Those darn pike before dark! While fishing in the southern portion of the state last week, my buddy caught a 17.5 inch walleye on his noodle rod while fishing for bluegill! 2 pound test, that was some excitement! Our ice is holding up except near shore, but with the upcoming forecast we'll be good for quite some time after that!
Do you guys usually set up a little off the weed line, right on it, or just up into the weeds? I’m new to Wisconsin and having decent success with weedline eyes but haven’t dialed in the pattern fully yet. I’m fishing Oneida and vilas county’s
We almost always are set up on the edge of the weeds. I’d say no more than 5 ft away. Also if you can always try to have them with a sand/gravel/rock transition into weeds! That’ll be the best success!
@ thanks for the response, I have an aqua view so I’ve been able to pinpoint the weed lines. I’ve only found sand to weed transitions so far but has worked out pretty well. I also have caught a few way up into the weed flats so that’s why I was curious.
Pike is one of my wife and I's top 4 fish (Perch, Crappie, Walleye then Pike). Pike fillets baked with bacon, butter, onions and pepper on top- tasty stuff. 18" to 22" make good picklers.
What is your guy’s biggest Walleye of the year so far? 😮🎉
25
Small...my local lakes don't put biggies out much...22" my pb is only 27" in 43 years lol

What lake are you guys on
We normally don’t say where we fish to keep the pressure down on these bodies of water! But we were north of Wausau
@totally understand, but thanks for the hint
What camera were you using at the beginning of the video?
Marcum pursuit HD!
Do yall eat the pike much? Might keep em to thin em out haha

We don’t normally keep them a ton. Mainly because of the cleaning part. But I do know they taste good!
❤️👊💪🧊🎣
Thank you! 😃
