I literally had tears rolling down my face at the end of this session, mainly because of the last song, so much emotion and passion shown by Amanda in this performance. The last song really touched me because most of us are currently at that point where the turning point of our success stories is so close, but there are these obstacles and resistive forces trying to break us down and lead us astray. I stumbled across this beautiful soul looking for unknown songs for meditation/yoga and I am so happy I did. Honestly speaking, I do not know half of what she is saying (bc I don't speak the tongue), but the soul and feeling she has while singing transcends language barriers and still had me in tears on a few songs... love to see/meet her in person. ❤

What an ingenious development of a concept : the timing of performances to ensure a commencing from twilight and a completion at dusk, the backdrop of trees against a slightly raised platform and the wooden architecture as a natural flow from the scenery. The camera angles are also an excellent audio-visual play with an unseen yet engaged audience.
Amanda Black leaves nothing on stage. There is no pretence. Her lyrical deliberateness and vocal prowess are the twin axes that make such raw, stripped-down performances ever so sweet. To deliver vulnerability at its crudest is itself the package definitive of strength, a package that also shone through in her bouts of wholesome laughter. I have seen her live and much of it was the same as this intimate gathering on a larger scale.
The "relentless wheel of human progress" is turning and artists are very special conduits of a reimagined Africa and world.
Each one should be thanked for sharing their unique and special gifts and talents in the compilation of these productions, including the dexterous band members, editing team, all and sundry.
