Hi Heather, I was watching your previous video about blankets and that was something interested to me but when I check shops selling blankets I was disappointed. Shops selling a blanket 50x60" at $29 (actual selling price) and free shipping. I run numbers and if I don't calculate 15% outside Etsy ads, I loose $8. How are all these shops able to sell it that cheap and of course they are selling almost 1200 blankets per month
Some of the shops are not print on demand and are hand made so that's one thing to note. I am currently looking at a few bestsellers of the 50 by 60 personalized blankets that the sellers are selling at $40 to $47 sale price for the 50 by 60. Spoke sells for 18.39 with Printify Premium as an example of production fees for the 50 by 60. I am not going to directly link this listing here to not flood their shop with nonbuyers but I'm looking at a bestseller listing selling for $47.64 minky 50 by 60 inch blanket that's gotten 103 sales in the past 24 hours. IF they are using POD services and lets say hypothetically Printify, that's 28.61 profit before etsy transaction & processing. Minus 3.10 for etsy transaction and another 1.43 for processing fees that's $24.08 estimated profit that this seller did potentially over $2400 profit with in 24 hours. You can subtract ads such as offsite or other but you still ocme out with a profit. Through this example the key takeaway is you shouldn't lose money by a sale and being competitive. If you want to sell minky blankets at a profit- which you should- then I would never suggest lowering your price to be the lowest price, that's not what I've ever taught. The competitive pricing is a factor, but not a huge one in your potential customers decision making. The perceived value(what they think it's worth) is the most important factor to focus on and you can increase perceived value with high quality mockup photos and reviews over time. Hopefully this helps!
@@Laura-je2uw I'd suggest checking out my comment I just made here, there is profit if you price correctly like other bestsellers I saw today. I do not believe you should be selling things at a loss if your a POD shop owner and you can have a viable business model and still can be competitive.
Most Printify print provider domestic deadlines are December 12th and international November 17th besides Canada that is November 28th. This varies per POD provider and that status is here if you scroll down on the Printify page: printify.com/network-fulfillment-status/
Shjo Heather. I have been watching your videos helping me learn the how to of POD and Etsy and this one feels like it was reading my mind in what I have been feeling and what I need. I am a corporate exec feeling somewhat entrapped by my payslip given my passion is to be a creative entrepreneur and I am now truly inspired with these five simple tips for pivoting my strategy. Thank you for your content.
I've been doing the frequent break idea for years. It really does help productivity. Need to learn more about time blocking. I do not currently work outside the home but I do watch my grandbaby every other week ( full time those weeks), so those weeks my output for pod is next to nothing!
Officially hacked my workflow. This is over the top relevant!
Woohoo!!! 🎉 Thanks for commenting and supporting my channel ❤
