Although it was a rainy day, that house was light & bright inside! The guesthouse would be a fun project to complete 🏡 cherry, almond, plum and apple trees ❤ just lovely!

My last name originated in France. The first emigre in my family came from Lille to Quebec in 1634. Eventually by the mid-nineteenth century my ancestors were in the Mississippi River Valley in the U.S. So I am a long way from the old country.
The history, language, war history, culture and ancestral connections intrigue me. For instance my father ate frogs legs. He didn't even speak French. He had an accordion and played it smartly. He could cook. He could fix anything and all he did was with style. 300 years later i can see the French in my Papa. He died when i was 15. Our family was and is close. My son travels more than i do and he is learning French. I'm so happy to see him desire to know his old country heritage.

No shower, no wardrobe space and no downstairs loo makes it a no for me, but lovely house and garden for someone.
Loving the new roofs - if a roof is in good condition, all else can be handled. Great property and trees too!
The ground floor of the main house is very spacious, and one might partition one end of the kitchen for an entry hall and toilet. BTW, it looks like there are two large fridge-freezers! Upstairs the slope of the ceiling limits the usable space, but there are still two decent double bedrooms. I'd try to figure out a way to install a shower stall in the bathroom despite the limited headroom. The renovation house is very similar, only slightly smaller, though I might want to add a window or two. There's a nice bit of land with this property to give you some privacy and space for the kids to play. It's a good setup for an extended family or for a rental to pay the mortgage.

Wow! Two beautiful looking exterior built stone Houses, I simply love the stone work on these, also the fabulous interior in the main house which is very neat, and tidy looking, there is so much potential in the second house. The outside area looks very neat and manageable. Overall outstanding asking price for the two of them.

A question Id like to ask , hope it is not a daft one....Is it essential to have your own transport to live, and get around in France. For those who don't drive, are there good regular bus routes, or taxi services, that you can use to take a (person/s) into a town or village, so as to get weekly shopping done etc?

No question is daft 😀 public transport is not great in some of the areas of Brittany, when you are outside the main towns, do example the train station is about 30 minutes away. If you don’t drive central Brittany may not be suitable for you. However it is possible to buy certain cars here that have a top speed of about 35km an hr that can be driven without a license….😂😂🇫🇷❤️🏴

Interesting read regarding the 35km an hrs car, never heard of that one😂 I do drive a car, but in 4 years time when I reach retirement age I don't like the idea of having to drive In France. Hope this will not go against me in wanting to buy a house and retire in a peaceful, and happy lifetime in what looks like a very beautiful country. @@propertyforsaleinfrance

@@propertyforsaleinfrance Hardly answers my question. I'm 6 foot 7. Anyway too many squeaks in the floor upstairs. The homes in Abruzzo have higher ceilings with better views. We've been looking there also.

@@propertyforsaleinfrance The mountain views are just majestic and some of the home's are so solid. Hardly any old timbers with wood rot and what have you. Quite green especially in the higher peaks and cheaper. Still I quite like some of the old French countryside.
