This is a very good project. The average Nigerian will benefit from the investment opportunities that come to Nigeria because of this. This will rebrand Nigeria as the gateway to Africa. I'm a Naija and I'm happy to see this happen.

What an achievement for Nigeria “Nigeria is the second Champagne consumer in the world” What a parochial comment, this is the problem we have in Nigeria, people only see and think one way.
I see majority of you guys are the same citizens that lavish praises on Fashola for his toll gate. The man expanded the road, but tolled it to slow down traffic more than how it was. When our government start developing infrastructure that will benefit the lives of ordinary Nigerian you can let me know.

We can't continue to hope and pray for jobs and development of our country. This was privately funded by NIGERIAN businesses. This was us creating something for ourselves in order to continue to diversify our economy away from just oil. Look at what Fashola has been doing all over Lagos. Lighting, roads, housing. We have over 50% of our population unemployed and the job sector has to be built. Let's face it, Nigeria will never become an agriculturally based economy again.

It's privately funded by Nigerian not the government.

You are short sighted. This project will provide a lot of employment. This is not a government funded project, and this is why it will succeed. As a gateway to Africa, it will create jobs for the youths, from hotel to industries Fashola, the best governor in Nigeria, and our hope for the future. Eko o ni ba je o.

The West has just endorsed another failure in Nigeria! My question is how does this project better the lives of average Nigerians? I am disapointed in President Clinton for attending this stupid project. President Cliton is for Middle class, but average Nigerian will never be able to buy grocery in this place.

@africadummskull i forgot adding this, Nigeria is the second Champagne consumer in the world, now ask yourself again if an average Nigerian can not buy a grocery there, then who will? abi no be shoprite an co go dey inside?

Nope. It is not Jonathan's project, it is Fashola project. Jonathan has no other choice other to be there to see a project created by the mighty Fashola.

@africaconexion Please stop being negative and just plain dumb. This project will not immediately improve the lot of ordinary Nigerians except for those labourers working directly on the project. But it will serve as a platform for more business and FDI investment. This will bring more jobs to ordinary Nigerians that you seek. If it worked in Singapore and Shenzen it will work in Lagos.
