Thanks for this video. Was clear and to the point. Two things: I wish you had mentioned the size of the blade you were using. And I set up the name I am going to carve in MS Word or Powerpoint, then print that on a full-page sticky label. I then apply blue tape to my wood and stick the label to it. The label + tape then comes off easily after scrolling, and leaves no residue to clean off. The blue tape also adds a little lubrication to the process. This way you have unlimited fonts without cutting and maintaining stencils. Oh. Third thing: I make sure the bottom edge of my project is straight and smooth (table saw here) and place the label about 1/4” from that edge. This leaves a base for the letters to stand on. Ok, fourth thing: sand both sides of the wood before scrolling.
Good tips. I bought a gross of blades about 20 years ago, I think they were #5. I just got more Olson blades, #9 skiptooth. Not too dond of the skiptooth. They don't last as long
I try to find the animals although I'm not always successfull. Please watch my previous videos. I have been doing them for 2+ years and have captured many animals on video. Thanks for watching and I value your input. Please continue to comment and steer my channel in the right direction.
I'm a newbie so I'll leave it to you to pick what and how. How do I know if I've got the right tension on the blade? Is there a list for this blade for this kinda wood, etc,,.
The blade description will tell you what it's applications are. And for tension, when cutting the stock, if the blade bends more than 1/8" you need to tighten it. For the soft wood I reccomend a #9, but not a skiptooth. They are good at removing sawdust but because they only have half as many teeth, they don't last as long. Olson or Flying Dutchman are the brands I suggest.
Hey Regular Guy. Great vid, very informative. Really like your Dremel scroll saw- tension arm is upfront - nice!. Could you please tell what year/model# it is and where it can be found online? Thank you.
I bought this guy about 15 years ago, maybe more. A year ago I simply wore it out and looked on FB marketplace tonget another one. I swapped out the table since I honed it down and now try to keep it oiled.
Hi very nice job. I love your mustache. I want to buy my scroll saw. What brand do you recommend? How long does it take to make what you made ? How did you make your stencils? Can I buy them on Amazon? I appreciate your input.
Thanks. I appreciate the input. I find a font on my pc that I like and use that. I do have an extra set I can sell you. Send me and email to ckozerski@aol.com and put stencils in the subject, I can give you more info there.
I would. I have some very thin .04" of an inch clear. A set of upper and lower case letters and numbers zero thru nine and asking $100 with free shipping. I can also make it out of 1/8" doorskin plywood for the same price.
I did cut them myself. I used a thin acrylic from amazon. Not sure of the thickness. But don't use clear, if you drop one or set it down it's hard to see when you need it again.
I found a font on my pc a dozen years ago and had to modify it to be able to connect them seemlessly. Then I settled on the size and cut my own templates. Over the years they go kinda broke up so I just cut a new set a few months ago.
I could see what he was cutting. Slow down the video speed if you need to. It's really hard to do a task that requires both hands and material and video it where you can see everything clearly, just not possible.
Just picked up my saw last night can’t wait to get started
Mark yes on the Olson blades. #5 reverse tooth will do most of your work. Order a gross from the Olson website
Wow that's awesome and so is your moustache mate
Thank you from England 👍👌👏
Thanks. I appreciate that.
New scroller, very helpful, thanks!!
Sure. The biggest thing I see is the blades. Olson or flying dutchma
Thank you sir! Ordered!!
Nice job! I like the way you keep it short and simple. Liked how you told what type of blades you were using.
Thank you Mr. Boylan. I've been doing it for so long that it's all muscle memory.
Thank you Mr. Boylan. I've been doing it for so long it's all muscle memory.
So informative I love how you explained everything thank you so much 😮
I try to be complete in my descriptions. As always, I am happy to answer any questions.
Brilliant im saving for a scroll saw cant wait .top tash too boss
Thanks Mr. Anderson. I try to do the best I can. Just keep at it and never be afraid to add detail.
Nicely done
Thank you. I make it a point not to make things too generic or plain. Adding some charactor always helps.
Good video, fantastic moustache
LMFAO !! Thanks.

It's a shame you don't do more scrolling videos!
Ask and you shall receive.

Sure. I have some 1/8" wood stencils I can send you if you are interested.

Woao!!! Very quickly! Amazing. Nice job man.
Thanks. Been doing it for a minute.
Very nice video, I like it.
Thanks. I will try and do some more.
I enjoyed your video.
Thanks. Any questions?
Awesome...can you make more videos like this?

Nice scrolling there Regular Guy !! 🙋🏽💞☺
Thanks Time
Simple, never thought to just find a stencil and go for it! I over complicate things!
I looked on my computer and found a font I liked. I did have to modify it a bit but I made it work. Then made my own.
I'm a newbie so I'll leave it to you to pick what and how. How do I know if I've got the right tension on the blade? Is there a list for this blade for this kinda wood, etc,,.

What would yo sell it for { how much }? What is the font? Thank you!!
I ask $2 per letter. The upper case are 2" tall and I found a font on my computer 20 years ago and modified it for my use.

I like that font! Is it Cooper Black Italic? Nice work.
Not sure. I chose it out of my computer decades ago and modified it.
Hi... can I buy those stencils you have their.... or where I can get them... please please reply...Tom in Florida
Hi Tom. Please email me at Ckozerski@aol.com

What kind of blade do you use?? Is a spiral blade good ? Thanks!
Would you be willing to make and sell a set of your name templates cut out of acrylic?
I would. I have some very thin .04" of an inch clear. A set of upper and lower case letters and numbers zero thru nine and asking $100 with free shipping. I can also make it out of 1/8" doorskin plywood for the same price.
Starting out
Keep at it. And don't worry about nicking your finger, you will.
Where do you get your patterns
Great work! How do you place letters that drop under the line like g, y, j, or p? Do you have to use all caps?
Great question. I simply stand them up on the line.
That is a mustache an half
Thanks. I appreciate that.
What is the font of the letters that you are using. Did you cut them out yourself? If so what kind of acrylic did you use?
I did cut them myself. I used a thin acrylic from amazon. Not sure of the thickness. But don't use clear, if you drop one or set it down it's hard to see when you need it again.
Where can I find that type of letters
I found a font on my pc a dozen years ago and had to modify it to be able to connect them seemlessly. Then I settled on the size and cut my own templates. Over the years they go kinda broke up so I just cut a new set a few months ago.
Sorry 2 dozen years ago.
Regular guys don't have a mustach like that and wear a witch's hat.
A witches hat!?? LMFAO !!! Agreed on the mustache but the fedora has never been associated with witches. Gangsters maybe . . .
What is the type of wood
I usually use pine/fir.
Good video. By the way did you know that, in the UK, if a man describes himself as 'regular', it means his bowel habits are consistent. 😉
LOL !! Then my name fits. 🤣👍Thanks for watching.
Back ground music to loud, couldn’t see what you were cutting , what’s the point if you can’t see ?
Sorry about those things. Still trying to figure it all out.
I could see what he was cutting. Slow down the video speed if you need to. It's really hard to do a task that requires both hands and material and video it where you can see everything clearly, just not possible.
IS YOUR MUSTACHE REAL?
Indeed it is. Murray's bees wax helps me keep it under control.
really don't like the background soundtrack - unnecessary and intrusive.
Agreed. Years later and I am still playing with the limits of the formats.
What type blade do you use, (number of teeth for that thickness of wood).?
Thanks for the video. Will give it a try
I thought the music was fine. Some folks just live to complain.
