Refresh orb used to start every 8 then got upgraded to 6 IIRC, but now it starts at 6 with a cap of 10 refreshes. Edit: The refresh damage boost does apply instantly. 21:01 your stone started gaining damage by 4 instead of 3 after hitting the refresh.
19:10 All orbs that have the text "can target any enemy on screen" do half damage to mirrors, with one exception nosforbatu( that one does normal damage), all other orbs do double damage, at least this was the case a couple of updates ago. 21:00 The buff does apply during a throw, even though the numbers on the side of the screen don't update, as the stone gained 4 damage per peg hit but the numbers stated it should be 3 (same thing happened at 24:55 the orb gained 5 damage per peg hit but, according to the numbers, only shoul'dve gained 2).
"as the run goes on" he says, 1 fight away from the final boss. Yes, Tyler, because there is so much run to continue to go on. There will be plenty of time for you to see how much that relic helps. *Definitely*.
So the reason for the change of refresh orb was because it was probably the most broken orb, if you had the gift that keeps on giving, it had the possibility of causing runs to end because it would just infinitely refresh which is why it was limited to only 10 times now.
By the way, the damage upgrades were definitely applying in real time. It doesn't reflect in the stats on the left, but if you pay close attention to the damage numbers, they rise faster after they get the damage bonus from refreshing.
"I'm taking a break " What do you mean you're uploading bangers everytime while in a break? No, seriously, I never been that satisfied by your uploads. Hope you're actually resting enough, keep up the great work man.
The stuck thing is really annoying, and I think an "if (velocity = (0,0)) { velocity = (0,-1) }" might solve it. I mean you just force it to hit the bottom peg. You can also raycast down and just destroy the block, but stil you need more than 1 direction, at least 3.
@@kdevelopergw I think the simpler solution is better, if anything just get the direction of net force on the ball (usually down, but the gravity wells change that, and any time there are moving pegs, it could end up being forced in a new direction) and remove the pegs making contact in that direction if the ball is stuck.
@@bastian_5975 I think a decent solution would be to make the ball check for connecting pegs and hit them when stationary. Things like refresh and the pumpkin allow the ball to get stuck with no speed so checking when speed is 0 should fix it as long as you check it a few times to account for refreshing before deleting the ball. As for granting velocity to the ball you could do it but it’s not unlikely for your ball to be forcefully moved inside a peg. Then depending on the physics it might just blast off screen at light speed. Which while it would look cool could soft lock the game.
Tip: this strat is godly with critiball, refresher course, electropegnet, and the shaft potion that makes crits also refresh. (Also tgtkog if you can get it)
I think you severly underestimate the value of refreshing on the first orb hit. Especially when the board gets more empty, having that initial refresh can be a lifesaver by kickstarting the refresh streak
The thing about betsy's hedge is getting a crit does exactly the same with or without it, but getting a 2,4 critted vs getting an 8,4 critted hits different.
An easy way to fix the issue of pegs getting stuck - if a peg’s momentum reaches 0 for 3 seconds, set its downward momentum to a low amount. Getting pegs stuck because of refreshes is so annoying, and it happens constantly with refreshorb.
I'm pretty sure mirror logic is that it deals double damage when hitting from Peglin's side and half when hitting from above (orbelisk and lightning both hit from above for example). Not sure about ones that hit directly (jack orb, concentration).
That is definitely not the reason, considering it still gets stuck and also if it wasnt there that relic would be way to op, so using some critical thinking we can assume they changed it for the relic
In case you don't know, the mirrors and weather vanes take halve damage from orbs that can target any enemy (or colunm), and all other orbs deal double damage (and get reflected, in case of the mirror)
instead of waiting the update, maybe you could do a chaos run: you start off with all relics, and one of each orb type, you are NOT allowed to take any new orbs, outside from dublication mirrors (dublicate all) and the remove mirror just pick a random one to remove, and then see the chaos of synergies and brokenness regardless of what orb you get just a fun bonus video/challenge idea of course :)
Orb idea: The Alphorb 3/4 Innate: This orb will be your first orb every reload Echo Boost: This orbs damage is multiplied by X for the purpose of calculating Echo effects
Jack-orb-Lantern used to have stat buffs on each level, started as a 1/2, then when leveled up it became a 2/4 the went to the top of the board twice, and at level 3 a 3/6 that traveled back up the pegboard three times.
fun fact about mirrors: anything you throw from the left does the good damage, but anything that doesn't do the good damage also doesn't trigger the mirror to damage you.
I believe everything here is pre-recorded, but FYI in the latest patch they removed the x0 slot from the weighted chip relic. So it might be worth revisiting in the future. Hope you're having a fantastic break, looking forward to the ongoing content you were kind enough to leave us during this time.
here's a little info on why matriochka shell wasn't a bad pick : each orbs have their own counter of 10 refresh => with matriochka shell a single refreshorb could refresh 20 times edit : gift that keeps on giving isn't a bad pick, but matrioshka shell was better because the -2/-2 doesn't matter much when you get +5 worth of stats on every refreshorb you throw
Quick note: From what I can gleam from watching this, the mirror is weak to any orb that doesn't alow you to pick your target, but if you hit it with any of said orbs and it survives, you will take damage. Any other orb does half damage.
There ought to be a ? event that only shows up if you skip the boss relic (and not always, just sometimes), which gives a special relic, or maybe just gives you the option to pick any relic you want.
They made the refreshorb only work 10 times because with terrible luck on some moving peg maps you could either softlock or build up wayyyy too much damage. I believe they added that the patch before this one
if the pegs that fade in and out can spare orbs from bugging out, then what if when the game detects the orb bugging out, instead of the orb disappearing, the nearby pegs fade out and in... Or that could be a new relic that does that.
I have an idea for the game:an orb merger where you can combine two level 3 of the same orb and it becomes a level 4 which has a special effect on the pegs like maybe the jack-orb-lantern when it hits the pegs they fall down and come from the top again falling into place...hope anyone sees this idea
