Im from the Adirondacks NY. my grandfather, dad, and uncles always ran skidder chains no matter what. but those machines were small timberjack 240A turbos. cable.manual transmissions.I would be logging too if it wasn't for my Cerebral Palsy. Sorry to hear about your wife! Love your channel. awesome videos :)
When I used to work in Michigan for Dynamic Drilling Fluids out of kalkaska my boss made a push and pull front bumper for our Freightliner for the D6 had a place to hook up on
Will did GOOD by keeping that K.W. in one piece. All it'd take is one grab and there'd be pieces inside, outside or maybe both. Getting the juice flowing is where it's at. Like the old logger training the truck driver and sitting at the bottom of a LONG pull. He says 'Son, if you're going to have anything left, let it be at the TOP'! Been there and done that more than once and these stupid mud/snow traction devices will stick you quicker than you can blink. They'll kill you whether you want to die or not. Some progress. BOT! So HEAL Lacey, Happy Weekend and BLESSINGS All yall! And you had the Handsome Doctor looking out for your wellbeing, John. Step for step. Drip for drip. That's dedication, and his orange gets stomped. Hmmm.........
i'm just an armchair operator so please explain to me why you wouldnt drop the liftaxle? with the 2 skidders pulling i mean, otherwise i know it's a problem with the traction. with the chipvans i sometimes wonder too, when you don't need to go around a bend why not put down the additional axles?
ty for the quick answer :) if there is solid soil beneath the mud that kinda makes sense i guess. would've thought spreading out the weight would be good but that doesn't work no more as soon as you start to sink in.
Crosby clamp #1 rule ….never saddle a dead horse.... love your videos but man you guys work harder not smarter 30 years I have been doing this I am worn out in 3 hours watching your videos ….. keep pluggin …. be safe !!!!
No ones developed a heavy rubber mat to go under the tire to help get some traction for situations like this? I'm thinkin' of the ones people have in their car trunk for when they get stuck in the snow or ice.
Rodger Cottrill well you got a figure when you're in the woods like that every day and working in the weather where it's constantly wet and cold, these machines have to take a lot of crap. Also not to mention the garbage and stuff people just randomly throw into the trees. It's even worse when you have trees that are all clumped together because they can cause all kinds of problems. Limbs can get stuck in there and mess up all kinds of different parts.
a friend of a friend of mine long time ago was watching as a truck was being pulled out by a chain it broke & also broke his leg. people just never think it could happen to them for some reason
Oh man! He was really stuck! Nothing best than skidders. Thx for sharing sir.
Watching your videos wears me out completely. You guy's work hard.

The more wheels down the harder it pulls, just a fact of life. Believe that it has been tried and found to never ever work out better.
ty for the quick answer :)
if there is solid soil beneath the mud that kinda makes sense i guess.
would've thought spreading out the weight would be good but that doesn't work no more as soon as you start to sink in.
.I need to push harder to get the wheels going around
you are the man
Crosby clamp #1 rule ….never saddle a dead horse.... love your videos but man you guys work harder not smarter 30 years I have been doing this I am worn out in 3 hours watching your videos ….. keep pluggin …. be safe !!!!

What a mess! Just another day in the woods though I guess.
I can not figure out how you guys have never pulled a tractor apart .
+gerald smith lol these trucks are the real deal!! Thanks for Watching
they are the unofficial test pilots for Freightliner etc. if a logger can't break it ,it's gotta be good !!!!!
Did you not have the dozer?
No ones developed a heavy rubber mat to go under the tire to help get some traction for situations like this? I'm thinkin' of the ones people have in their car trunk for when they get stuck in the snow or ice.
where I am from we corduroy the roads with strag ,also will sacrifice a load or so of chips to make road mats works excellent after set up .
Thank's Willy Nelson Music Will Be Better" Than all Explain" Merci! 💥💥✅🇨🇦👀
haa haa fun day in the woods 😁
+TheRobbe88 lol yep just another day in the woods!!
TheRobbe88 seems like he spends more time hung up than he does work

Twang, and that's why you don't stand next to a wire rope under tension
a friend of a friend of mine long time ago was watching as a truck was being pulled out by a chain it broke & also broke his leg. people just never think it could happen to them for some reason
if you install wire clamp the right way they don't slide off the cable hence hook in hand
If he would have hit it like that to begin with he wouldn't have got stuck
If you put a wood chip in human get stuck
please dont stand that close to a chain when its pulling
+cat320dful haha it's 1in cable. If it were chain I would have been way back. Thanks for Watching
Stop saying YEP YEP YEP.
