astray though. At the beginning of the game, we come into contact with the heavenly principles. We initially thought that she was a god of Celestia but I’m not too sure about that anymore. In the manga, Venti talks about the gods of Celestia and the shadows that are shown are almost normal, kind of like the archons in their everyday suits. That leads me to believe that the unknown god is actually the primordial one. She is extremely different and she has powers not of this world. We know that the primordial one was the first person to come to teyvat. So maybe the unknown god is the primordial one.
@@ahteng3739 Overthrown by the second who came, though the SWC did form Celestia and it’s gods (I’m pretty sure, it’s been a awhile since I’ve read the Enkanomiya books)

Makoto brought Ei in an Archons' gathering anyway so they could've been at least acquaintances after all those meetings. And Sumeru's quests are all about acceptance of death and joy for rebirth after all, one thing that could've at least soothed Ei's pain.
"she shared this on twitter and it went viral" LOL
twitter would be a dangerous place for her iykyk
The encounter with Grand Sage Azar is such a great build up of tension. I really believed that Alhaitham actually betrayed the plan and was secretly working for the Akademiya and the scene kept flip-flopping who was ahead.
The way she looked at Nahida fell like a mother would when her children became successful man. 😭😭😭😭
R.I.P Rukkhadevata
well in practice is just another version of her in endless cycle but yeah Nahida just needs to believe in self
@@alanea5860 no, she's another branch so still that part is dedge dedge, no copium bro
Who?
After playing the quest, I'm still amazed by Tighnaris balls. He knows he stands no chance against Dottore and still shit talks him.
I laughed too hard at “Not another Kamisato!” when Ayaka fell lmaoooo
The biggest highlight of this from the stream was lorie sitting quiet for like 10 mins since no one caught scaramouche. Let’s be real lorie he had that coming 😢😅
But overall the archon quest was a solid 10/10 😊😊😊😊
I was going through the stages of grief LMAO
@@VaioletteWestover yes, I felt much better at the end after you ask about him! I really love that she’s taking care of him and really can’t wait to see what comes from that in future story. ☺️
This is probably the best Archon Quest in Genshin Impact, so many though moments but can we talk about the LORE we got? OMFG, THIS IS THE THING I LOVE TO SEE😳🔥
i love scaramouche but it’s *hilarious* to me how they just moved on and didn’t bother checking if his skull was still intact after that fall. they really pulled an “oh no… anyway-” 😭 😭
edit: i know he’s a puppet. it’s just hilarious to think of 😶
Scaramouche is a puppet, not a human. Once a puppet that is broken can always be repair back.
it really was like that 😭
I don't think Ei would've made a puppet so fragile that a fall from that height would've cracked his skull~
@@MiyashiruX exactly
i know. but it’s still hilarious to think of.
"the forest will remember" cannot apply here since the forest removed her :(
@@Ivy-jq6di well, the "forest" on Rukkhadevata's case is the Traveler
I laughed so hard each time you took a screenshot of Scaramouche and gave it a silly title x'DDDD
Well, we now know why the dull blade is dull, constantly grinding through the floor as breaks for the traveler
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSS, gonna watch later after work 💜
yaaay enjoy!!!
@@LorieMegistus I most definitely willl, I hope you enjoyed the story as much as I did
Missed the stream but excited for this video!
Never thought I'd literally stay for almost 4 hours
Now he is under Auntie Kusanali's care. 🌸❤️
seing nahida cri brokes my heart . i really love your playthrough ! stay safe and hydrated ~
If the world tree can't record information about "US" the Traveler, than most likely when it comes time to leave Teyvat, everyone will forget us and our existence will be replaced with another figure or be obscured/become fuzzy.
As much as he is cocky, and sometimes a jerk, Alhaitham is indeed very smart to come up with a plan with so many moving parts.
I adore him
I have already watched your Twitch stream but I just want to say it's always been fun watching your reactions to the Archon Quests. I love how you empathize with the characters. As an emotional person myself, I laughed and cried with you while experiencing the final act again.
Destroying that little twerp every week seems like much earned therapy.
Scaramouche: Someone like that is qualified to become my first follower.
Lorie: *It should've been me not her! It's not fair!*
The lore drop at the end was actually so shocking
Rukkhadevata and Kusanali is derived from same nature yet they aren't the same.. if Rukkhadevata is a tree then Kusanali is a branch from it
One little detail, when we see Tighnari and Dottore talking, Dottore's voice is a little different then when he talks with Nahida. If we paid attention, we could figure it out before that it was different segments
I'm starting to think that the cutscene in the Battle Pass is starting to make sense now.
Lorie, when mentioned that greater lord Rukkhadevata sounded like Haypasia, that is because they share the same VA LMAO
We better start studying those Law books when we arrive on Fontaine
i've played ace attorney and danganronpa! i'm readyyyy
Imagine getting your gnosis taken by a literal child
I was waiting for your reaction 😍😍
"I have a VERY CLOSE relationship with Tighnari" Hm..., interesting :">
👀👀👀👀
Screaming at a scaramouche intro was awesome lol
god i waited for your playthrough this whole time since i missed the live... MY FAVOURITE GENSHIN STREAMER 😩😩
I think you are the president of Scara Nation. I had fun watching you during the Pardis Dhyai scene
The huge lore drop at the end of this quest was insane
I swear I saw all the stages of grief flashed through your face after the boss scene 😭😭😭 as a Childe main, it's hard loving these Fatui boys 🥺
It’s hard out here 😭😭
he said "small and ugly" to kunikuzushi but kunikuzushi always lives in the my heart.
That "take a break" was immaculate.
This makes me wonder if we seen other versions of The Doctor but never realized it.
"The First Sage of Buer" made me gasm all types of ways
53:40 “What did you do to haypasia?… and can you do that to me next?”
When i see the ayato burst, i always remember my account that got hacked, i'm kinda sad now.😢
But i love your videos ❤❤
love how they add the Japanese theme(flute one) in the part Scara scared taking his mother's Gnosis.
You're indeed correct! The greater lord and Haypasia have the same VA!
yes! the voice actor for them popped in during my stream and confirmed it! :D they did an excellent job with both characters!
Lorie in battle: ,,I'm not paying attention, what happened?"
Yep we already noticed you completely ignored the easy way and not using nahidas helping drone.
Rather even letting ayaka dieing 😂
you know how much harder this wouldve hit if he just said "please dont." in a soft tone at the end
Kaveh and Alhaitham are such an old married couple, i love them
its interesting how the colors in rukkhadevata’s design look kinda like the “activated” form of the tri lakshana creatures that show up when you use electro on them
“Catch him! D:”
*smashes into the ground*
😭😭😭😭
The whole Isak disguised as Nahida has me dead 💀
People are concerned (some are angry) for scara's fall and here i'm wondering and concerned for nahida, girl probably been squashed and stabbed repeatedly during those loops and cycles.
Ikr I honestly don’t understand why people are so obsessed with him. Like I definitely feel empathy for him but to me he doesn’t have any redeeming qualities. He literally would’ve killed us and so many other people
@@7mythicalmonsters I like my men fucked up. I don't wanna fix him i want him to keep being evil
It's not about redeeming qualities, it's about if i like them or not
3:18:06 ""Sheikh zubayr is busy completing the quest The warm rhythm of the streets"" I love story quests and the theatre and all, but had to skip some stuff because of this overlap in quests 😭 its such a struggle fr they need to fix it so we can enjoy both
Id advise just dont unlock a characters story quest until ur ready to do it. Story keys are easy to get anyway so u dont really lose anything either.
@@typh2630 yea well I had to learn that the hard way
Mihoyo must have unlocked a new animation pack because Kaveh’s expressions are SO DRAMATIC!! 😅😂😂
I wonder how many realize the totality of The Greater Lord's sacrifice. How complete it was. At least The Traveler is Teyvats witness.
Also, I know this was a lot but Lorie you absolutely NEED to do Tighnari's story quest. I don't wanna say anything that could spoil, just trust it's one of the best ones in the game.
Doing it this week 👀👀👀 very excited
@@LorieMegistus Let's GOOOO very excited for that.
Alhaitham & Kaveh having a roomate/couple's quarrel was hilarious.
Traveler was like, DW Scara I will be back with Revive Food lol
Tfw because his aunt died, his mom sent him to live with his new aunt.
Shenanigans happen!
Ah yess... The "Nillous is busy"... Trying to finish Sumeru, I had this happen like 50 times...
I still have a long way to go, still have aranara world quests, still have some chasm quests (I am so sick of that giant hole) and I only just finished the Dunyarzard quest which was probably one of the worst things to ever be created by humans. Right up there with Tsurumi island
Lorieeeee i was waiting for you!
ahhh thank you for waiting!! enjoy it!!!
Great video, as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Dottore said his homeland never appreciate his invention, so isn't that mean he help the previous archon created Akasha terminal and this guy is that old
Alternate title for this video: scaramouche fan simping for 4 hours
I personally believe that the four descenders are
1. The heavenly principles (a little confused about this, is the heavenly principles a person or a title, we know that the Primordial one is the elder god who first came to teyvat so is the unknown god also the primordial one?)
2. Either someone we’ve never met or the leader of the abyss
3. Alice, she is able to freely travel worlds and has given information to the people of teyvat about other worlds (the word “idol” for Barbara and the dodoco telephone for Klee)
4. And obviously the MC
Nahida specifically said that the abyssal twins fate changed near the end of their journey, clearly something happened that was able to completely change the abyssal twins perspective.
This part is strictly a theory though.
to add on to your hypothesis, can we say that the primordial one is also a descender?
let's put it in a puppet show
the characters in the puppet show ( people of tevyat)
but as the god, we are actually outside controlling them, we are not in the same world as them
@@ahteng3739 I definitely agree.
@@josh.1162 a book in enkanomiya seems to claim that the primordial one is overthrown by the HP
@@ahteng3739 Overthrown by the second who came, though the SWC did form Celestia and it’s gods (I’m pretty sure, it’s been a awhile since I’ve read the Enkanomiya books)
You have a great ear! Haypasia and the Greater Lord share the same EN VA.
poor scaramouche wishing to fight in archon war ... not realizing beings like zhoongli /Ei would laught to his current form
btw Isaak/Nahida banner .. when
even after the new story, this. This ending still has me crying the hardest, the ending with her words saying farewell to her people. Just ruins me, every time without fail.
