Cannot tell you how excited I am to see a Stormwall painting video in 2022. So cool!

Thank you. I suppose my timing is a bit odd seeing as the model is being discontinued. I enjoyed the project regardless.

I do gotta say I like doing battle damage planned out and using tools to give it more of a realistic look to the damage that might have been done

It can be tons of fun to do more in depth weathering/ battle damage. I do it on some projects and then not on others. It really depends on the goal of the model.

On average, how long does it take to actually paint the mini?

An excellent question. I think this model took me around 20 hours, maybe less. Larger models eat up more time than smaller ones. The smaller one I am painting right now will be done in less than half that time with roughly the same scheme.

Your basecoats look so smooth. How much do you thin them and how many layers does it take for that opacity?

So there isn't an exact ratio I always use. What I usually do is get a scoop of paint using my brush and then I put it on the pallet. From there I dip the brush in my water cup and soak up a bit of water then mix that in with the paint. It is usually about 1 brush worth of water per 1 scoop of paint. The size of the brush does make a difference. I usually use a size 2 or 3 brush for mixing my paint. I can usually get the base coat on in 2 coats unless of course I have over thinned the paint.

@@TheMiniatureManager Ah very good. I have a similar technique except I use ProAcryl paints, not citadel. So there is no scooping and the paint is already thinner. My results are not quite as good as yours but I assume that is down to skill. Thanks!

@@victormai5182 I have found that even pre thinned paints can benefit from additional thinning. Obviously you have to play around with each color and figure out what the right consistency is. I used P3 cygnar blue in my other cygnar tutorial and got a pretty similar outcome.
