- Castleton YHA, run by the Youth Hostel Association, is one of the larger hostels but it’s charm and character is typical of a quality re-purposed old manor house converted for the purpose.
Located right in the heart of the Peak District, it is ideally sited to give access to the surrounding countryside for walks and treks as well as the numerous attractions in the area. I have stayed at Castleton YHA several times, usually in one of the smaller private rooms with mates.

I like mixing up where I stay while out on trekking trips. Some wild camping, some campsites and using YHAs. Need a shower sometime and re-charge powerbanks too! Cheers, Warren

Great video, thanks for sharing. Is there a bar with lounge area? We’re looking to run a reasonably large event in support of injured military veterans and thinking of staying one night there.
Well it’s a lovely setting for sure. And there are some lovely lounge spaces as the video shows. There is no bar in the main lounge areas but some bottled and canned drinks are on sale. It would be best to contact them and see if they can provide any extras that you would like.
