You're right, that was my initial thought. But as I watched the video I was like "well we could see this as like an abstract art style like Hobie in spider verse" but I agree, multiple coats and perhaps some very high grit sandpaper

Try to water down the paints a bit more it will give it a smoother finish I use acrylic paints on my figures a lot it helps to stop clumping
