Two weeks ago my blood pressure was 212/128 and I was taking extra blood pressure medicines. I changed my diet completely and this morning my blood pressure is 108/67 and I am completely off of blood pressure medicines. I can teach anybody to do the same. Stop eating all foods that convert to sugar and increase your intake of avocados, walnuts, hemp seed, and a high polyphenol count olive oil, eat lots of fish that is high in omega 3 oils, and green leafy vegetables. Also, take a high-fiber supplement that is pure like psyllium hulls. Do not take Metamucil as it does contain psyllium hulls, however, it also contains other ingredients that are really bad for your intake. The first week you will feel bloated from the high-fiber diet, however, that will pass and the high fiber will lower your cholesterol. Another benefit you will receive is your arthritis (which is only inflammation) will go away. High blood pressure can be completely controlled by diet. I hope this helps and good luck to you.

I wish I would have known this a year ago! Had problems with swollen tongue and lips several times and was not diagnosed until I had my throat swell up after tonsillectomy. It was the emergency room Dr who figured it out. Was on a ventilator for three days.

I have been taking Lisinopril for awhile now (low dosage-10mg). It seems to do the trick. I have also been dealing with a small but persistent cough. I had no idea what it was from but just chalked it up to my body still getting used to me not smoking anymore. This helped me realize that it may not just be that. Also, periodically I will get hives, usually on my lower legs. This seems to be more due to dryer weather but now I know that there may be another cause. Thank you for the information! I know my meds may not be the cause of these but knowing that it is a possibility keeps me from overthinking them when they occur. Thanks again!

When I was in the hospital after breaking my hip my heart rhythm and b.p. became very erratic. I am on metoprolol along with lisinopril. It was not brought up to me that my medications might have contributed to this problem. My blood glucose also shot up to 475! Trauma seemed to be the cause. Anything that touches on my vagus nerve seems to precipitate all sorts of weird effects.
