There is a lot of greed and envy out there. Love is the one who set that whole ordeal up. She’s the one who called to have an alarm system put in so they would find him. She knew he was leaving her. She is evil 😈
So jealous you got to see river live. Love that guy so much. I’ve seen every doc done about him. His story is tragic and although he had his struggles, he was an empath and a deeply loving human.
Kurt’s wallet wasn’t open with his DL showing when police found him. One of the first-responders posed his license like that for the crime scene photos as that was a s.o.p. when applicable, at the time.
River used to hang out in the quad at U of F in Gainesville when I was in school there. He was a cool guy and was definitely a loss for the world. He only lived a little less than five years after I met him. I’ve never heard the story that way. If true, that’s infuriating. I always read the he did an 8 ball of coke and also heroin in the bathroom. One of River’s best and underrated films was “The Thing Called Love”. Samantha Mathis and Sandra Bullock costarred.
This is going to become one of my favourite episodes so far. Brilliant job as always. Sometimes I think Chris could convince me the earth is flat, haha!!! Love his style.
It's been almost 30yrs since Kurt died & I still listen to him sing over & over! His voice saved me in my time of pain & abuse. I felt like he knew what I was going thru. It still hurts to see & hear his name to this day! I hope he's partying it up with the Angels!! RIP Kurt Cobain Rock on brother!!💙🤘
This is one of my favorite crime channels up there with that chapter…I wish there was a way you all could do a collab!!!! Thank you for the smart consistent crime stories
Man. You guys RULE. And you clearly work for it. I NEVER pass up a TRUE CRIME RECAPS video. I also really appreciate the way that you both speak with compassion and empathy while maintaining, somehow, a light heartedness that doesn't make you want to completely give up on humankind (unlike most true crime shows).
I find it ironic that when the house was searched with the detective and Kurt's friend, friend took detective (I cannot remember their names) to EVERY ROOM in the estate EXCEPT the room Kurt was in. And let's not forget Kristen Pfaff (I may have misspelled her name there). She died as well. Courtney accused Kirt of an affair with her. She leaves Hole, and was moving home and was clean. BOOM! Dead of an OD. Sorry. I just have questions I do not believe Kurt killed himself. There. I SAID IT.
Yes!!! I agree ☝️ there’s so many red flags 🚩 the practice sheet and more, the note that said “get arrested” even CL’s attorney suspected her. CL sending a company to install security lights exactly where KC was found. CL’s ties to the SPD. The list goes on and on. I always hated how jealous CL was about any female being around Kurt, yet she surrendered herself with her ex boyfriends as paid help and band mates. No wonder Trent Rezner was/is terrified of her. I personally believe El Douce. All these deaths are so, so sad 😞
True crime and rock music. I freaking love it!! I was a teen in the 90s and a big nirvana fan. Followed the case over the years. Courtney was always my guess. Thank you for another banger of a recap. Big dirty devil love 🤘🏻😈❤
We’re from the PNW and seemed like everyone up here was side eyeing Courtney for it. Assuming you’ve seen the documentaries about it?? Some very bizarre stuff.
I swear I have studied true crime for YEARS, I’m talking in depth dives into these topics since I about 15 for like 12 years and I STILL find new things out when I watch these videos. God I love this Chanel !
I also worked in the music industry for a number of years, & never heard some of the details you brought to light in this video. My mother always swore Hendrix was murdered, but never offered up any explanation of this claim. I'd never heard really ANY details about River Phoenix's death (although I was VERY active in the whole scene there on the Sunset Strip in those days). I can't believe I'd never heard about the possible John Fruscante connection! And with Kurt, as far as I'm concerned, whether Courtney hired someone to kill him or he really killed himself, she is responsible for his death, period. Thanks for this upload. I REALLY enjoyed it a lot, & learned some stuff for sure! ✌️
River was always my favorite growing up. I always thought there was something suspicious about his death. Someone handing him a drink makes perfect sense. Btw... It was his sister Rain that was with them that night... Not Summer.
You and Amy sure know how to present and deliver your recaps with a style that I have not seen before and I've seen a lot! Your presentation and execution to each of your recaps are astounding.
I'm here..AGAIN LOL 😀 Hey Chris!! I LOVE hearing about these young stars that passed at a young age! Especially IF they're some of my favorites..like River! It's SO sad to me that most were drug related! Like the "27 Club" like Jimmy Hendrix..Amy Whinehouse...Curt Cobain..Jim Morrisson and Janice Joplin! I'm sure I'm forgetting some but it's sad to say the least! Especially since I grew up listening to to ALL the great rockers! Some of their deaths DO sound suspish! By the way.. The fact you hung out with rock stars just makes you that much cooler 😆 I legit look for to these video's every week! Oh yeah... Amy's pretty awesome too ❤ Love y'all!!
I was not even 4 yet when River Phoenix died; I've seen his movies, but I never knew he was in a band, and I'm SUPER JEALOUS that you not only got to see him play, but you went to the first ever Lalapalooza. You are SO LUCKY!!!
Chris and Amy you do phenomenal work here on two crime recaps. I appreciate this channel and I look forward to each and every new video I watch and I always like to go back to make sure that I watched all of them. Thank you so much Chris and Amy!
I've seen that documentary on Curt Cobain and it solidified my belief that Courtney had him killed. I've always thought Hendrix's and Phoenix's deaths were suspicious but this is the first time I'm learning about the details from the Viper Room. It's sounds extremely suspicious. But I'm wondering why his siblings have never spoken out over the years if they saw him be handed a cup that he drank. Or were they maybe occupied visiting other people in the room and didn't witness it?? Idk. But all very suspicious. Thanks for the recap! I love your channel! That would be so amazing to tour with bands. Especially rock and metal bands!

Thanks for bringing the folks in your videos to life for your viewers. You always do an outstanding job with new unheard details detailing the folks that you air. I look forward to your videos. When a case is unsolved could you always have it on the header? I try to avoid them before I sleep...so that I can go to sleep with a pease of mind. Much appreciated!
What a great recap. I didn’t know that much about these cases. All three of these are crazy. What’s sad is we will never truly know. Many blessings and take care!
@14:35 it was the officers on the scene who pulled out his wallet with his ID out for photos. The coroner was an old music scene buddy of Courtney’s. Don Cameron was a corrupt cop who retired before he was exposed for planting evidence at a completely unrelated crime scene years later. The death of Kristen Pfaff a couple months later is also sus. Courtney finally admitted that Kurt wanted a divorce before he died. Nobody leaves Courtney and lives to tell the tale.
I. unfortunately at now 58, have been taking morphine for serious chronic pain from Hyperflexia and numerous accidents from my very active youth through skiing, rock climbing and sports. I bring this up because I am _required_ to have a medication in my home at all times that stops the effects of an opiate overdose. All places where illicit opiate use such as heroin is permitted should be required to have access to this medication - usually in nasal spray form - called Narcan. I mourn River Phoenix who I remember well and his death was a shock to all of his fans in the early 90s. Tragedies such as this can be averted if they'd just have had access to this medicine. If you're planning to use any opiate illicitly, please bear this in mind. Dealers don't care if you die, but I do. God Bless!
I think ENVY killed River and his brother and sister knows who did it. Courtney killed him or hired so.eone to do it, she was always crazy 🤪Don't even get me started with Jimmy!
Janis Joplin's death suspicious.. too. Her speech at the Kaleidoscope told the crowd that agents were against her. She was crying and asked crowd to leave.
River was NOT a damn ROCKSTAR.. he was a dope fiend who slammed dope on a night out( because his life was so terrible, you know because its hard being a famous millionaire) and he had 2 different kinds of dope in his blood. C'mon man. Its ridiculous how people try to make it so special when someone dies when they're famous. What about joe blow that died yesterday in Anytown USA? We need to make a video about him or her too.
John Bannister the E.R. doctor who tended to Hendrix when he was brought in said Hendrix basically drown in red wine. “The amount of wine that was over him was just extraordinary. Not only was it saturated right through his hair and shirt but his lungs and stomach were absolutely full of wine. I have never seen so much wine,” He said it was completely possible that Hendrix was murdered with wine.
Had lots of friends die from OD its always after they've been clean or sober for a while then think they can do the same amount they used to and its always too much RIP
Was a big fan of river especially after STAND BY ME ..you could just tell he had a great future..such a shame 😕 FANTASTIC RECAP 👏 cheers 🍻 so much more details 👍 than we knew 👍 👏
I wish you and Amy would make more content similar to this... Like more about the 27 club, other strange celebrity deaths, or maybe more shady viper room stories 🤔😉
This is a great introduction to the details surrounding these suspicious and tragic cases, hopefully podcasts like yours will encourage more people to look into the detail of these cases and understand all is not what it seems. There are so many weird inconsistencies that you can’t begin to mention them all but for further details surrounding Kurt’s case, such as the suspicious backpack Courtney left at her lawyer’s house read “Love and Death” by Wallace and Halperin, along with Soaked in Bleach (Tom Grant as mentioned) or for more about Courtney ‘s childhood and life, the book “Love Kills” by Hank Harrison who said Courtney had always said she was going to “Kill a rock star.” You can look at her life and see the violence, manipulative silencing behaviour and vendettas that she has carried out to see what she is capable of.
Chris and Amy - can you please cover the Isiah Silva case that I believe is due back in court in Feb 22? This is really chilling as in the allegations, Courtney sent thugs to Isiah's LA home to beat him up, restrain/kidnap him and possibly worse. Isiah is the ex-husband of Kurt & Courtney's daughter Frances. A friend escaped and Isiah survived. If the court gives credence to the claims, it will add a whole new light to Cobain's death and the El Duce claims as it will look a lot like a pattern of behaviour on Courtney's behalf. One of Courtney's goons was Sam Lutfi, who earlier set himself up as "protector" of Britney Spears back in her troubled times.
I am loving these videos on pop culture deaths. So interesting to know the real story and not just the rumors that have been passed down through the years.
I'm on binge it seems & I'm paused right before we get into it... I'd love to know which bands you've toured with🤓 (if mentioned already or oncoming, I apologize😊).. now, onto the next case🙃. (if people didn't suck, there wouldn't be any of these folders😪)
Very interesting; the lives of Rock & Roll stars will always be filled with both mystery, deception & drugs. It's a way of life often unable to be recounted consistently. Add that with the excess of drugs & alcohol to both the Star & enablers sometimes it's easier to forget than to remember I've always thought Courtney Love was mixed up in Kurt's death. She stood to lose it all if he divorced her which you said he was planning to do. Without saying again as you confirmed Kurt was known for his heroin addiction. He had no interest in being in rehab
Because they were all drug addicts. They were going to die at a young age anyway. Youth, lots of money and lots of drugs are a bad combo when all you have surrounding you are leeches that just want you to buy their drugs for them. Addicts don't give a crap about anyone except themselves and don't care when they die. They move on to the next loser that will pay for their habit.
Thanks for another great upload! I’ve heard before that Kurt’s death was shady, I was a huge Nirvana fan and it was a shock when he died in ‘94. That writing in the letter is a red flag plus no fingerprints, he shoots up a load of smack but tidily puts his kit away… no way. I didn’t realise the machinations behind River’s death - the media passed it off as a James Dean style self fulfilling prophecy. Wtf with the hippy/sex childhood 🤯 tho maybe explains why Joaquin Phoenix is doing these hippy commune experiences. But Jimmy?! Wow that is seriously messed up. Wth wasn’t it investigated at the time? All 3 gents are legends whose lives have been cut short, before their prime. May they Rest In Peace ✌🏻
What do you think? Are these deaths suspicious to you?
They were suspicious to me even before this video. But, now that I've seen your video, I'm even more suspicious. This is such a shame though, lives gone way too soon.

We’re big fans of Joaquin Phoenix, but agreed…there’s no one like River.
@@TrueCrimeRecaps he was a special person indeed. Love Joaquin as well. Talented family. Thanks for telling these stories and telling them well 🙏🏼
@@TrueCrimeRecaps Joaquin was fantastic in Walk The Line - a movie about the life of Johnny Cash.
😂😂
River Phoenix is one of my favorite artists/actors. I love that you told his story truthfully and with respect. Amazing video!
Thanks so much that's high paise!
Some very bizarre stuff.
yes they did. so did his mother
River: an unfortunate stupid death but not murder…Kurt: totally 100% murder with cover up. It wasn’t suicide… Jimi: ?
Top Episode! Jimmy, Kurt & River...Victims of Showbiz Sharks 💀💀 🦈🦈💀💀
Good true crime segment! Loved this one. Very interesting. Thank you!
Really appreciate you watching. Any theories on these cases?
Hi Chris, good to see you again. Another great video.
Look into Bon Scott death . Sort of same.
This was GREAT!
🙏
River was always my favorite growing up. I always thought there was something suspicious about his death. Someone handing him a drink makes perfect sense. Btw... It was his sister Rain that was with them that night... Not Summer.
You and Amy sure know
how to present and deliver your recaps with a style that I have not seen before and I've seen a lot!
Your presentation and execution to each of your recaps are astounding.
Stand by me & My own private Idaho are my fave River Phoenix's movie too.
Ohh nice about the last part. I'm in Seattle and our school visited a Jimi Hendrix experience at a music museum.
Kurt's license wasn't left out. It was a responding cop that took it out of the wallet and put it there
I'm here..AGAIN LOL 😀 Hey Chris!!
The fact you hung out with rock stars just makes you that much cooler 😆
I legit look for to these video's every week!
Oh yeah... Amy's pretty awesome too ❤
Love y'all!!
You are too cool, thank you Tonya!🧡
Amazing Show !!! Thank You sooooo very much 🤗✌️
I love listening to both you and Amy. You really paint a clear picture of what happened in all the cases you talk about. Thank you.
I really like ur videos and I kno it’s true crime in half the time but really digging this long video bro great job!
I was not even 4 yet when River Phoenix died; I've seen his movies, but I never knew he was in a band, and I'm SUPER JEALOUS that you not only got to see him play, but you went to the first ever Lalapalooza. You are SO LUCKY!!!
This is the best video 🥳🤩, love the content/info. Xx Amy & Chris
Chris and Amy you do phenomenal work here on two crime recaps. I appreciate this channel and I look forward to each and every new video I watch and I always like to go back to make sure that I watched all of them. Thank you so much Chris and Amy!
River and James Dean just absolutely phenomenal talents, and enormous losses.
Hey Chris. I too have worked with rock bands usually as a personal assistant. Very hard work.
As a die hard rock roll fan, gotta say, thank you for these stories! And to Kurt, Jimi and River...Rock in Peace ~
I just wanted to let you know it's Kurt Cobain. Have a pleasant day/night! 💙
@@phaedraremington6247 it's hard to care about spelling errors when you have brain fog and TBIs.
@@heidimedel I have brain issues also after being shot in the head.
@@phaedraremington6247 I'm sorry. Mine are from being strangled, punched in the back of the head repeatedly, pistol whipped, child abuse, iatragenic injuries, and cptsd.
@@phaedraremington6247 I find it interesting how many of us who survived trauma are drawn to true crime.
I'm glad you brought up John most don't talk about it or say it was something else. They were drug buddies. It makes sense and he was there outside. Joaquin says john once on the 911 call. Plus many accounts say John was trashed as it was his first show post RHCP
Wow! Thanks for the great info. I didn't know any of this.
Oh wow!! That really makes more sense now on Jimmi.... Thank u so much. Love this video..
✌🏼
Another great episode. Hey Amy! Those Warby Parker glasses....I have the "Wilkie" also ! Warby Parker have great service.
That means so much, thank you!
Great show, I'm so happy you did these stories!
What a great recap. I didn’t know that much about these cases. All three of these are crazy. What’s sad is we will never truly know. Many blessings and take care!
If you watch enough true crime, you know that a self inflicted gun shot using a rifle is ALWAYS questionable.
Another stellar historical ReCap!!! Great info on Jimi's mysterious death. Thank you Amie and Chris...X & Gratitude from Canada :)
Wow! This was really good! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
I. unfortunately at now 58, have been taking morphine for serious chronic pain from Hyperflexia and numerous accidents from my very active youth through skiing, rock climbing and sports.
God Bless!
Thank you for a job well done through out 2021. I hope that 2022 will bring you all t he best that life has to offer. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you both.
That was a great video!
Love all your videos!
We appreciate you Shannon!
I really enjoyed this video Chris! I definitely learned new information on each case.
🙌
John Bannister the E.R. doctor who tended to Hendrix when he was brought in said Hendrix basically drown in red wine. “The amount of wine that was over him was just extraordinary. Not only was it saturated right through his hair and shirt but his lungs and stomach were absolutely full of wine. I have never seen so much wine,” He said it was completely possible that Hendrix was murdered with wine.
This was just so good.
Omg you guy's did another good one
Love your channel
You guys are the best ❤✌
Thank you so much 😀
Had lots of friends die from OD its always after they've been clean or sober for a while then think they can do the same amount they used to and its always too much RIP
Yup that’s what happen to my friend. Went to Rehab and was clean for like two months. Then used and OD in the bathroom.
This was a really great short wrap up of these stories. Nobody talks about this, I'm amazed they haven't. It's interesting to ponder at the least.
Hey that’s cool that you tour with bands! Love this channel and podcast.
Fantastic story! Thank you!
Damn Chris is a rockboi too!? We see you Chris
It wasn't Summer who was that night with River, it was his other sister Rain!
This is a great introduction to the details surrounding these suspicious and tragic cases, hopefully podcasts like yours will encourage more people to look into the detail of these cases and understand all is not what it seems. There are so many weird inconsistencies that you can’t begin to mention them all but for further details surrounding Kurt’s case, such as the suspicious backpack Courtney left at her lawyer’s house read “Love and Death” by Wallace and Halperin, along with Soaked in Bleach (Tom Grant as mentioned) or for more about Courtney ‘s childhood and life, the book “Love Kills” by Hank Harrison who said Courtney had always said she was going to “Kill a rock star.”
You can look at her life and see the violence, manipulative silencing behaviour and vendettas that she has carried out to see what she is capable of.
Oh, I was so in love with River Phoenix when I was little. Taken way too soon.
I love your voice : ) I. can hear you talk all day! Love your channel. Your wife is lovely too : ) please keep the vids coming!
This was great!!! I am a huge Hendrix fan ❤️❤️❤️
i cried so much when River died. I'd love to hear more about bands you worked with.
I've actually never heard the River Phoenix story, I don't know how. Thank you so much for your in-dept content on all your work
I Love you and Amy's channel. I'm 63 so I remember all these. River was amazing... Love from Kansas ❤️💜
I am loving these videos on pop culture deaths. So interesting to know the real story and not just the rumors that have been passed down through the years.
Wow, who knew? Thanks for the great content.
I'm on binge it seems & I'm paused right before we get into it... I'd love to know which bands you've toured with🤓 (if mentioned already or oncoming, I apologize😊).. now, onto the next case🙃. (if people didn't suck, there wouldn't be any of these folders😪)
1st time I've seen your show WOW I love it ❤
Pretty fantastic. Really interesting and so well done. TY.
WOW!!! You hear so many different stories but you answered a lot of questions I had about the day of his death. 🤨🤔🙄
Very interesting; the lives of Rock & Roll stars will always be filled with both mystery, deception & drugs. It's a way of life often unable to be recounted consistently. Add that with the excess of drugs & alcohol to both the Star & enablers sometimes it's easier to forget than to remember
I've always thought Courtney Love was mixed up in Kurt's death. She stood to lose it all if he divorced her which you said he was planning to do. Without saying again as you confirmed Kurt was known for his heroin addiction. He had no interest in being in rehab
The saddest thing about these cases is that nobody was ever arrested nor will they be
Because they were all drug addicts.
