Not pushing it is the best advice! Drive it at 100 you will have problems, drive 80-90 and you will be fine. In Canada where I am most highways are 90 to 100. I can cruise in the slow lane at 80 and have never had issues with traffic or mechanical failure. My Ural just died at 230000km (2008) looking forward to getting another. The new 2023 is an actual modern machine (and the oil leak issues have been fixed this year) This one will be my main vehicle as I am now in Southern Ontario and winder riding is fun.

Ain't nothing cheap from Harley 😂

A great review! We're at approximately 20,000M, 32,000K's on ours. We've had some issues with leaking rear engine seals and EFI sensors during the 5 years we've owned. I did recently put on the 2-1 exhaust, but it leaks that same black stuff that yours does. They just don't seal that well. We don't go fast either. Sticking to the back roads and forest trails is the only way to travel anyway. Thanks for sharing.

6900km on our 2021 Gear Up 2wd. As I write this it is in for warranty repair on the rear main seal. Our weather here in North Central Washington St is about to turn the ground white with snow and the critters are fattening up and burrowing for Winter. I am extremely pleased with Ural Company as I think they must be the Gold Standard for honoring warranty work! As your video pans up from the sidecar shock I noticed that the fender bolt looked backed off a bit. LOL, maybe just my old eyes. We have been on a lot of washboarded roads this year and have found that Loctite is my friend. Just a note to say I am grateful to you and a few other Ural Owners on YT for the info you have provided. It has helped me here an there. Not to mention seeing your lovely country from the saddle point of view. Keep up the great work.

Shame that they don’t exist as solo bike.

yer my ranger is happiest at 80kph I've had it a little faster but it becomes more work to keep it in control i rekin 14/16 s of my riding be on dirt roads at 60-70 kph the odd 3 wheel slide into corners is fun sometimes I'm 64 years young but love playing around some still and as i tell the farmers ural faster than most tractors lols

Although the manual states it has a 1300 payload, my son is 440, 6ft 8. Would it be too hard to balance with that much weight in the sidecar?

  • @TwoMotoKiwis

Well cool mate, very interesting seeing other Ural setups 👍

I’ve got a 2021 Gear Up. I’ve done nearly 9000kms on it. I love it. I ride it at 100km/hr on the open road and it seems perfectly happy at that speed. Head winds do slow it up significantly though. I replaced the rear tyre with the spare at about 6000 kms. I’ve had no trouble at all with the outfit except the bloody EMS light stays on unless I do the three flicks of the ignition key when I turn the bike on. I don’t have an OBD unit so can’t figure out what the problem is. Do you know of an OBD unit that will plug into the bike? The Ural OEM one costs about $500 so I’d be interested if there’s a cheaper non OEM one on the market. Failing that I’ll get the dealer to fix it when I take it in for its 10,000km service. I’ve found too that the hand break is in need of virtually constant adjustment. Other than those minor gripes it’s a ton of fun on and off road. Thanks for sharing and feedback from you and/or your followers will be appreciated 👍😎

    Great stuff mate

I have 50,000 miles on my 1999 URAL side car outfit.l replaced the 2 piece drive shaft, the helical gears, and 2 broken cylinders 3 years apart. The 2 nd time she bent a rod. All fixed now. Been a very fun bike. Towed home a free boat . All Soviet made parts still working.Expensive German shocks, Italian wheels, Ducati ignition,EFI, and stainless steel exhaust add $10,000 to the price of the new ones.Nice to have but not

Cool to hear your thoughts. I've had a road sidecar for 34 years, an old Ron Hurdis HRD sidecar in my 1988 Lowrider, still ride it every week. I've always wondered about the Ural sidecars and what they are like.

  • @gullyfoyle-uf6fr

Wife and I have enjoyed many of your vids. I've picked up many insights watching and learning.

  • @sm-ez6sf

Hello. Which manufacturer's product is the waterproof bag on the rack of the side car? It looks like a good size that just fits on the rack.

  • @haitch1980

Thanks Keith. How about the cross brace on the handlebars. Been looking but can't find one. Do you have a source for your riser etc. TIA.

  • @epicridesandtours

The advice to read the manual's good. My 2011 takes 105 mL of oil in the final drive.

  • @johnswallow3710

I'm thinking of buying one to take my dog around Australia

  • @chrishally7500

Are you still on your original back tyre?

  • @user-uk7ir2uc4s

بسیار عالی ولی متاسفانه درایران موتوراورال نیست هرچند خودم عاشق موتور اورال هستم‌
