I just hope that Redemption doesn't have to happen again and they keep up the quality of these. Can't wait for them to give us a TW3K final DLC or something.
To counter javelins and lethality, probably best to do it the ancient world way - which babylon is fortunately very kitted out for! That being: send in chaff to eat their arrows
I was hoping my favorite historical tw channel will soon try pharaoh dynasties! PS: maxing out terrain and weather effects in campaign settings amplifies the tactical gameplay and every battle feels unique:)
this is the first total war that i have stunk on for awhile.. alot of new mechanics and quite refreshing. having to learn the game on normal and not just being able to jump into and dominate legendary, also nice to see you playing it!
I think the problem in that first battle is a combination of the lethality, and the fact that javelins are designed to shred chariots in general. Their spear in the spokes ability is pretty strong
Lethality makes this a number game. What the point of small unit with high lethality now when you can throw a hundred archer shooting a hundred 10% lethality arrows at your enemy
Great commentary and video! I'm in the middle of my campaigns as Assyria and Mycenae in TW: Pharaoh dynasties and I was kinda disappointed but overall I ike what we got in this free update. You highlighted all the points I wanted to mention so well. However some things need to get fixed asap, especially the lethality mechanic...
Hope you keep goin with this let's play. I've been playing Adad as well but I just can't figure him out. I dunno how to build his provinces or army. Will you consider doing a guide series for Pharaoh: Dynasty as well? Your guide series for 3K really helped me out and got me into the game.
I will wait until a few patches before doing Pharaoh guides since I am fairly sure there will a lot of minor changes to balance the game. Hopefully following along with this campaign will help you with playing Babylon!
Amenmesse is ridiculously overpowered in Dynasties. They changed it so his Nubian archers only require a small amount of gold for upkeep, so he can get two doomstacks from the very start of the game.
This serves as a promotional video :Þ Darn, I have played Pharao only for a bit....but they got all the cool shenanigans from Troy in as well and the map and family-tree. And I could - in theory - play as Lycia or Odysseus - f*ck me! I've actually learned a few thingies from your lets play. Quite informative. Will still redo my Tausret campaign first; even if am getting sick of the desert people, probably again. rats with guns
It feels like they've taken the game as far as it can go. All of the changes and upgrades to Pharaoh and now the Dynasties update are fantastic. But they're layered on top of a core gameplay loop that's getting stale. Time to rethink the formula.
I don't know why but if serious trivia is not playing the total war 3 kingdom it doesn't feel right in my stomach. But just to show support I'm gonna watch this and do this comment.
Ugh man I really want to like this game. I don't know much about the Bronze Age, but the idea of a Total War game set in it and including Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Hittites, AND Greece sounds amazing. Sadly I'm starting to think Total War just isn't for me anymore lol 😢 Oh well, at least I still like videos about it haha.
I feel exactly the same, been playing since the original Shogun. Still have fond memories of playing the demo before it released haha. But since Warhammer onwards I just haven't been enjoying them any more, I feel they just aren't for me any more which is fine. I do wish I could still enjoy them but every time I launch a Total War game now I play 5-10 turns, and find myself just quitting out and playing something else instead. Part of getting older I guess
Hello ST, I need your help. This might be not relate with TW Pharaoh. Do you have any tip how to counter Lu Bu in TW3K on Legendary? Love all your videos especially your narrating voice. 💥💥💥
Charge him with cavalry units. But first send only one because he has that smash ability. Once he uses it, send the rest. Strategist with wisdom of the river and/or stifling deluge will also help.
you can customize this game quite a bit. things like randomized location start for all faction, resource levels, sea people invasion on or off etc. Basically they incorporated a lot of popular mod choices into the game options (also with the minor factions being playable)
@@SeriousTrivia Man probably wants a horde faction that starts away from the Sinai and conquer the Canaanites (possibly a part of the newly formed Hebrew Confederacy in Canaan that shaped Axial Age Israelite folklore about the Judges before their urbanite Kingdoms came to be)
I will watch to support you but this game just doesn't improve the core franchise at all it is riddled with all the same game breaking issues of previous titles and it simply feels stale
Any examples? I'm not a fan either just because I find the resource system and actual UI interaction of the campaign map very clunky and intuitive (if this was similar to Rome 2 or empire, I'd be hooked)
@@Tejmaster1 for me the most important thing is the weak ai which means after the first 30 rounds which the game is difficult the mid to late game is simply my armies conquering cities with nothing stopping me . This has been an issue for most total wars of course however at this point when the game is basically the same formula since rome 2 it is simply boring. Another example is the health system and the billions of stats for units which makes me not even look at them and just reqruit the highest tier at which point i end up auto resolving everything because the ai can't cope simply put i no longer enjoy the battles which is the most important feature of total war
dynasties update with a steam sale is the golden redemption ration man
The Narrator is the same voice actor as He Yi! I keep thinking he's going to say something about the corrupt Han officials..
I swear there's like 2 VAs for historical total war.
wow I would have never picked up on that, guy has some range
From Downgrade to Upgrade.
Love a Redemption arc

Or use big shields and fast units to catch them :3
I kinda want to say that aside from Shogun 2 with the 1 HP system. Older games such as Med2 had 2 HP on generals.
I was hoping my favorite historical tw channel will soon try pharaoh dynasties!
PS: maxing out terrain and weather effects in campaign settings amplifies the tactical gameplay and every battle feels unique:)
Honestly I expected it to end up like Britannia, but it's now something that looks good with the map size and factions available
Don't forget to dealt with Ea Nasir at Ur. Or you will be scammed with low quality copper.

might be my top 3 total war, definitely better than Rome 2
@@khal7702 good point. but if you played rome 2 when it was "fresh" and brand new back in the day it will always hold a sweet spot in your heart lol

Trivia on Dynasties ! Yes !
Double “yes”!
The GOAT returns for us to learn how to dominate ancient bronze age like we did three kingdoms period!!!!

Love this game aka dynasties just picked it up on sale & by far my fav historical one yet. I'm soaking a lot of info, learning the new mechanics.
Just bought the game and started my 1st campaign as Babylon as well

This'll be fascinating to watch! I followed your original Pharaoh let's plays, so let's see what changed.
I've 5 days for this video to come.. finally here~ I'm getting popcorn

Do a please a full campaign of Agamannon legendary!!
They should make archers more costly to recruit. That would offset the lethality. It would even be historically accurate.
Well they patched the lethality to be lower
basically a drive by lol
