when u want someone like kafka the only other one is her 4 star variant little gui but kafka just plays with all dots and procks them whenever so she can never be power crept in her role unless were talking nihility dps in general then she would already be power crept cause of acheron and how acheron plays with dots and debuffs
if powercreep gets so bad that enablers like kafka and topaz are powercrept the game is cooked at that point tbh

Topaz is very easy to power creep. She is not even best in slot for a lot follow up attackers. For dr raito shes amazing but for most other comps she is easily replaceable by another harmony. They could very easily make another follow up buffer but with bigger numbers. You can't do that with kafka. Making a character numbers bigger is just more damage for kafka to deotanate.

@@uyeah1234I actually disagree. Topaz scales higher and higher the more FUAs there are, and then feeds that attack frequency straight back into units like Robin and Aventurine to create a positive feedback loop. As we get more FUA units that launch ever more attacks, she will scale higher in power similar to Kafka.
The only reason she’s suboptimal on so many non-Ratio teams right now is because most existing characters don’t have all that many FUAs. Most just use normal skills and ults the majority of the time, then their FUA is triggered after some form of extensive buildup. Characters like Jing Yuan might use a FUA, but not in the way Topaz wants.
The difference between Topaz and Kafka is that all DoT units function pretty similarly, so Kafka can work is pretty much any of them while scaling higher and higher solely off of raw damage. Meanwhile, Topaz craves not just FUA units, but FUA units built for quantity of attacks over quality.
The only question is WHEN more units like this will come out. Ratio works for now, but Hoyo can definitely get a lot crazier. There’s PLENTY of design space available for the devs to play in. I can’t wait to see how the team develops in the future.

If you know Yelan from Genshin, you know that wont work. They tried to powercreep Xingqiu by releasing Yelan and ppl ended up using them both together.
I quit genshin but i get what you mean. They cant nerf them, so they try to add another "supposedly" better characters, yet many players put it on the same team and the previous characters becoming 10x more value 😂
Its not really comparable since there is not mechanic in Genshin that stops players from using both of them in the same team.
Meanwhile in HSR SP management can make Kafka and the new Dot unit incompatible if both of them need to spend SP every turn they take.

If the 'I'm genetically your mother' line was true, then Firefly would also, genetically, be TB's mom too (as would Silver Wolf, with Blade as a dad). Therefore crashing this shipping war... with no survivors!
At any rate, Blade gives a very non-dad answer to your past after the quest, so even without metagaming the true/false answers in the wiki one can assume that answer is false.

@@1gniel In that answer, she says the other stellaron hunters are gave 1/4th of their DNA to you. This would mean Firefly was as much your mother as Kafka was, as was Silver Wolf.

I'd imagine a nihility Trailblazer will mesh well with her too, in the way Harmony TB is working well with break units. So that's a future buff just waiting to happen.
Maybe just a good f2p unit, not sure they would just make them better than kafka or black swan
With how important she is in the story, we should rather be afraid of her getting killed, rather than her getting powercreeped
I read that 2.3's Divergent Universe has a buff that allows DOTs to Crit, which might be a hint of what a future DOT support might look like.
A DOT sustain that works like the one Simulated Universe that heals when DOTs proc also would make a lot of sense.

The thing is if you can't replace ruan mei as she give break effect damage bonus and help to reduce the enemy weakness like even robin couldn't powercreep her she is that future proof she is
The irony for me is she was my first limited unit. I got her purely by accident when I first started playing in February. After that IX clearly is gazing on me since every nihility unit is just magnetized to my account. Glad to know Kafka will be around for a good while 😊

Same here. Started at the same time and got Kafka on my 15th pull by total fluke. Never played a gatcha before so I had no idea if that was good or bad. Shame I never got her cone though. I'll have to hold out for the next run for that.

an idea i’ve always had was sort of like fu xuan but with a debuff
what if the character could reduce enemy atk by 50% and then the ult would reduce dmg dealt by 30% or something
it would apply debuffs for acheron too but it would work for nihility teams
maybe for dot specifically a trace could just be when ultimate debuff is active they take 15% more dot damage
but I really wanna see hoyo go more experimental with nihility and sustain outside or preservation/abundance
I hope they release a Harmony unit that's solely dot focused soon. Could be someone who enables insane backloaded damage. Would be amazing for Black Swan and Kafka. Crossing my fingers now.
I don't care if they power creep her ocer and over again. i have her E2, Her LC S1, i have almost a god roll on all her pieces, i leveled every single one if her traces to max and got all her sub traces. I adore her. I will always use her in my DoT team. She was also my first limited 5* so theres sentimentality there

If hoyo is to powercreep kafka, it would likely be kafka herself. Its pretty common for gacha games to rerelease characters in stronger forms. Being someone from fate go, I'm more familiar with this concept than I really should be(if your unfamiliar, fgo tends to release characters in alternate forms a lot, especially saberfaces). And hoyo has shown they are willing to do this in HSR. Dan Heng. You technically have 2 different Dan Hengs and they both are playable with each other.
There are many characters where they can be stronger than what is currently presented to us. Acheron could possibly have a permanent white hair form. Maybe welt has is old HI3 Hercher powers, he clearly has shown in the story he is more powerful than he lets on. Many of the characters we have come as bosses. Kafka, Aventurine, Svarog, Sam/Firefly, etc all could possibly have stronger forms.
Svarog rn is clearly tied to clara rn, meaning we can have him individually stronger. The IPC units clearly have OP forms they unlock using their special stones, Meaning Aventurine, Topaz, Jade, and anymore IPC units could have stronger forms later in the future. They might implement them as alternate forms like how MC and maybe march will have but they will exist regardless.
All of these possibilities allow for there to be a stronger kafka so if she is gonna be powercrept, its gonna be her. Thank you for listening to my ted talk.

People think that powercreeping resumes to more powerful characters being released. That's not always the case. International in Genshin was and is a fucking broken and cheap team to build. Xiangling/Xingqiu/Bennet are broken to this date. But when they released dendro, suddenly people were crazy about the new teams and reactions. Does it mean that internacional was powercrept? Yes and no. The team still is pretty strong. But people are now more interested in Nahida and Furina. I don't think Kafka will ever become useless like Hook or phys MC. But they will DEFINITELY find ways to make people want the best new thing or new best DOT unit. They could even make enemies immune to dot like there's enemies in Genshin that can hurt you through shields.
I'm pretty sure when people talk about power creep, they are talking on an individual character level, not a "team" or "concept" level.
Like what would even qualify as International power creep, a better version of International? that would either come from replacing one of the units, which is just international but one of the characters got replaced, or it would result in the some/entire team being replaced, but that would result in a new team.
In HSR case as well, enemies are weak to elements, dmg types(dot, break, debuff), and have special mechanics that favor one team over another, the question isn't will DoT get powercreep, it's if Kafka will get powercreep.

The only way I could see Kafka being powercrept in some way would be if they released a single target dot applier and triggerer with higher scalings, though even then they'd only be better in moc maybe

We must also remember that the argument 'If someone else did the same thing, you just put them both on the team together' was also said about Bronya.
Also, if we did have a second better kafka, putting both together might not be as good as you think simply because of kafka herself. That team would use kafka's own dot as a base to retriger. You said yourself that her multipliers are low. Would she actually be better than a future OP limited dot 5-stars?
um u actually can use bronya and sparkle together for some 0 cycle teams and also kafka has 0 downside to being with a new kafka even if the new kafka powercreeps her multipliers bc they will both just trigger the dots together
Her upfront damage multiplier is low, not her dot damage.
Problem with Sparkle and Bronya in one team is high SP consumption. Afaik only Blade can use both of them optimally to AA and only because he's SP efficient, even then Blade can't benefit from Spakle+Bronta since he scale of HP.
When MHY release a character that as SP efficient as Blade while also having ATK scaling, I can see Sparkle+Bronya be used for this hypothetical character.
@@fay1121The other problem is also how the buff duration for both of them works.
For example, Sparkle’s Crit DMG buff on her skill lasts until the unit’s next turn, so for example in a situation where Sparkle buffs with Skill > DPS takes action > Bronya pulls them back up again, they lose the Crit DMG buff from Sparkle’s skill.
I don’t think the same issue would apply in the scenario with Kafka and a potential second DoT triggering unit, though it depends on how they implement it. The main issue I can see cropping up is skill point consumption, since you would want Huohuo at E0 to skill once every 2-3 turns which makes her at best SP+1, and Black Swan being in the same boat with dropping the DEF shred (depending on how quickly you clear each wave), while Kafka always wants to Skill to trigger the DoT, and it is highly likely the second DoT triggering unit would as well.
My fav team is Ach, Kafka, Swan and Gallagher. All their movesets complement each other and there's no wasted stats.

black swan came out 2 patches ago, so thats not weird at all. they wanted to bring out more FUA characters recently too, and now they focusing on break characters
heres a bit of yapping
I got Kafka when she first released and then stopped playing HSR after a month or two. I only came back like a month or two ago and started playing more. Kafka is unbelievably overpowered and I started blazing through the story. Now that I'm close to finishing her build (just need better ornaments), every enemy gets destroyed.
Also here's my thoughts on the Nihility Path: It's most likely the most versatile path because of how the Aeon, IX, is. IX doesn't gaze upon most people from what we hear from many NPCs. I think that because of this, the Nihility Path is a lot stronger and versatile because of the small amount of people that IX gazes on. Other paths usually offer only one or two different ways to play characters, for example, Abundance usually offers healing, but some characters like Gallagher can act as a DPS unit (from what I've seen), or with Destruction with characters like Jingliu/Blade but also have Xueyi, who again can act like DPS unit (from what I've seen). All these Paths are good in one field because many people are able to follow these Paths. But because IX isn't like the other Aeons and doesn't let a lot of people follow their Path, the Nihility Path is much stronger than other Paths.

I think one of the nicer things about star rail is outside of a few exceptions, most units will have some use on some team at some point. There will be some that are better than others, but with how many elements and how many paths there are, it'll take a long while to overlap a unit 1:1 so they are actually irrelevant.
I think the only exception to this has been Arlan and Natascha. Arlan because Blade does literally everything better, but with higher damage and a safer playstyle. Nat because Lynx also does nearly everything with an extra niche for Tanks should you want it. I'm sure there also other examples, but another thing to remember is that with how limited units can be, not everyone will have them to operate on the same playing field, so I get opting for a unit that's been powercrept, but they're your option. However, I do find it difficult to imagine that at the the point where a player is hitting the real endgame content, anybody's held onto these two for any reason.
Imagine they make a character that can maake DoT's crit or something that'd be just bonkers
My first limited 5* was Kafka and I have built her with a crit build
Well she's an enabler.. dots only work whenever the enemy starts their turn.. so unlike other dps where you can boost it by having more turns than the enemy, dots rely on enemy speed not team speed.. so for kafka to trigger those dots on her turn suddenly switches the dot condition to dealing damage during Kafka's turn instead of waiting for enemy turn..
Unless they make another dot detonator except they also make all dot able to crit until then
Best way for the game to limit it is for the enemy to cleanse itself, or highly resistance to debuff and dot. Then kafka wouldn't be so broken anymore. Sure she is still useful against everything else but that's a whole new argument.
Kafka and Topaz are similar in that regard, they'll get better and better the more DOT and FuA units come out because they support those specific niches, hence it's harder to powercreep them.
Even if she got "powercrept" from aspects of her kit being used in newer characters, I agree that they'd just work together. But more than that for the people who don't like her (color palette, character, design, whatever) they would have another option that is similarly strong with their own individual nuances. Like I don't really like Sparkle so I am not really ever planning to get her; I got her light cone for my Hanya. People called Silver Wolf future proof but heck Boothill's ability + Punklorde curio itself shows they won't shy away from sharing her ability and it's possible others from her planet can do it too. Perhaps one that specializes in a specific element, or where it's guaranteed a specific element based on character order. I think HSR team is pretty good at making all characters feel unique and like they are useful
Imagined a character doing this
an Physical Erudition/Nihility person with a 135 ult cost
E makes them gain 5 energy per action order till its their turn again
basic attack gives them no energy but is aoe
Ultimate makes an object and the object absorbs all DoT (except Arcana) currently on all enemies then it appears in action order (similar to Robin ult)
when the Ultimate reaches its turn it adds 3 more DoT of all DoT types inside the Ultimate (except Arcana) then detonates all DoT stored inside the ulti
Talent Inflicting weakness break gives 5 energy
Trace 1 makes basic attack have a 35% chance of inflicting bleed
Trace 2 35% damage reduction while being gaining energy from the E
Trace 3 Increases DoT damage by 4% (max 15 stacks) from how many DoTs are in the Ultimate

it's so funny to me that i was going to skip kafka's first banner but only pulled on her banner because i wanted luka, instead i got kafka at 40 pity on 50/50. I had her built but i refused to build any other DOT unit. And now, the character i almost skipped but pulled because of my gambling addiction is a irreplaceable unit on my main team
itll take awhile.I think they'll plan on making a dot harmony, dot sustain, 5 star fire physical dot, a electric dot that's just damage no util. Given how robin came out for mainly the followup team but isn't super buffing them and is more generalist, I think dot teams will get 5 star pela that also mainly def shreds but also has dot to replace raun mei on that team so they're a good generalist.
I'd love another dot trigger (preferably physical element) because I don't like having to play kafka to make dot a viable option.

It's kinda funny that Luka it's literally a DOT trigger. So no, Kafka it's not unique on triggering dots. But of course, Kafka overpowers Luka by A LOT. + Now with Harmony Trailblazer's existence. Luka and Kafka & Harmony TrailBlazer can make a very interesting physical break & bleed dot team.
Honestly, the only way i see Kafka being powercrept is if there's a unit that can cause dots to crit on top of triggering them.
2:30 break effect sampo+BS is in my experience just as good as Kafka+BS against wind week enemies

I'm still using Kafka, she only got benched from SU because Acheron can clear it faster.. I think her only cons for me is she share BSwan with Acheron and Acheron always get a node in moc..

im not worried she become irrelevant for at least another 2 years. the meta is progressing toward specialization with supports and dps being more better at doing something specific. at the moment we have 3 ways of doing damage, tradition crit, dots and the newly and progressing break effect. hoyo done a good job at diversifying the meta since with all these type of teams they have plenty of options for a new hero that don't powercreep the meta too much.
That doesn't matter when units like Acheron and Aventurine were just released, just because they are diversifying the options you have doesn't mean they aren't making stronger units every patch
Personally, I have built my Kafka to be as fast as possible and I am running Resolution Shines on her, in lieu of trying to buff her own damage scaling - it's not terrible, but Black Swan's scaling is MUCH higher when she can build enough stacks, so having Kafka serve as effectively a driver for her has given me pretty good results (especially when there are other DoTs, i.e. Nihility Resonance, or that one DoT Trotter buff in MoC). I don't think Kafka can be truly powercrept unless we get another character who can universally activate all DoTs like she can.

3:00 some time ago, i commented on a video i forgot the content creator's name and what's the video's name was but, I put that if kafka was to be powercrept by another character that triggers DoT. She wouldn't get replaced heck that would be kafka's buddy i said.
then that content creator berated me said that she would get benched. dmbfck didn't realize that kafka alone can generated 40k+ damage alone, now trigger it twice and it's 80k. why would someone bench her for another DoT trigger character when they could be put on the same team smh
So, the only way Kafka can be powercrept if there's already 4 better Kafkas... But then we'll probably just put her in our second team.
The new 5 star nihility character heals and debuffs
One way they can "powercreep" Kafka is by releasing units who only benefits from DoTs that is triggered on the enemy's action. Black Swan is already halfway there (her Ult Vulnerability only works during the enemy's turn).
Of course, it has to be just as much if not better than Kafka.
Example:
- All DoTs taken during the enemies' turn will be guaranteed CRIT.
This alone already doubles your damage. Kafka cannot benefit from it unless if she uses her Ult during the enemy's turn. However, only one enemy can take action at once, so the rest of the enemies will not take Crit DMG)
- When receiving DoTs, the enemy's next action will be advanced forward.
This is a double edged sword for Kafka. On one hand, enemies will take more DoTs since they're taking more turns, but on the other hand, your team will also take more hits.
- At the start of an enemy's turn, applies 10 stackable DEF/Vulnerability. Every time they take damage, reduce the count by 1.
This will reward backloaded damage more than frontloaded ones. Despite Kafka being able to frontload DoT, the multipliers are still only a fraction of the original damage (aside from her Ult).
Except Kafka can still work here. You can still use Kafka Ult DURING the enemies turn. It's something Kafka mains are told if they have Black Swan Vulnerability debuff on the enemy. Use the ult During the Enemy turn especially 2 action enemies.
Also. Getting Dots to Proc more Often is already a damage boost.

nah if a better dot trigger comes out kafka is definitely gonna get kicked simply because a harmony or nihility character would probably provide better utility than she does. buffs like atk res pen or def shred is most likely going to be better than triggering the dot, like, another time especially with the fact kafka does not really buff dot's damage as well.

I feel Kafka can only be power creeped if they just make characters who has a 100% dot fast rate on all their kids (who ignores defense) and just a higher attack and damage stat.
I don't ever have the thought that gatcha games will keep things sacred. They will eventually powercreep kafka because thats the nature of the practice and for profit, even if she's a fan favorite.

She could be powercraft very easily, but only if they decide to directly make another version of black Swan her abilities are very distinct well they might not always be the best very distinct character
Right now the best Kafka team is one sustain, Black Swan, Ruan Mei and Kafka. if we ever get another Kafka Ruan Mei will be replaced with that unit. Funnily enough If they release another DoT triggerer character they'll permanently kill simulated universe for DoT teams. Kafka right now Deals some insane damage and can charge up the Path resonance with one ult. Nihility path with Kafka is busted. If they add another one I cant imagine how easy Simulated universe will be.
actually kafka isn't the mc's mom keep in mind the game we were playing she tells you one answer that's true and one that's a lie the answer of you being her child is a lie she's actually mc's mentor and blade afterward tells us about how we'd follow kafka around in missions it was probably to strengthen mc's combat skills

can anyone give me advice on what i should do, im saving rn but i have kafka black swan but NO five star healers, do i wait for a healer like huo huo , spend on fu xuan banner (i do have an acheron team too) or save for ruan mei, or do i summon robin?
All of them are still great Units. Fu xuan is probably the most versitile since shes a great Tank but also gives 12% crit which nearly all characters want (well except Kafka xD) when they stick to the initial Release rotation then next Patch should be Huohuo and Argenti Rerun and Huhuo would also je a great addition. Kafka loves her and she fits even in an Acheron Team as Healer, CC immunity and ATK buff and Energy Battery for your other Teammates. Ruan Mei should be in 2.4 (but could also fit in 2.3 since she is also the perfect match for upcoming Firefly)
I would go for either Huohuo or Ruan Mei. If you really struggle in MoC then probably Fuxuan or Huohuo
Upcoming 3 limited characters are all DPS. If you enjoy DOT team then go for Huo Huo, and if you want to join the Meta Break then use Gallagher for now. Ruan Mei currently has more value than Robin because Break Team will definitely be OP for the few upcoming patches so better pull her instead of Robin 😅

Unless we get another character capable of triggering DoT's it is highly unlikely. That being said the unit that hold on the best I think among the eaely game units is probably silverwolf.
I haven't used my silverwolf in such a long long time, I found that having other characters helped me more than having silverwolf, for example, ruan mei, bronya, sparkle, etc. somehow pump my damage higher than silverwolf.
That being said I'm not saying silverwolf has already been powercrept, but it's just not comfortable enough with her core kit being a single target. Plus almost all the new dps char e,g. Boothill, firefly have a create weakness mechanic built onto their kit, snd others such as acheron simply pierces toughness regardless of weakness,

No one knows at this point, but since she recently got a rerun in 1.6 (3 patches ago), it could be a while before she gets another one.

Powercreep Kafka is not actually that hard, making a character that can also trigger DoT of others element but the trigger DMG is higher than the initial DoT DMG it self. Let make this imaginary character, and named her Kafka 2.0. Kafka 2.0 is a DoT/Crit Hybird character, when she use her skill or ultimate she can trigger DoT DMG and that DMG can crit, dealing a much higher DMG than the initial hit. Kafka 2.0 will want to be pair with a character that have high DoT DMG, well Kafka DoT DMG is high but when another DoT Character release then Kafka DoT will probably fall of. Kafka can trigger Kafka 2.0 DoT, but since the base DMG of Kafka 2.0's DoT is low, the DMG Kafka can contribute to the team won't be that much. Triple DoT is a things, I know but I think the DMG ceiling of Triple DoT won't be better than Double DoT pair with a Harmony character 🔱
I find it funny how all these vids are popping up about "will this unit be powercrept?" Did Acheron and Aventurine make people realize this is a turned base gacha game with little design creativity that will resort to power creeping everything to make sales.
