@@timkasansky2528 It certainly is real, only idiots who don't know shit keep saying it is fake. The fact this is running the PC version, with added geometry, at 480p with 30fps now is mind-blowingly awesome.

I hope you can figure out a better way to stream textures or re-do the menus and UI eventually because they're so low res it hurts lol This will take a lot of custom-tailored code for the PVR I assume.
we just blanket reduced the quality of everything to make it fit crudely. we'll be going back and actually adjusting things later, this is very very early
it's a work in progress. this is the work of like 5 guys in their free time over 2 weeks. give it time before comparing it to a vita port done by a professional team over months.
Does the hardware have such low amount of VRAM that every texture has to look like ass or is it only to speed up loading times? I'm not familiar with the console at all.
we just blanket reduced all textures to fit without any scrutiny, just to get it running. we'll be adjusting the quality back upwards in due time. this is like 2 weeks into development

being worked on right now. this is a port from the PC version and there are considerable sound differences between Windows PCs and the Dreamcast so sound was disabled until the base game was brought up.
" assets loaded from IDE SSD" .. PS2 DVD is significantly faster than DC GD ROM and even then it is barely enough for runtime streaming data ! So I would wait to celebrate.
@@darcagn I'll tell you very slowly. PS2 DVD is at least 3 times faster than GD ROM. The much higher capacity of the PS2 DVD allows multiple storage /!!/ of the same data to make reading even faster. And even then it's not enough and the game would need a HDD. See GTA SA ! GD ROM does not have the speed and capacity of a DVD, it has to read the SAME data as PS2 but it will have no performance problem ! Let me laugh and get ready for a significant reduction in the quality of game assets !
@@gurujoe75 Like I said, we have it running fine already from CD-R, without even optimizing the file layout or padding to areas of the disc that have faster access. Those who cannot create waste time tearing down those who do.
It looks as if you had a unity game and all the values for the graphics where lowered to the lowest possible. In all honesty I really don't see a point in this. If they really wanted it running on the DreamCast they would have to sort of redraw everything and adjusting it for which ever game engine it's running on the DreamCast... There's ACTUAL work to do, to do it doable in the platform, from modeling an equivalent 3D environment and it's assets, to jamming in code to actually make things run... I don't really see any one wanting to play the game like that.
You have to keep in mind that it is not a finished job. In fact, the revolution is incredible and I am sure that in the end there will be a magnificent version of the dreamcast.
It sounds like you're under the impression this is a fan remake. It's not. It's the original GTA3 for PC decompiled and then ported to Dreamcast. "If they really wanted it running on Dreamcast"? @@themobilelab4663 This doesnt showcase anything. To be fair GTA 3 was never a great looking game to begin with it, even for 2001 standards, it has worse textures and models than some late PS1 games. Now if you make a Jak 1 port or Metal Gear Solid 2 without downgrades, then that would be something worth to talk about it.

The game is sooo broken visually, that's what a like to see. Kinda like RTC corruption
Is the ps vita more powerful than the dreamcast? Or just different architecture or something. Gta3 runs so well on the vita in comparison.
Yes, Vita is more powerful (and more modern)
