This movie has become my guilty pleasure. It's Beauty and the Beast, Jane Eyre and Phantom of the Opera all rolled into one. ❤ I just can't understand why they went to all the trouble of getting the actors to speak English...but then dub their voices over anyway? I can only guess that it was thought their accents were still too strong or something. 🤔 I saw Alessandro Preziosi in Medici on Netflix and he was dubbed again (same actor of course)....and yet you'd think a show set in Italy would want an Italian accent. I still love it!
Yes, definitely a French fairy tale - we have perfume, a chateau, a kind of Dangerous Liaisons plot, the suppression of peasants by bad aristocrats and their uprising, I love it 😊. And ironically it's done by Spanish and Italians! 😁
Did you see the Cinderella one yet? I think you would like it. It actually is an Italy around the time of the 1950s I think but the prince is from Austria.
