I've got half a dozen rounds in with this wedge, upgraded from the first generation PM grind.
This sould be an easy transition for most people from a traditional wedge, this thing is not near as wild looking at address as the PM grind. To my eye it doesn't look that much different than my MD4 sand wedge.
Does it lower your ball flight? A little.
Does it spin? Yes, like crazy.
I love it, definitely recommend it.

Great review, Jim! The feel of raw wedges and irons is one of the reasons why I will always play them. I just wish Callaway would have made the whole head raw instead of just the face!

Had the first and second generation PM grind 58 degrees and liked the performance around the green and from the bunker but not so with full shots. Switched to Taylormade High Toe 58 degrees at the start of this season but bought the Jaws Full Toe when it came out and love it. Better looking than PM grind(not so weird looking), really like the c grind and what a performance around the green. For me even better than the PM grind. High shots, low shots , flop shots (easy to lay it open) and all with a lot of spin. Big thumbs up for Callaway 👍🏽

I have one of these...my best wedge. I love the leading edge. I've tried the Ping and Vokey. Good wedges, but this one is much more constant for my short game.

Forgot to ask, how does the balance of the wedge feel? I guess that's high praise for you giving the DG spinner shaft high marks as you don't care much for DG shafts. So, this one has a good feel to it then?

It actually feels good. The spinner models have always worked for me. I guess I’ll have to update my comments going forward lol

Good review as always, I have been demoing a 60 and find it really plays well. I haven't pulled the trigger yet as I think they will be coming out with a MD6. So I would get a 58 in the high toe and my 54 would be the MD5 or 6. I am currently using a KBS REV 2.0 in my MD 5's and I need to decide if I stay with those shafts or try the stock spinner. Once a gain good job!

The Kbs is a great wedge shaft. The spinner will “feel” soft if that’s a thing for wedges

Nice lookong wedge. Nothing comes close to the Vokeys.

Volkeys are certainly a great wedge , in my experience they are a bit firmer to me, that been a while but still nice
