This is in the later part of his life when he was more spiritual He then knew that the African spirits lived among him and his surrounding I used his music to serve my country and educate fellow black children He is my hero
This is true. It is a crime and a sin that so many people (at least in the States) have no idea who he even is. People that listen to this new shit garbage out there think that pop music they listen to is great and that these so called musicians are artists. What a croc of shit. All new music in the states is pop music. No matter what genre it is, it's all pop music. Fela is truly art. This is talent, art, skill and just amazing masterpieces. I'd put this up against any musician ever, Mozart, Beethoven and anyone else. I used to debate music with people who listen to new stuff. My top 5 favorite musicians ever include (in no particular order) Fela, Curtis Mayfield, Jimmy McGriff, James Brown and BB King. The people I would debate music with have no idea who most of them are. I know a lot. About new music even without listening to it ever, but when no one knows even the 5 people I named, how can they honestly have a debate about music when they don't even know what music is? I gave up debating it. If people want to be lost in a world of garbage pop music and they don't even want to know all these amazing old school artists then they deserve to spend their life listening to anything pop culture tells them too. Long live Fela!
Did Fela ever do a Live version of this song? I heard an interview with Fela when he played a Festival here in America....Does anyone know if a recording exists?

The big baba, nobody will tell us the truth, we must know it...this is the best musician of all times, no doubt!
I'm Cuban and love this afrobeat. It reminds me of my young days listening to afrocuban music in my village.
And by village I mean Miami, lmao.
Glad you enjoy Fela music too.
Understanding of Fela music (Africa Music) helps for a good living life.
This is in the later part of his life when he was more spiritual
He then knew that the African spirits lived among him and his surrounding
I used his music to serve my country and educate fellow black children
He is my hero
I'm very glad to hear that. At least someone in this world has a worthwhile hero.
Lol nah this was recorded in 1976. Those were some of his prime years
@@tadialbert1036 i like egypt 80 more though 🤣
His prime was 70s
But the profound and deep fela was in the 80s
His sounds were more of voodoo
Even in the death,Fela remains the greatest
🐐

Fela makes Bob Marley look like Sesame Street..
They don't need to be compared.
@@1972vulture A Marley fan, eh?
@@ej2333 nah, just two different artists that led their own lives
You cant hear the drummer which is a tragic mastake of production, because Tony Allen is soooo monstrous. Good track though.
