I love the part where she is looking at her past self playing the piano, blackpink rosé(who is wearing a black scarf with a pink dress, hence, blackpink) is looking at Roseanne(her real name) play the piano. Also the part where she write “Rosé” on the mirror but when Roseanne is written in the mirrors she’s no nowhere to be found(cuz she lost her old self, who is Roseanne, while she’s trying to be rosé). But once she reached the peak of her success and reached the clouds, she realized that everything she needed she already had all along(on the ground). When she’s saying “you and I” she’s talking about her present self and her old self, when she’s saying “I drived by ur house” she’s talking about her childhood home back in austrailia. Lots of hidden meanings.

you’re literally the only other person I’ve seen talk about that scene, it’s like we know her as Rosè but everyone before her fame knew her as Roseanne
this scene has very deep meaning. the one who was playing a piano was ROSEANNE, a trainee who is really working hard on reaching her dreams to get high, and the one who is watching her is ROSÉ, the one who worked all her life just to get high on where is right now but she realized that in reality, everything she need was on the ground.

However, this song isn’t about love, rose herself said that it’s about her achieving her dreams and looking at her past self and where she is now. When she keeps saying everything I need is on the ground she means that basically everything you need to achieve your hopes and dreams is within you and the people around u. Like it comes from that, which is why its named like this.

I really love how emotional the song is and the theme Rose is portraying. It sounds like she's singing about an old love or past love when in reality she's really singing to her younger self. She mentioned how the song symbolizes her looking back at her old self and comparing it to who she is and where she is now. The "On the Ground" part is kind of an implication as to her humbleness and her settlement of realizing where she came from and remembering what made her ROSE. The Piano "for example" is her now self looking back at her old self (just the same old ROSE who loves playing the piano happily where life was also simple). The song is fantastically written. So proud of ROSE. Thank you for supporting her! 💖
