Btw they have many Rap songs... But as in hip hop they say: "They can RAP RAP".
Talking about lyrics, Flow and wordplay.
    Maybe check:
"BTS - UGH" to start and maybe after the "Explained by a Korean" video.
In the group they are 3 Rappers and 4 singers.
Ps: Most part of the fandom are people in their 20's to 50's and over.
And is like 40% male and 60% female.
So it's not about "little girls" so don't be shy to like these guys, cause they are really talented and they have many deeper songs too about real issues like mental health related songs or other issues. :)

Nice reaction! Ooh you guys are gonna have fun going down the BTS rabbit hole. BTS started as a hip hop band; 3 rappers, 4 vocalists. They do a variety of genres from hip hop, rap, pop, R&B, rock, alternative, folk, trap, edm, classical, latin and yes even country -with over 250+ songs to choose from so there’s something for everyone. I tend to gravitate towards their rap/hip hop tracks the most- their lyrics are pretty deep on their Korean/English tracks with influences from literature, mythology, mental health awareness, social justice, psychology, philosophy etc. I think you’ll like “ON Kinetic Manifesto Film”, “Fake Love”, “Mic Drop”, “Not Today”, “Fire” and from the rap line “Ugh”, “DDAENG” and “Outro:Tear”.

and BTS was the artist #1 on the world and haved the #1 album on the world and the best selling artist of 2020 according to IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) and Yoongi (SUGA) one of the rappers of the group have a mixtape that in the mixtape have the name of August D (his persona) and i really highly recomend you to listen, Hoseok (J-Hope) is one of the rappers too and Namjoon (RM) one of the rappers and the leader of the group, Jungkook the lead vocalist, Jimin the lead vocalist too i think, Taehyung (V) and Jin one of the vocalists too. BTS is distinguish from all groups and boybands (they dont fit in the pattern of boybands so they are not a boyband but some people called them that even i dont like to use it) because they have a unique style, music and visuals.... BTS members produce, compose and write their own songs too, the latest album BE was all made by them in visuals, production, the producing of the songs and writing and compose and even Jungkook was the director of the MV of Life Goes On. And they have a real deep and beautiful and important messages in their musics and they talk about topics like menthal health, suici**, depression, social issues and self love, they have a triology in their discography called Love Yourself and in that era they spoke at ONU in 2018 and with UNICEF have the campaign Love Myself to promoto the end of violence of children and adolecentes in schools and home, all kind of violence. and in 2020 they again spoke at ONU for this pandemic and in 2020 still, UNICEF renovate the LoveMyself campaign with them, and if you dont know BTS are gonna lauch now in 26st of this month their global partership with McDonalds, they will lauch The BTS Meal, and BTS are now the ambassors of Louis Vuitton. if you want watch this video to get to know them better: th-cam.com/video/3cESARetI9U/w-d-xo.html (shout out for XCelest for this incredible intruduction of BTS) and i have so many many things to say to you about them and their art but i cant do it all here but if you have interest you will starting to know them and what they do and who they are as persons and artists.

So this is actually their second official all-English single. Their other songs are either Korean or Japanese. Dynamite was their first all English. Here is some info about them and some suggestions.
They are a group from South Korea. There are 7 of them, 3 rappers 4 vocalists. All boys. Despite the fact that they all have their expertise, they all sing and dance and they write their own lyrics and produce 95% of what they put out (RM the leader actually co-wrote and co-produced this song). Their lyricism is insane and is one of the main fan attractions. They touch on some pretty heavy subjects in their lyrics and music videos. They also help conceptualize their music videos and everything that they put out in terms of content including their famous BU (Bangtan Universe) which is a storyline running through some of their content. They mix genres and cover a lot of different styles and sounds from Hip-hop, to pop, to rock, to pop-rock, to R&B, to neo-soul, to Jazz, to acoustics, to straight elevator music, to EDM, they do it all and extremely well. So they cannot be categorized in terms of genre, and it is a common consensus that they (BTS) are a genre of their own.
BTW kpop is not a genre but an industry, just like you have hollywood is America, and Bollywood in india and so on and so forth, Korea has its own music industry but the xenophobic western market who loves pigeonholing things decided they were gonna classify KPOP as a genre when it really is an entire industry so keep that in mind. It is still being debated but as far as ARMY (BTS fans) know Kpop is an industry and BTS has their own genre within that industry and they are redefining the entire thing so we tend to get offended when they get called a KPOP boy band. They are not a typical boyband.
They are amazing live performers and do not lipsynch, although they have backing tracks because they actually dance and sing at the same time on stage and their choreographies tend to be some of the most challenging in the whole entire industry (BTW both the choreos for Butter and dynamite are considered their easiest choreos because they wanted people to be able to follow along to the dance).
When you watch their official music videos, Please turn on the CC as they are translated in english quite accurately. When reacting to songs that dont have music videos, I recommend you read the translations from the website doolset bangtan as they have the best translations of their lyrics. But if you feel more comfortable reacting to the lyric videos, Please stay away from these lyric channels (Jaeguchi and Lemoring) and use these channels instead (af taehyung, zaty farhani, Lynn eksonyeondan and Dial 6137) they have the better lyric translations in video form.
    Here's information about the members.
    The RAPPERS are:
    1) RM (currently stands for Real Me): He is the leader (born 1994). Real name Kim Namjoon ( Apart from being the leader he is one of the main producers/songwriters/lyricists for the group. Studio name: Rkive. The IQ on this man is crazy (148 to be exact). He has a great interest in art and philosophy and literature. Fluent in English, Korean and Japanese. Currently has two solo self-produced projects out (his 2015 Self-titled mixtape RM and his 2018 solo project MONO).
    2) SUGA aka AGUST D (that's his solo name): His real name Min Yoongi (born 1993). He is one of the main producers/composers/lyricists for the group. Studio name: Genius Lab. As a dancer, his expertise is in street dance as he used to be a street dancer who won competitions at regional and national levels in South Korea. Now he is also a main producer/composer/lyricist for the team. Studio name: Hopeworld. He has a great interest in pop culture and fashion. Fluent in Korean and Japanese and trying to learn English as well. Currently has one self-produced solo project out (his 2018 solo project titled HOPE WORLD).
    The VOCALISTS are:
    4) JIN: Real name is Kim Seokjin (born 1992). He also is a composer and lyricist for the team. He plays the piano and the guitar. He graduated with a degree in visual arts specifically animation and is currently pursuing or has completed his Master's in Media and advertisement (not too sure on that). He is fluent in Korean and Japanese. Currently has 2 Solo self-composed and written songs out (Abyss and Tonight)
    5) JIMIN: Real name is Park Jimin (born 1995). He is also a lyricist and composer for the team as well (he's written some of my favorite melodies for them). He is one of the main dancers for the team, his expertise is contemporary dance as he graduated at the top of his class in Arts school. Jimin is also a black belt in Taekwondo and has 8yrs of Japanese Kendo sword fighting skills along with other martial arts training like hapkido and Chinese martial arts. He is also currently pursuing a degree in advertisement and media. He is fluent in Korean and Japanese and also learning English. He also has two solo self-composed, written and produced songs (Promise and Christmas love).
    6) V: Real name is Kim Taehyung (Born 1995). He is also a lyricist, composer, and producer for the team and has written some great melodies for them as well. He is one of the dancers in the team too. He plays the saxophone and the piano. He has a great interest in fashion and photography (which he does himself) and is a huge art fan too. He has the deepest singing voice in the vocal team. He is also a great Actor and has acted in one of the most popular South Korean dramas of 2017 called Hwarang and has been in high demand to act in more projects. He is also studying advertisement and media. He is fluent in Korean and Japanese, learning English. He has 4 self-composed, written, and produced solo songs (Scenery, Winter bear, Sweet night, and Snow flower) and is working on a full solo project expected to drop by the end of 2021/beginning of 2022.
    7) JUNGKOOK: Real name js Jeon Jungkook ( born 1997). He is also a producer, lyricist, and composer for the team. He is also one of the main dancers on the team after J-hope and Jimin. His style of dance is more eclectic than anything. Studio name: Golden Closet. He also has a great interest in films and mv production and has a series of Vlogs and Pictorial style videos under the name GCF (golden closet film). Recently, He directed their LIFE GOES ON music video released last summer. the most athletic of the team (black belt taekwondo, loves exercising, does boxing, loves bowling, and more). He is also very talented in terms of drawing, painting, and design. He is fluent in Korean and Japanese and also is learning English. He is currently pursuing a degree in Broadcasting and entertainment. He has 1 self-written, self-produced solo song out (Still with you) and is also working on a full solo project which fans are also waiting on.
I recommend watching xceleste THIS IS BTS to get a better understanding of the group
    th-cam.com/video/3cESARetI9U/w-d-xo.html
And the ongoing documentary Rise of Bangtan will give you even more insight on the industry and also the group

      What a novel.
      anyway, a correction.
BTS wrote roughly 90 % of their lyrics, they did not however produce 90 %.
Their producer Pdogg produces the most.
It's only in the rappers mixtapes where the do all themselves.
RM also didn't produced this track here, he only wrote lyrics.

      @ginouclint7845 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@pantan5588 When I say they produce 95% of their songs I dont meant they are the only producers on the songs. I am aware that they have an in-house production team at Hybe (formerly big hit) who actually do production work on the songs too. And Yes Pdogg is one of the main in-house producers but Production has a lot that goes into it so highlighting the member's part in the production does not invalidate or cancel out Pdogg or other big hit producers. Also I say 95% of their entire discography because i'm counting their solo endeavours as well. It's really a question of perspective. And BTW The reason I said co-produced is because on the official credit release in Korea They have his name down for both Jaksa (lyrics) and Jaguk (composition and production) which is why I added his name in production as well. Because he was credited on the production/compositon part of it as well.

It's not Kpop, it's just pop... The whole song is literally in English. Besides, BTS' Korean music isn't really kpop either. Korean song or artist =/= automatically kpop. Also, being a BTS fan (ARMY is our official fandom name) doesn't mean we stan the whole of kpop which has over 150 groups. I for one only stan BTS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, it's funny when you said "simple song, no need to analyse". Usually, all of their Korean songs need analysis and breakdown... sometimes it's pretty hard. They have like 5 "simple songs to have fun" among 300+ of their discography 🗿
Well, this is their second ever English song, and they don't write those as they aren't fluent in English (except for RM, he's pretty fluent). Although, this time rap verses were written by RM - leader and one of the rappers of the group. BTS has 3 rappers (RM, SUGA, and J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jungkook, Jimin, Jin and V) in the group.

A lot of other Army have added comments explaining the versatility of BTS (they seriously have every kind of music you can want). I would add that one reason BTS is so popular is because they are open about talking about mental health, society's expectations, and their own struggles. Magic Shop sounds like a sweet ballad until you pay attention to the lyrics and realize it's about comforting a friend in deep depression with suicidal thoughts. Many of their songs discuss loving yourself and seeing yourself as worthy of love.

I'm 52, American non-Korean speaker - but I stan BTS because they are so flipping talented. Where else am I going to find a mix of perfection in vocals, slick raps & beats, professional-level dance skills, deep lyrics, & fun bops? I have over 120 of their songs/features/covers on my playlist. Nobody else is doing all this and trying as hard as BTS to connect with their fans. Plus my 11-yr old daughter and I have this to bond over because she's also a huge fan & BTS is mostly clean lyrics (except the raps) and family-friendly, with inspiring messages in their songs. We are waiting for their tour to be rescheduled because we have tickets!

So if your more into Hiphop vibes check out their mic drop, and you could also try their rap line projects in which they wrote on their own, it is the cypher 1, 2, 3, 4 and also Ddaeng. tho these are in korean, but lytical videos are available here youtube. so if you are into bars and flows, you probably should check it out, they also have solo works. but ARMYs could lecture you about that if you get into them more

Great reaction! Check out more BTS! Depending on what styles you like, they do almost every genre. And most of their songs are actually super deep, analyzing lyrics takes one to know at least two languages (Korean and English) cause they even do some word play between languages... Some other videos are very heavy with cultural references, so then there are whole explanation videos on TH-cam to actually get them. This is one of their more simple feel good songs, but it's already breaking all the records and we are happy to welcome new BTS fans! It's also a comeback AND soon FESTA season for us, so there will be a lot of new BTS content coming out during May and June, also BTS x McDonalds meal is coming in a few days... hope you enjoy your journey with BTS! Firstly BTS is not just a K-POP group they are global superstars & the most famous boys group in the world right now ( & since last 3-4 years ). Secondly BUTTER is their 2nd song completely in English, first one was DYNAMITE which they released in 2020 & even got nominated for GRAMMYS (the first K-POP & Asian group to do so). Thirdly their lyrics are way too deep & meaningful in their Korean songs ( when I say deep that means so deep that we literally have watch explanation videos to understand the real meaning behind those lyrics). Only DYNAMITE & BUTTER are the songs with fun & easy lyrics. Last but not the least BTS is a group which has 3 rappers & 4 vocalists & their fandom is called ARMY which includes people of all age groups , gender & ethnicity. BTS is not just a typical boyband , BTS are legends. I loved your reactions & looking forward to more BTS reactions.
Fun fact : BTS & ARMYs broke the records with BUTTER as the most viewed M/V in 24 hrs which is 113 millions in the YT history & the previous record was also set by them only with their English single DYNAMITE. 😂💜

BTS is the biggest artist in the planet right now being the #1 artist with most sales, won the most awards from all the artists in the planet and better charting in 2019-2020 and now 2021 we expect the same. They were nominated to a grammy (the first for a korean artist) They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalist and all of them are dancers and producers. They sing in japanese, english and korean. They have 200+ songs and 30+ music videos. They are the greatest "boyband or band" after The beatles breaking some Michael jackson records and some of the beatles and many other ones. Breaking records from classic artists and the biggest acts right now is BTS second name. They outsold all their USA stadium tour in minutes and in the planet.

Hi, you can consider BTS not k-pop, they are more than k-pop, they are a global group, global artists, actually the biggest artists in the world, Grammy nominated group, and Butter is a full english song their second, the first was Dynamite that was the video with more views in 24h in youtube history with 101 million, and Butter already have broke their own record with even dont complete the 24h. Dynamite last august debuted at number 1 on hot100 and played very much on US radios even entered the top 10 and was nominated to Grammy as i said before. and Life Goes On their song from the latest album: BE debuted too in hot100 and is a korean song turned them the fisrt korean act to ever make that (debuted a song in #1 on hot100, first with Dynamite and Life Goes On was the first non english spean song to debut at 1 on decade,) and the albums Map Of The Soul 7 and BE debuted at 1 on the Billboard 200 too, BTS since 2018 to 2019 debuted 3 albums at number 1 on billboard 200 making them the first group/band to do so since the Beatles, and their tour of 2019 called BTS Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour was the biggest tour of 2019. and just one more thing plleeassee dont generalize BTS fandom, we ARMY are the most diverse fandom... ages, genders, sexualities... me as an example: i have 19 years old and im a man and straight and BTS literally saved my life and change it forever. And if you dont know BTS have a collab with Nicki Minaj on their song IDOL from the album Love Yourself: Anwer of 2018 :)

loved the reaction yeah army and barbs get along pretty well its the people who stan other artist or groups that make trouble between our fandoms sometimes but most of the time were cool.
bts and nicki collabed in 2018 when a lot of people were turning their backs on her so we all have like a understanding since the industry also fucks bts over as well.
anyways please react to more bts especially the this is bts introduction by xceleste
bts is NOT just kpop. army doesnt even like to call them kpop anymore because people get confused and assume what bts is with that name. bts does ALL genres of music they ALL write and produce their own music. their lyrics are very introspective. they all dance (obviously) and theres 7 members 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. all 7 of them have individual solo music too. they been a group since 2013 and they been huge in the west since 2017.
their fandom is ALL ages majority being 20s-30s even though there are teen fans theyre not the majority.
bts music talks about society, self love, mental health, etc they have songs for every vibe and mood some with tons of meaning and indepth wordplay and others that are just meant to be taken at surface level. they cant be put in any box or genre tag nor can they be labeled as a boyband or kpop. theyre simply a korean group of artists who have a worldwide fandom and by worldwide i mean Butter got 100 number 1s on itunes in 100 countries possibly more by now so yeah :)

BTS does not represent kpop. BTS is BTS. They are as huge as they are because of how they differ from their peers in pop, Korean or otherwise. They were underdogs, outliers etc etc.

I am 38 years old and I enjoyed listen lots of Rap and I love BTS's music. They are really diverse with their genres, extremely good dancers, like such a choreos that i have never seen anyone else do and such a good singers, rappers and musicians. I easy put RM, SUGA and Jhope the rappers from the band in the Eminem category

BTS do a lot of subtle but powerful meanings in their music. In the Korean music industry it is slang to call an artist’s music “butter” if they are perceived as becoming too westernized. So BTS came back with this song which is indeed very westernized, which is in contrast to their song “Idol” that they release in 2018, rich with Korean culture. They released Idol to comeback at the haters that where accusing them of being to westernized back then. Now they are embracing it and telling people that no matter what they do they are going to love all parts of themselves and they are great no matter what. 💜 Love your reaction, “You nice, keep going.”

Hi, some things about this boys.
*Bts Is south Korean group, this days people prefer don't mix them with the term "kpop".
Kpop isn't a genre, Kpop is an industry in Korea that create music for kids/adolescents, and not all singers/rappers/musicians in Korea are "kpop"
    1. They are 7, 4 vocalist, 3 rappers (2 underground rappers) all dancers
    2. Bts compose and produce in all their albums, so is very personal, they sing about mental health, politics, society, their fans, self love, etc
    3. They have a story behind their videos so is difficult to new people understand, we (the armys) used to read and search to understand the link in their videos. Their last album for example was "map of the soul: 7" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Carl Jung.
    4. The army love them because they are good people who started from a company in bankruptcy, and even being famous they stay humble.
    5. They have a lot of genres but their base is very hiphop / rap. Also you can find subtitles in every possible language thanks to the fans, u only need to search with the name of the song or Activate cc.
**Bts always present themselves as a Korean group, and always said they don't want to be labeled in a genre or industry. The fans also do not want to be mixed with kpopers, (most of us aren't kpop fans) we don't have the same ideals. Not because we like a group from korea that means we like all from that country.

I think it is the first time that I have watched someone who, as I can say, did not have any kind of previous contact with BTS or K-pop reacting to Butter, it is refreshing to see that it is a song that captures even those who do not know them. Many "antis" who went to listen to Butter ended up liking it and became fans, and it makes me laugh a lot, but it is something that warms my heart, to see people leaving their prejudices aside, or just giving a chance, and realizing that they are incredible artists. That yes, "as incredible as it sounds, they are good!" (I hear this phrase a lot in reacts), the internet contorts informations, and as a fan of an artist who receives so much hate and unfounded criticism, I say that 80% of his stereotypes are nowhere near the truth. So.. thank so much for your respect and for just liking it.

Coming here after watching your more recent reactions to BTS. You are now down the rabbit hole with us. It's fun watching you watch them for the first time. You have now learned the wide range of genres that BTS cover. When Jungkook kisses his hand at the beginning he's kissing his ARMY tattoo. It's great fun to hear them sing in Korean with just a little english thrown in. I love SUGA's verse about being the nice guy. It always makes me laugh as as he's known as the savage one but we know he's a sweetie inside.
