FatalFrame45 in your interpretation you have some mistakes. I had their booklet, it were slightly wrong there. For example, "one fell three more to go", "...leaves me", "I want so to be helpless inferiority a slave", "merciful blades will sever me", etc. They are few, but the less mistakes are the more visible. @@OnyxSilas the fact that it's based off of real life makes it all the more evil though. The guy is Gilles de Rais and he was local nobility in northern France in the 1400's. He's a real jerk if you ask me.
One of their best songs. Hella underrated
TBDM have really been getting darker and darker with their lyrics over the years. I suspect the "deathcore" accusations are responsible. But what's great is that their albums have both types of songs, ones that are dark and demented, and others that while still dark are pretty much meant as black humor or not meant to be taken very seriously. This and Goat Of Departure being good examples, respectively.

I don't get that from the lyrics at all but to be honest i never really "analyzed" them. Although fantastically written in typical Trevor Strnad fashion, when i first read them they just seemed like standard grimdark satanic stuff, kinda like Carbonized In Cruciform. I know he is a huge fan of that aspect of extreme metal, but when it's done in TBDM's more acessible, melodic style i can't help but feel that they're trying to be over-the-top on purpose. Almost like a parody. That's where i was coming from.
