@@iowabassman4701 You're right about a lot of things here, but your prediction is just stupid. You fail to realize that the coaches will respond. Michigan lost a game, USC lost a game. I don't hear their fans all whiny and gloomy. We dropped a game. Get over it. Be a real fan, not some pouty b*tch.
Belima runs virtually all 46 bear. It was unheard of when he started it 3 years ago and is still extremely rare. What makes it work is Belima knows how to recruit physical, fast playing football players regardless of their recruiting service ranking and has been able to pick up decent QBs who don't mess up like Devito and Altmeyer in portal.
@kimclark3297 bush wanted to stay on staff. Rhule had other coaches and he said its hard to keep the old staff. Still unlikely But a couple years of poor special teams play might change his mind and the rules changed for coaches. Now you can basically have as many coaches as you want and they can be on the field.
Husker program has been in the depths of hell for years now. This is a legitimate rebuilding process. Now, it will take time to build up a program. This is year 2, and to be 3-1 after week 4, I think that's respectable it's not perfect, but it will take shape trust the process GBR!
@10xshooters I agree with u. But there are things that we can control like leaving the field wide open all game.. no in game adjustments were made and we got pushed around.. why didn't we bring more pressure? Those are all things we can control and didn't. Was just a good learning lesson imo
While I haven't seen Ohio State this year, Dylan Raiola appears to be the best QB in conference based on talent and ability already, not saying he's the best QB but he will get there and soon, what Nebraska needs to do is get him some receiving talent, right now, line upgrade too, Nebraska has some solid guys, maybe they will make a practice squad in the NFL, what Raiola needs is first or second round receiving NFL draft type talent to really spread his wings and success to follow with Nebraska in the playoffs next year or I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves for another blue chip program at the end of next year.
Really, might be the best thing to happen to us. They came out flat and I had a feeling our players were a little full of themselves after the colorado game. Now they know anyone can beat them and they need to be discipline. Bc until we win a 1 score game we are not "back" yet. I disagree saying we were out coached. I think our players didnt come mentally prepared, the penalties tell me that.
T.White didn’t make the necessary adjustments, fast enough. Can’t exhaust your front 3-4 because you don’t want to blitz, and then show that the blitz works with under 5 minutes to go. Need to ramp up the aggressiveness rest of the way.
@BigRedJunkies I thought adjustments were fine. Perfect, no, but Illinois had a great plan. I do not think you give Tony White enough credit here. Its not like Illinois scored on every drive. More times than not, when we brought pressure, the ball was out quick before the rush could get there. We got "lucky" their QB didn't see the CB blitz coming when he fumbled. I saw issues tackling. To me, that was a big difference maker. When I step back and look at the game, this is my thoughts. Do I wish the defense could have stopped them more OF COURSE. But at the same time, did the defense play well enough for us to win....YES. It all comes down to execution and being mentally ready to make the play. Id say about 75% of the team is mentally their. But 25% is lagging behind in the "big moments." And that's all it takes for a team "still learning to win." GBR. Going into the season, I didn't predict wins and losses, but my floor for the team is 8 wins. My ceiling is 11. We are still in the window. I think the team will be just fine going forward. Keep up the great content!
I waited but almost commented on your preview about you thinking nebraska would win this easily? never was that going to happen. Illinois was beyond competent
I honestly think in my heart that Nebraska is cursed. We lose games in the STRANGEST ways. The middle of the field was wide open all game for Illinois. And I cant explain why or DBs gave them 10 to 15 yard cushions and gave up the middle all game.. Tony White didn't adjust to the game or he just didn't see what Illinois was doing to us and it completely costs us the game. They used our over pursuit against us and WE DIDINT adjust at all.. WR and QB were the stars of this game.
No, I mean we got beat. This wasn't like the games of the past where we shoot ourselves in the foot with multiple turnovers or craziness like that. This was two good teams banging heads, and we ran out of gas first.
@BigRedJunkies Matt Rhule and staff will aggressively fix what went wrong across-the-board and will learn from it and use it as a blueprint going forward, Coach Rhule mentioned at a previous press briefing rather loss a game early in the season than mid to late, be prepared for the phony ass bandwagon husker zealots with their walnut brain airheaded dumb ass comments🙄Nebraska will make a very aggressive accelerated fast track triumphant return.
