The writing in this game is so descriptive, I love it. The conversation you have with Precinct 41 regarding your missing badge is probably one of the most uncomfortable and embarrassing conversations I have had in a video game. As far as the thoughts are concerned. They give you a temporary bonus while you are busy internalizing them. Once you are done internalising a thought, it gives you a permanent bonus. If I remember correctly, you can also use a skill point at level up to remove internalized thoughts you don't want to keep. Also, the the time it takes to internalise a thought is tied to game time (obvious now that I think about it) and game time passes during conversation, not while walking around the game world. Also, the various skills that interject during conversations don't always have good advice to give, so be careful.
That conversation with the precinct was hilarious! I could feel the detective shrinking in embarrassment 😂 I’m not far in and I agree, this game has one of the best written dialogue and narrative descriptions. I’ve mainly spoken to the voices in my head (?) and it’s already been much more compelling than most games and movies I’ve seen.
@@heyamarii Careful with the advice from your skills by the way. They don't always have good advice. I'm currently playing a detective with Psyche and the more physical skills. The red skills, if I can put it that way, and I am loving it!

I am having a blast! I can’t believe I left this game rotting in my library this long. The tips help! Since I didn’t realise I shut off the tutorial while I was fiddling with settings, so I might have missed a lot before switching it back on. I have quite a few thoughts locked to internalise, and not as many slots, so I’m going to be picky about which ones to use! It’s so impressive how different each playthrough would be with different skill sets and bonuses
This is a wonderful playthrough already! It's so great to see someone get into the spirit of the game so quickly and just rolling with the character's bs ❤
Hell yeah, love me some Disco Elysium, no two playthroughs are the same and it's one of the few games where failing is sometimes better than not and usually much more funny.

I love how you got the Superstar Cop thought in like the first 15 minutes or something, by choosing every Superstar option. You're very drawn to superstardom
very excited to see how this playthrough goes! glad you're enjoying it so far! :) a little info regarding internalizing thoughts: you're able to think about certain ideas or concepts you learn about, and each thought takes a certain amount of time to internalize. while thinking about something, you might get a temporary debuff or stat boost, and finishing a thought will often give you something beneficial
I didn’t realise I turned off the tutorial tips when I was tinkering with settings before recording haha that may have explained things to me but who needs tool tips when I have you! 😂 Is it good to internalise everything I pick up? Even if taking a temporary nerf to a stat?
@@heyamarii haha, that explains why the game wasn't explaining much to you, i was wondering why that was happening. :P in general, internalizing thoughts is a good thing, even ones that give a temporary nerf can give you something good once it is finished. but there is an important thing to note: you have a limited number of thoughts you can internalize at once, and once a thought is internalized, you have to spend a skill point to unlearn it.
