Respect for allowing Ireland and Scotland to have the automatic spots, we have the stronger chance of qualifying naturally but it’s still a risk. But giving up our spot for the other two counties? Respect that decision.
No automatic spots. It's the best two finishers out of 5 (who did not qualify). So If England Scotland & Ireland qualify then NI & Wales who are hosting games will also have an entry.
For the weird anglophobes and England haters in general making bizarre remarks about 'England being England' or acting like it's arrogant, it's more or less just England avoiding being accused of having an easy route to qualification. It's taking away the automatic qualification to prove they deserve it, while also relying on their quality team. It's just typical England bashing from some people on here determined to have it that no matter what England does (either the country or the football team) there is no positive spin to put on it. That there _has_ to be arrogance involved. How about no? If this were anyone else there'd be gushing over how modest it was of them.
Genuinely don't understand the unnecessary hate towards England, its was just like the last euros if the England fans did something it was on front page news if literally any other fans did the same thing no one gave a toss
It's not to prove anything. The reality is that the England squad would be strengthened by having to compete in the qualifiers, thereby standing a much better chance of winning the tournament itself.
The real reason is not really explained in here. Usually a competition is hosted in 1 or sometimes 2 countries (like Japan + SK) but this time there are 5 teams that are listed as hosts (England, Wales, Scottland, Ireland + ROI as they technically also have their own squad). But the organizers thought that giving 5 teams automatic qualification would be too excessive for the tournaent, so there are only 2 who get in that way. As England has by far better teams than Wales and Northern Ireland they agreed to let weaker squads take the automatic spots as that could let most of them play the tournament at the end. This is also so most of the host nation team are able to participate at the tournament at the end.

We didn’t reject it we couldn’t straight away qualify because uefa said the max amount of teams that automatically qualify is 2 and the UK has 4 countries so we have to go through qualifying
You're wrong in multiple ways. England didnt reject anything, UEFA decided that they couldnt have 5 teams automatically qualifying and so all of the hosts have to go through qualification. If england had hosted the tournament by themselves then they would have auto qualified and theres no way they would have rejected it - we'd have just arranged a bunch of friendlies.
The group stages are ridiculously easy. England would also be turning down a good money making opportunity by failing to play the qualifying games. Too many teams go to the finals.
I respect this decision a lot actually, rejecting a handicap and wanting to reap the benefits of the teams hard work is respectable, should give a wake up call to the teams
Shows the confidence in the quality of the England team, I don't see any other nation giving their free chance to another country. Anyone looking at this as a bad thing is clearly reacting to who did it not what they did...
That's because you're on of life's sidechicks... I'm sure if it was your country youd be begging the world for applause. England not sell outs. They'll earn their place in their tournaments. Unlike Qatar and that farce we see last year.
Well if they do qualify then don't be disappointed. Three out of the other host nations that are Ireland, ni, Wales and Scotland will still not qualify and you can mock them.
This was a joint bid - there are 4 countries and 2 free slots. Nobody has rejected anything, the idea that England could just grab the spot in a joint bid is wrong
That's actually kind of badass. I am concerned for the whole "we have 7 hosts so that's 7 autoqualified" trend that comes with there being multiple host countries
*5 hosts. And there's already a rule that at most 2 teams can get free qualification for hosting. All England is doing is giving a better chance for the other home nations.
@@fishyfish6510 You laugh about 1 tournament they failed to qualify for in the last 20 years but Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland celebrate qualifying for a tournament like they have actually won the tournament
England literally decided to take one for your sake. Only 2 host nations are allowed to qualify and they decided to take one for the team and be the Host Nation that needs to qualify, so they did away with the formalities so that you can potentially be one of the two that don't.
The team, staff, the organisation, and the entire sport industry will benefit more from the team playing through the qualifying stages than they would otherwise.
Makes sense, gives the manager a chance to see his team playing together for a few matches before deciding which players to take to the tournament. Gives the players a chance to play together so each others styles is fresh in memory. They get to play against low level teams that never qualify, whoop them and boost morale.
England didn't invent football. The oldest football ever found was from 400 hundred years ago and sits proudly in Stirling castle where it was found in the attic by builders doing repairs
Maybe they wanna give one of our neighbours a chance to be in it, but they're probably too small. I think Ireland Wales Scotland have some nice views though but maybe that's not the popular view, lol. Would be nice to see Wales and Ireland in it tbh 😅 Also that reason of preparing better is weird. If they play no games they avoid unnecessary injuries. Also helps them have better club seasons. Friendlies still exist Of course I would love the tournament being here in England.
It would be typical, England fail to qualify, get through by being the hosts and then go on to win and everyone disputes it as they were knocked out already
You realise England havent failed to qualify for Euros in like 20 years - and even that time was insane luck lol. It's the reason they want to qualify properly and not automatically.
England have made it to the semi final of the last 2 World Cups and were runners up in the last European Championship so England have as much chance to win it as anyone else.
I don't know why people complain, England are confident. They feel they can qualify and don't need the free pass. If we win the tournament it just adds the extra credit. People in this country try so hard to tear the national team down it's crazy.

oh my, England failing to qualify to their own tournament would be pure gold
That's because you're on of life's sidechicks... I'm sure if it was your country youd be begging the world for applause. England not sell outs. They'll earn their place in their tournaments. Unlike Qatar and that farce we see last year.
Well if they do qualify then don't be disappointed.
Three out of the other host nations that are Ireland, ni, Wales and Scotland will still not qualify and you can mock them.
Just not going to happen tho is it. I reckon Pep will be in charge by then. :)
@@tombowes2280clubs?
Why do u hate England so much lol
If it's going to be like this year qualis, this way maybe all 5 of them could actually qualify, 3 earned and 2 auto, that would be Amazing
This was a joint bid - there are 4 countries and 2 free slots. Nobody has rejected anything, the idea that England could just grab the spot in a joint bid is wrong
5 countries; England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland
@anoobus1492 so tempted to sing "Wales is not a country it's a principality" right now 😅
@thepenguinmafia wales is a country though.
Why not? England has always been about stealing shit belonging to other countries lmao

Surely England would not reject Ireland's place, it must have been a joint declaration by both FAs
I think its unfair that england decided for scotland wales northern ireland and ireland
This is like carrying your car to work instead of driving it becuase you think it will be a good work out
The Lion does not take hand outs from the cattle
England do not deserve to be at this stage … playing like Amateurs.. not to mention last game against a team ranked 45th !!
I know what you are saying but they are in the final 4 out of 32 teams.
if they dont qualify itll be the most england moment ever
This is the acceptance of being one nation not putting country in front of another.
Euro qualifier is so easy that england doesn't care about the automatic qualification. Some fans bragged about euro qualifier stats for some camel 😂
It was not easy for their golden generation in 2008 😂. They had Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, Río Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, JT and Russia qualified instead
@@fishyfish6510 You laugh about 1 tournament they failed to qualify for in the last 20 years but Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland celebrate qualifying for a tournament like they have actually won the tournament
When england gets kod in a death group recheck this comment:
the group will be rigged no way uefa would have a tournament in England without England they would lose to much money
There is no death group for England. Their U10 women could beat Argentina Senior men while Ireland can't even beat San Marino U10 women
Highly unlikely there will be a death group in qualifying. But keep hoping and praying
nations league will make sure that doesnt happen
Since it when ti 24 teams at euros you don’t get a group of death legit half the countries in Europe now qualify
Why is this recommended to me after England have reached the semis...
Real
Imagine if they don't qualify 😂
As if
😀 & I’m from England
It really doesn't take that much imagination. But I think the pitch should be widened to accommodate our sideways play.
And at a time we had almost forgotten about 1966, the memories will be revived again😂
If England don't fail even though I live here in Ireland I'll go to every game in England to rub it in.
What if Ireland fails to qualify?
England literally decided to take one for your sake. Only 2 host nations are allowed to qualify and they decided to take one for the team and be the Host Nation that needs to qualify, so they did away with the formalities so that you can potentially be one of the two that don't.

England’s gonna qualify, easily! 🏴
The team, staff, the organisation, and the entire sport industry will benefit more from the team playing through the qualifying stages than they would otherwise.
All EPL teams will be crazy angry with The FA. Increasing unnecessary load on players is not gonna bode well with them
What you think they wouldn't play friendlies during the time qualifying matches are on, you know like every country who hosts a tournament have done?
It's actually a very fair and sportsmanlike decision. Well done, England!
They won the game today
@@Noobplaysrobloxs They did indeed! It's coming home 🦁🦁🦁
I admire taking one for the team, but I still want to see them not qualify just for the spectacle that follows after
Excellent sportsmanship England! giving a chance to the other members of the UK
england don't say that we dont know how good our next manger will be.
Makes sense, gives the manager a chance to see his team playing together for a few matches before deciding which players to take to the tournament. Gives the players a chance to play together so each others styles is fresh in memory. They get to play against low level teams that never qualify, whoop them and boost morale.
It would be classic England if we didn’t qualify for the competition we are hosting

England didn't invent football. The oldest football ever found was from 400 hundred years ago and sits proudly in Stirling castle where it was found in the attic by builders doing repairs
the modern concept of both football and rugby come from a public school in Rugby
After Italy not qualify for world cup anything can happen
Who is watching after england lost vs spain
Maybe they wanna give one of our neighbours a chance to be in it, but they're probably too small. I think Ireland Wales Scotland have some nice views though but maybe that's not the popular view, lol. Would be nice to see Wales and Ireland in it tbh 😅
Also that reason of preparing better is weird. If they play no games they avoid unnecessary injuries. Also helps them have better club seasons. Friendlies still exist
Of course I would love the tournament being here in England.
It would be typical, England fail to qualify, get through by being the hosts and then go on to win and everyone disputes it as they were knocked out already
Wouldn't really be typical as England have only failed to qualify for the euros once in 20 years so the chances of them not qualifying are very slim
How would it be typical? England's record is being pretty much the best in the world at qualifiers/friendlies, and then failing at knock-outs.
As an English Muslim 🏴,
I think that The england national football team is just: WWWWWWWWWWWWWW
You realise England havent failed to qualify for Euros in like 20 years - and even that time was insane luck lol. It's the reason they want to qualify properly and not automatically.
You forgot about 2008?

@@mickyblue9658 not relevant? It's got to do with England, and England not qualifying for the euros, its a look back
Unfair that Ireland Scotland Wales and northern Ireland now have to try qualify after paying to host it.
WHOS HERE AFTER THEY MADE THE FINAL 🔥🔥🔥
England, Wales, NI and Scotland will host it just for none of them to make the semi finals.
I mean wales already did in 16 so I don't mind that
England have made it to the semi final of the last 2 World Cups and were runners up in the last European Championship so England have as much chance to win it as anyone else.
Hopefully for England pride doesn’t come before a fall
Why would England agree to jointly host in the first place. Surely, they are capable of hosting the Europe on their own?
They just didn't want Scotland Northern Ireland and Wales to feel left out
England not reach the world class standard yet.
2020 they play well than 2024.
The FA make money on England home fixtures. Not crazy at all.
4RA ke live games bohot engaging hain, real-time excitement milta hai
I can totally see this backfiring and England not even getting past qualifiers because they’re a country of spineless bottlers 🤣
Well after they played in the 2024 competition, they might want to change their mind
It's not a crazy reason. There's actually a fair rationale behind it. Look at other host nations that have failed to qualify.
I don't know why people complain, England are confident. They feel they can qualify and don't need the free pass. If we win the tournament it just adds the extra credit. People in this country try so hard to tear the national team down it's crazy.
Respect 👏🏻🇬🇧🏴🏴
England is the home of football. They win regardless of their participation.
