Agreed. Genuine weapons are stronger and much heavier. I also wish that more teachers would practice with a two or three kilogram weapon. Doing so with skill would demonstrate good kung fu. Like our predecessors did.
A half way decent sword is at least $250. A large weapon like this would cost even more. First you need a broadsword, then you have to buy a straight sword. The style is Bagua, so probably Deer Horn knives come next. Have you seen the price of Deer Horn Knives? Then the spear is next on the list. The Guan Dao is down the list from all those. Maybe not everyone wants to spend that much money on a weapon that they only use once in a while.
@@stefanschleps8758 I am poor and all of my weapons are wooden practice weapons. Wood is good for sparring. I don't need live blade. Perhaps a boat oar would make a good substitute for a Guan Dao?
