I'll probably end up buying one but my problem is I already have so many straight flying mids. I have 3 different buzzes, I have a mako3 which this disc kind of reminds me of just by looking at it. My favorite is probably the latitude 64 compass because that disc flies dead straight but seems to fly further than my other midranges.
I actually relaced the mako3 in my bag with this disc today. I managed to get the exact color, stamp, and weight i wanted from my local store! the one thing that turned me onto this over the mako 3, is that it has a much flatter feel and a shallower cup. so it feels much nicer in my hand imo

I just meant it won’t outsell the CloudBreaker for them because a ton of players just want the fast stuff the pros are crushing when something like this would be better for most people and should sell more than something like a CloudBreaker or Destroyer
I don't think of a mid range when someone is shredding a course. If I'm doing really well I'm rarely throwing a mind. I throw a driver park the drive then have an easy putt. Maybe my drive isn't perfect and I'm left with a very short approach. Not using a midrange for an approach. There might be one hole on the corse that is short enough I'm driving with a mid. Many of the in the bags I've seen from the pros. Have minimal midranges compared to the other classes of discs. I think you are over hyping this disc.
most people aren't pros. where a pro throws a 2 or 3 speed, the average player is reaching for a 4 or 5 speed. mids are a valuable slot. and, not sure if you noticed, a lot of discs get lost during a pro tourney and practice, they need backups
@@mfuzzy7422When's the last time you've compared the distance of your throwing putters to your minds? I bet there's less than a twenty foot difference between throwing putters and mids for the average player. If you can't get close 300 feet with your throwing putter. As you won't be able to get faster discs up to the speed required to get the intended flight characteristics.
@@ericdunthorne1981 sorry man, 50+ foot difference here and mids are only 40-50 short of drives. 7 speeds are my go to drivers. only a couple 9's and an 11 i use for forehands. drives are 300ish with the forehand getting maybe 20/30 more. i'm fine with that. i'm a casual intermediate level player, like most, and the controlled, shapeable middy is way more important on the wooded courses in my area. oh, you'll love this, i dropped putters because my atlas middy does the job. very solid as a putter and approach. you can throw a 5 speed with less power and still work the disc. sure, this isn't a pro's view, but myself and most aren't ever getting there, just enjoying the game and loving cool shaped shots in the woods. i can't wait to try this disc as it will fit my and most other's game. thanks for the advice, i look forward to your instructional videos.......

I am getting the Origin in to try out and see what the hype it about! I am pretty pumped for it!
How would you compare this to a Clash Discs Berry?
I haven't thrown any Clash Discs, so I don't know! how does the Berry fly? what is it similar to?
Yeah. This definitely makes me think of a mako3. Already having a perfectly good mako3, I probably won't buy this disc.
Yeah this will probably be very similar to the Mako3! I will probably be making a video comparing the two! I don't know how I didn't think of doing that for this video!
So a glidy buzzz, Love it. Ordered 2 lol
Might I ask what weight is that orange one you are throwing?
Yeah, it is 177g!
Gotcha. Thanks, weight changes everything.
Nice disc but cant see it kicking out my Fission Hex. My Buzzz is now in the extra disc pile as well.
It's probably a touch less overstable than the Hex! But there would definitely be a good amount of overlap there though!
@@ApolloDiscGolf so many good mids right now. I agree with you. I like throwing mids. I have a slightly understable, stable, and overstable mid in my bag that are always my go to discs.
Don’t ever lose your sparkle bud. Oh, this disc sold out faster than the tilt, they better make more.
This was really good and correct.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Can’t wait to pick mine up!
It’s solid!
I am really looking forward to the Finish Line Supra.
Dude, Same! That will be really fun to test out! Is there a release date or anything yet?
@@ApolloDiscGolf I haven’t heard anything since Drew’s post about it on IG.
It's a metal flake Mako3 in very nice plastic. Nice disc for sure.
Yeah, I am comparing those next! I can’t believe I didn’t think of comparing them in this video tbh…
But I do think the Mako3 is deeper!
@@ApolloDiscGolf Not according to my measurements. They're as close to identical as two molds from two manufacturers as I've seen.
@@neilrankin4133 it has been a while since I’ve held the a Mako3!
Great content man!! ^_^ awesome disc recommendation.
Thank you! And thanks for watching and commenting! It means a lot!
They went quick for sure! Even with the hiccups on the drop
I've got some more coming in! They have a good amount left for the dealers so I bet some people will be getting restocks soon!
I’ve loved my mystery box MD1. It’s taking all of my restraint not to buy one of these since I’m not bagging it at the moment. It’s giving me a headache.
😂
Been waiting on the md1 since the first drop in the mystery box
They are so good!
So kinda like a buzzz ss? But maybe you can compare it with the new brodie meteor
Yeah! I haven't thrown a Buzzz SS in a LONG time! I might have to try it again... and I might need pick up a Cryztal Meteor to see what that's all about too!
@@ApolloDiscGolf remember when people were talking about “mid ranges” going extinct a couple years ago? 😂😂😂 because of all the hybrid drivers that came out.
Mid range discs have become my favorite type to throw & bag
@@BryceRogers_ yeah… mid ranges might not be used a ton by the pros, but that has more to do with the courses they are playing! Not necessarily the discs… Mid ranges are SO GOOD!!!
How does this compare to mako3?
I need to grab a mako3 to test it, but I would say the flight is pretty comparable, and the rim is shaped practically the same but I would say the Mind Bender is shallower than the Mako3!
Less flippy in my experience
just ordered a metal flake one!
They are solid discs!
I just threw a latitude 64 fuse for the first time last weekend. Sounds like mind bender is comparable.
I need to pick up a fuse! I haven’t thrown one in ages! My guess is the fuse is a touch more understable. More like an Origin! But I honestly haven’t thrown either to compare for sure 😂
Love the sparkles comment. No shame in throwing shiny stuff.
💪💪
This disc seems pretty similar to the Westside warship. (Which is great btw)
Yeah the Warship is solid!
Really like your reviews the content and presentation are excellent but that music is so annoying,I don't think it's even necessary but even lower volume would help. thanks for the review
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, finding the right music and knowing when to use it is definitely something I need to work on! Hopefully I can keep making it a little better each time!
@@ApolloDiscGolf For me the best is no music when you are speaking(even music I like), you can never find music that everyone likes I just think it has become so common that people think they have to put music in or the videoor it will be to dry. Maybe try some reviews with no music and ask what people think.
I found you on your Athena review and got my two proto Athenas on Monday went out yesterday and played a couple courses with them and instantly loved them.I have three the test flight PM signed and the two proto, not throwing the test flight because it looks the same as the prototypes
I'd guess they probably sell more P2's than anything but that's just a guess. Have a Mind Bender on the way. I'd almost rather fist my butthole than throw mids and putters (Zone being the exception), but I'm forcing myself to do it because I know it'll make me a better player.
😂
The diamond is a great turnover disc if you haven't developed a forehand or need the extra distance. -me at 5500 elevation throwing 400+
Oh at elevation everything changes! 😂
And yeah, I bet there are a good amount of people that use it for rollers or turnovers… it’s much too light and tiny in the hands for my liking! But again, great beginner driver!
Nice 2 videos in a week!
Yep! Had to catch up from not posting last week! 😂
@@ApolloDiscGolf nice man out of curiosity after testing the discs how many stay in your bag?
@@ForehandDiscReviews I am very stubborn when it comes to my bag… I get the hype like a lot of people, but when it comes to tournament time, I usually revert back to leaning on my bag I have had for the last 6-7 years now 😂
But that’s also because now because of testing and reviewing so much… I actually don’t get to play with my bag all that much anymore… maybe once every other month I might be able to go out and play a normal round with just my bag… so I don’t have much time to get to know and get too comfortable with new discs to fit into my game! I’m always swapping out now for reviews…
The only new thing I have put in my bag and stayed in the bag after reviewing it was the Jokeri! Because that kind of filled a hole I had previously!
@@ApolloDiscGolf nice man do an in the bag video! That would be cool
@@ForehandDiscReviews I will have to do that for a milestone video! Like at 10k subs or something!
Haha, i wish i could throw anything over 400 feet. I max out at like 250 because well, i don't know what i'm doing.
😂
already have the lootbox C-line MD1 and throw that. so I will actually skip this special. my C-line still has quite a bit of stability, but it'll beat in eventually.
I mean who doesn’t have a sparkle disc they love. 😂
Made sure to pick up 10 Cloudbreakers when it first came out with all the scalping going on with that disc. And sure enough, the next weekend... POOF.
Hoping my local shop has this. My younger bro wants this disc so bad after seeing Simon's video on it. Personally I love my Iron Samurai MD3. It's beaten in to where it holds the straight line like an MD1. But definitely going to pick this up. It's going to be my 250-300 ft gap hitter for next season.
Yeah it is a great compliment to the MD3!
Ugg I was gonna pass on this disc but you got me tempted now.
Lol, it is really good! 😂
What mids do you throw currently?
@@ApolloDiscGolf currently bag a paradox, md3(on its way out I think), emac truth, and an eclipse reactor (forehand disc)
@@chrispinnick3816 I haven’t thrown a Paradox before! Is that on the straighter/understable side? Because the Reactor and Emac truth are both on the stable side!
@@ApolloDiscGolf paradox is super understable. It’s fun to throw on certain holes but my main use for it now is patent pending. My emac is worn in a little so it’s not as stable as the reactor, it’ll still fade out of an anhyzer though which is the only reason I still have the md3 in the bag
@@chrispinnick3816 Then the Mind Bender is probably really close to that Emac if its beat up a bit!
Welp u just made me buy one
This disc has been out for some time now. It's called the Mako3.
I don't know how I didn't think of comparing this disc to that... But I definitely need to do that! I always thought the Mako3 was a little deep though... probably deeper than this!
Has anybody compared this to the Origin?
That would be a good comparison! I might have to do that! I haven't yet thrown an Origin!
Origin is way more flippy. My MD1 just goes straight. I’ve never accidentally turned it unless I put anhyzer on it by accident.
At the moment it is Discmanias best selling disc :D
True! But I just don't see it selling as crazy as the Cloudbreaker! That thing sold crazy! Just because that's the "sexy" disc because its fast and overstable! That's all some people want 😂
Have you ever thrown an Essence? I'm a big midrange fan but the Essence is hands down the easiest disc I've ever thrown...
I have not! Just picked some up for a video! I'm pretty pumped for them!
@@ApolloDiscGolf I've been playing for 15 months and just threw the Essence 350ft dead center of the fairway on hole 18 at Idlewild! 350 is my max distance (typically) ended up with par ! ..... why I love to throw the Essence
@@macthemurse Dang! That's solid!
@@ApolloDiscGolf hopefully I'll be good enough some day to make that repeatable
I meant to say earlier love your channel keep rocking it!!!
from my understanding this disc is getting a single release and then discontinued so scoop them up quick!
Where did you hear that? I thought that was just the tilt they are discontinuing!
I can't see them discontinuing a disc they just made the mold for. From a financial perspective that just isn't sound.
It’s because it’s all trilogy plastic and manufacturing processes
it is diffent plastic is has a different compostion
Yeah, it might be a different composition! But like I said, compared to the Felon they feel VERY similar! But like I said, I really like it!
Looks exactly like a innova mako3 to me.
Yeah, I need to compare it to a Mako3! Not sure how I didn't think of that for this video!
4x Champ but all good
Yeah, I filmed this last week! Couldn’t see into the future 😂
md1 rim looks like a mako 3
Yeah I definitely need to compare it to a Mako3! No idea how I didn't think of that before!
i think its the p2 butttt you right
You might be right about the P2! I wouldn’t be surprised if that outsells the Cloudbreaker
Mako3 . Please compare man
Will do! Not sure how I missed that for this video! Seems like the go-to comparison!
I feel like maybe it's not the best selling disc because it's not for sale yet...
Am I missing something? They did a limited run of them back in 2021 in that mystery box, and now they are releasing it for sale. So obviously it's not going to be their best selling disc because you just can't get it. Solid review, I guess the title and that whole theme just felt clickbait-y.
I was more talking about in the future, I don’t think this will sell as much as the CloudBreaker because people want fast overstable discs… even though this disc is better than the CloudBreaker for the majority of people!
I need to find someone to trade me a mind bender.
in 2 hours you can get your own!
Looks more like a Buzzz SS
It’s been a while since I have thrown one of those, but I bet they are VERY similar!
BBC baby
Looks like Mako3
That is a very good comparison I didn't think about! I think it's shallower than the Mako3, but very similar in shape and flight!
Sounds like a meteor
I would say the Meteor is a little more understable! But I also haven’t tried a Cryztal Meteor yet!
@@ApolloDiscGolf I meant it as a compliment. The meteor is a disc I suggest to any beginner to build confidence. Nice video brother
So discmania is lying about the italian blend C-Line? Or what are we saying here?
Oh I think the Italian blend is totally a new Blend that Discmania worked on! They are just using the same processes as Trilogy and the same kind of machines. And this plastic is practically identical to Trilogy's metal flake lucid plastic!
Looks like a meteor
It’s not as understable as the Meteor. But then again, I haven’t tried the Cryztal ones!
@@ApolloDiscGolf I used an older Big Z and now a Dark Horse Cryztal Meteor, they have flatter tops and are stable at slower speeds, this disc seems identical, which I'm on board for because I'm a discmania fan and was a little sad about the MD1 in the mystery box, it didn't fly straight as I wanted
@@Modock7 yeah I really need to try the Cryztal Meteors! They sound nice!
@@ApolloDiscGolf please do and do a comparison video of the mind bender with it!!!
Great review but don’t like the stamp it looks like a 4 year old designed it lol
I personally like the goofiness of the stamp!
Won’t be a best seller? It’s already sold out after 3 days. Thanks Nostradamus.
You probably need to focus on field work and technique. You probably shouldn't have anything over a nine speed either.
@@mfuzzy7422 How often are you doing field work? I try and go once a week or at least three times a month. It's very hard to get an accurate representation of the flight characteristics of a disc just on the course. Especially when one is beating in a discs or skill level and or form has improved.
@@ericdunthorne1981 i play an 18 hole par 2 on my buddy's prop 2-3 times a week for practice. longest hole is 220. this makes it very easy to evaluate a disc after 3 or 4 rounds. plenty of different shots, elevations, and approach distances that are locked in with my mainstays. best practice ever, lots of trees to hit. we even have custom stamped buzzz's and roc3's that we give away for aces. it's private, so you gotta know sumbuddy, but most who play use 2 mids or a mid and something close to a teebird because the shapes you gotta make, oh, and it's a 2 disc limit. probably why i dropped the putter. been putting a mid there for years
Does anyone else cringe a little when he bends the discs like that?
Nahhh. I wanna know if it’s bendy
Cough...Mako3...Cough
Yeah definitely going to compare those!
It would be, if they released a ordinary medium priced MD1 … the reason it wouldnt become numero uno would be price and price only… the Origin Neo/Geo is around 10 $. That beeing said ive got my self 2 Benders from the local store and a 3rd Triumph series from the Discmaniastore 🥰 replacing my Hex and Origins 🫶 Simon FTW
I bet they will eventually make a stock release! And I'm not sure where you are buying your origins.. but they cost more than at wholesale pricing 😂
@@ApolloDiscGolf😀 ahh, my exchange from DKK to USD was outdated, I guess thats 14$ nowadays 😛
Been throwing the MBs for 2 rounds now... wooooow.... now im in a pedicament... midranges on the table atm ( from understable to stable): Paradox, Uplink, Midnight Prowl, Origin Geo, Origin Neo, MD1 15yr, Hex, MD1-MB, MD3, Iron Sam3, Method, Mutant... kindda only wanna bag 4, MAAAYBE 5 mids.... HEEEEEEELP 😀
@@anderschristianhaldpederse8472 Yeah for sure! I haven't thrown all of those discs. But it looks like the most overlap would be in everything before the MD3! Those can probably be narrowed down to 2 mids from those 8, maybe 3 mids. Then is there enough difference between the standard MD3 and the Iron Samurai for you? If the Iron Samurai is more overstable it honestly might be close enough to the Method that you can take that out as well and just have the Mutant, IS3, MD3, Origin and Uplink (or MD1 and Origin, depends on your preferences and game).
But if you don't mind having the smaller difference in flight that's fine too! It's all preference, some prefer to have every little detail in their bag and others, like me, like to have the general shots covered and make those work. So I only have 3 Buzzzes (Stable, Straight, Beat up), then a beat Roc3 for the flippier stuff and make those 4 work for me! I don't even have an OS mid in my bag because I just make my Zone and Teebirds/Firebird work if I have a "midrange" OS windy shot or something
