For those saying its similar to blackpink at the ending. I would say the ending part is yg style not blackpink 😂. Only yg does it. Pretty sure that style never gonna change unless yang suk and all of the producers quit producing 😂. And hire all new producers but you know that would never happen cause its working

Original kpop sounds like yg? Kpop was always diverse. This kind of sound is only exclusive for YG who keep doing the same repetitive beats with nothing innovative.

If you all ever reacted to 2NE1 or heard about them. I think babymonsters has a bit of their vibes too not just blackpink. But yes, overall they're YG coded. They have 2NE1's energy and blackpink's looks and sound. Ruka is definitely something else. If anyone is paying homage to 2NE1, it's Ruka. CL would be proud. Hopefully one day they can carry their own name instead of being compared to their predecessors.
this is why I think it's a good call from YG to choose this title track led by the OG YG producers. Kpop songs don't sound like kpop anymore. However, Sheesh's kpop flavor is very strong and i think it's bc the main producers have been in kpop for so long.

@@aespicysoneIt means that Baby Monster brought what was missing amongst the 5th gen music groups. Honestly, I love the concepts that 5th gen groups produce (Ilits, TWS, BoyNextDoor, etc) but it’s pretty consistent with the chill/pop dance music. But not much what “kpop” is known for (Examples BTS, Stray Kids, BP, etc fast and hard catchy music). That’s why a lot of people, while it’s not new, like it. The energy and the slightly new difference.

I'm soo glad YG use his og taste this is the real k-pop , I'm also tired of k-pop turning into western or y2k it's starting tobe boring and everyone like doing the same,but I'm really glad YG keeping his taste.
I hope one day people will understand that YG has his own unique signature and they strive to preserve it. They have no intention of copy his own groups they want to mantain his distinct style. YG once said: we want that when someone listen our songs they think "oh its so YG" they want to preserved their brand through generations. It just that many people discovered the YG concept through BP but they were already many years behind in the industry. Ain't no way YG would do the same cute sweet girl concept these kpop GG groups are doing a lot these days im thankful for that, we need some noise in kpop. Certain company (i know you know which one) do the same easy listening songs, are on the same trend but oh! lets hate YG while that company do the same but with another concept

First, I respect your comments. Thank you for reacting. Think about this for a moment... YGisms, as you labeled the YG formula, was one of the main reasons that BP rose to global popularity and stardom. They were talented but they used this same formula for all their MVs. "Blackpink in your area" was their call at the beginning of each MV and the words black and pink were sprinkled in throughout the song, and the song was always a banger.
For Baby Monster it is "Baby I'mma monster" and spelling out B>A>B>Y>M>O>N a few times throughout the song. But your can't deny that 1. you liked it because it's FIRE; 2. they are growing and are more confident and establishing themselves; and, 3. the YGisms (formula) have proven to be successful.
Some quick numbers...Sheesh broke the record for most views on YT in 24 hours with 24.5 million for 5th gen groups. And whose record did they break, you ask? Um, well, it was their own... Batter Up MV (22.59 million).
Now I realize these aren't Pink Venom numbers but in fairness, Pink Venom was released about 5-6 years after BP debuted.
One more thing, Sheesh is on track to break the record for the fastest MV to reach 100 Million views for 5th gen groups. And whose record would that be? Yup, Batter Up again. It did it in 18 days, 3 hours. We are about 5 and half days in and the video shows over 62 million views. And I'm seeing more and more reactions each day so that tells me the word is spreading. B>A>B>Y>M>O>N...tell a friend, tell a friend, tell a friend.
The numbers don't lie. I don't think anyone will be as big as Blackpink is (they may go down as the G.O.A.T. when all is said and done) but I believe this group has a shot at global dominance for gen 5. Thank you for your reaction respectfully, Bob from LA

Right when Babymonster dropped sheesh there’s just so many discourse, some call it “hate” but what i sense is “envy”, “jealousy “ coz whenever YG drops something everyone just anticipates, and i mean everyone even YG antis, coz their fave just can’t do what YG artist does, and even if they try they just can’t pull it off..

girl group under YG Entertainment. The group consists of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita. They released their pre-debut single 'DREAM' on May 14, 2023, and they made their long-awaited debut on November 27, 2023 as a 6-member group only with a digital single, 'BATTER UP, excluding member Ahyeon, who was temporarily on hiatus due to health reasons.
They will make their debut as a 7-member group, along with Ahyeon, on April 1, 2024, with the mini-album 'BABYMONS7ER.'

I don’t mind the song but the discourse of this is real kpop sounding is so interesting to me.
YGs whole sound was literally known as the most western influenced of the kpop sound. If we’re being honest illit sounds more og kpop then this. If you’re conflating just being loud with kpop that’s not even a great comparison. Kpop loud niche was weird that was the whole point the girls would need to sound more like mix mash SNSD / f(x) pop one sec, edm the next a random rap verse and then r&b in the bridge and then suddenly rock 😂 what it’s more like is YG has no evolution because they still sound just like their 2nd gen acts and their 3rd gen acts which were always western leaning for their gens.

Wtf is "real kpop" all kpop songs draw influence from musical genres outside korea. If this were "real" kpop it wouldnt even be "pop" it'd be trot music.
i really want to like the music that babymonster puts out, but sadly none of the tracks catched me so far. The girls the them selfes are great, but the problem for me is/was the choice of the songs. Their first release was a hot mess, and this one isn't for me either. The chorus just sounds trash (yeah its a hard word, but idk how to put it softer) and as its the main part, i just can't let it past as it would have been with like a short rap part or the intro, you know parts that don't repeat that often. Just sad, that its another release that isn't mine.
Disclaimer: this is not about the yg formular, bp or any other stuff thats been happening with yg. Its about the production of the songs.
I don't know who wrote the rap line but sheesh they need better writers 🤦🏻 "Hibiri hop hop boom boom pow" 😂😂😂 amongst others. The production is dope, but to someone who doesn't listen to KPOP or new to it, this sounds like another BP song.. Im sure I'll get bashed for saying that but it's reality. Sure it's a YG sound but BP is also a YG sound and being their previous big artist who took over KPOP for the last few years that YG sound will be a BP sound until further notice...
