We are a working couple in our early fifties with a teenager and a dog.
Our channel is about budgeting,cash stuffing, saving and learning to live a life without relying on credit.
In 2024 we are focussing on funding travel and paying down debt.
I share our real numbers as well as the ups and downs of our budget as I find this has helped me learn from others in the budgeting community.

Just a tip that may help you is to weigh everyday & divide it by 7 which gives you a bit lite accurate reading xx

Our food bill is about the same with healthy eating. Can't seem to get it below and that's including using up stuff in the freezer.
Glad you got sorted clothes shopping with your son. I'm dreading the teen years with my son as the girls are both tiny and stopped growing at around 13 lol xx
Son is a large top and medium bottoms and a size 10 shoe, it’s a nightmare! I do feel I should stop beating myself up about the food budget and just decide if I want to eat healthy that I need to have a more realistic budget x.
Oh the food! It’s a nightmare. I have given up for July. Am just stuffing what’s left this month after spending on essentials/variables each week. I know that’s not really budgeting but I don’t seem to be able to get anywhere with anything otherwise. Unless you eat oats, lentils and basic veg and bread lol ,eating healthily is expensive as protein is so dear. Keep going ❤
Him indoors has suggested a freezer week which should help this week as we didn’t do a food shop at the weekend as we were out and I have been away with work which should help with this weeks budget but we will be well over for the month. Having to eat GF means oats and bread are not cheap for me, best part of £4 for 4 wraps ☹️
@@50somethingbudgets it’s so hard isn’t it. I’m rubbish at the food. I sometimes wish I didn’t have a freezer. I fill it up then don’t want to eat any of it. Good luck x

Groceries are so insane. I eat a vegan diet (predominantly whole foods) and my biggest indulgence is flavoured sparkling water and I feel each week I'm spending more and more 😭
I don’t think we eat an extravagant diet but it just costs so much to eat healthy food ☹️
Oh gosh groceries 😅 can’t seem to stay on our budget 😊
