    Would you use anchors that permanently attach the shed to concrete or ones that are removable like we did?

      Removable is the way to go

      Agree, I went with removable. But wish I'd used a proper drill - it took a long time. ☹️

      Totally the blue concrete screws you used is the way to go and will hold just as good, if not better than the other one---as long as they are long enough.

    Thanks for sharing your experience, and including the tools and supplies you used. I was planning to assemble my new shed, but I'll have to wait till Tropical Storm Hone to passes our island. It's great to see that your mom is helping with your projects. What a great team!

    Nice video, a suggestion to increase strength. Washers under the screws would assist to prevent pull out.

    Thanks for the follow up. We were going to attach the base to the concrete. Because we watched this, we decided to wait until it was built. Like you we rethought the placement. Great videos.

    Definitely would have gone with the screws like you guys did. This way nothing is permanent other than four small holes in the concrete, which can always be filled with some thin cement all.
    Only thing I'd have considered doing also, taking your weather into consideration, is made 4 'washers' out of 4"x4" squares of plywood painted black between the screws and the floor to help anchor down additionally.
    Regardless, great job! You ladies are definitely an inspiration for diyers who just need that little confidence boost to get something started. 👍👍

    Do you happen to know if the top section with the roof and windows can be installed rotated 180° in a learn-from config rather than the lean-to as shown? I have a water canale for house roof drainage just above where this will go and I don’t want water to hit the roof of the shed then drain back towards the house behind the shed. Thx! Great vid.

    I just installed a lifetime 12.5 x 8 shed on a concrete slab and was looking at the exact same anchoring bolts you showed in this video. Thanks so much for posting as I was unsure which one to use. I also have the same Milwaukee stubby and know feel after seeing first hand that the blue
    tapcons would be a better selection

    Honestly, SUNCAST should pay you for both these videos. I'm now leaning towards this one because of your videos. You answered the questions I posed to them regarding securing it to concrete. I would also add washers under the concrete screws because it is plastic and wouldn't tear as easily. My questions, perhaps you answered, is it waterproof? Thanks again.

      Thank you! Yes, it keeps water out, but it is not water tight meaning it has vents to the outside, so outside air does come in. Here in Florida that means we could get mold on soft items if we kept them inside (darn high humidity). We just filmed a 1 year later video about this, which will be out in a few weeks. -Steph

    I am putting this exact shed on paver foundation, so anchoring it with concrete screws is not an option. What would be the best way to attach spiral earth anchors to the corners? I was thinking of drilling thru corner walls and looping around metal support with a truss. What do you think?

    .. hi, I just wonder if you did have a hurricane but just that "built-in screw washer".. I'd think a bigger/additional washer or even 'chunk of wood' - in addition - could an inexpensive extra precaution. On the other hand, you may not have had a hurricane at the house before and this is your 'extra precaution :)

      You should be able to. Just check the packaging for the screws and it should say on there.

  • @xsteel3292

    Always enjoy your videos and take something away from them. 1. I'm curious why you did NOT use washers too, since the shed is plastic? 2. How is the wyze camera holding up? Was it battery powered? 3. Do you prefer this resin shed over one you built yourself out of wood? Thanks.

    • @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY
      @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We didn't use washers because the screw had one build in and to use another one felt unnecessary. The camera still works! Yes, it's battery powered. Although Wyze just came out with a flood light camera that we are thinking of putting in place of this camera, since we have a flood light right by the shed. For what our needs were, yes, I would prefer the resin over wood. -Steph

      @@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY thanks for your answers. Appreciate it. I will check out the Wyze with flood light. Builder put NO flood lights in the back of the house and no option to do so. Great fix and a camera too Thanks again.

    The company that designed that shed were not very smart to make the water go toward the house. I am gland you figured out to change that.

    So the 3/8 screw is not too small for drilling the 3/8 hole? I use 5/16 concrete bit but the 3/8 bot was too small.

    • @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY
      @MotherDaughterProjectsDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was there concrete dust left in the hole? You want to clean it out as much as you can before putting the bolt in place.
