Best explanation of DAX filter on TH-cam, thank you Marco!

Best content I have seen so far on Filter Context, Row Context and Context Transition. Though, I would look for more on Context transition to grab the concept.

I was searching for the same answers and eventually find the differences between calculated columns and new measure in terms of row context.thats great explanation 👌👌👌❤️

Thanks Marco! I learned an important nuance in this video: explicit filters override the implicit filter of the SAME column which leads to recurring results ONLY in case this filter context is used twice in a pivot table 41:47.

This is a fantastic video, in fact the concepts here are like the corner stone to understand and work the right way with DAX. I wish I had watched this video time ago, it would have saved me a lot of headaches. Thanks so much to Mr. Russo, awesome, and to MD for sharing!

Thank you so much, Marco for helping us understand the basics of filtering which are crucial for a strong and simple data modeling.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I always feel confused about these filters, contexts thing in DAX. Now it is clear!

Is there any page in internet which lists all operations which are the same - as SUM and SUMX described here?

    Hi there,
I need your help. I add 2 slider to my PowerBI visual, but it just could be displayed if the number of participants is bigger then 3. How could I apply this condition to my sliders? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the tutorial. Could you also share the power point?

Marco - I build a lot of tabular models in SSAS and we have a team that builds out Power BI reports consuming these tabular models. Often due to time constraints or for experimentation we want the power bi developers to build their own measures in power bi effectively sub classing the underlying measures in the TM. Usually this method works fine but because of the implicit CALCULATE wrapped around all measures sometimes the report developer can't do this and they have to go back to first principles and completely author the measure from scratch and can't simply tweak/ modify / subclass the original TM measure. This is annoying . Is there anyway to remove context transition (I suspect not) or is there any plans to extend DAX in the future to allow this happen? Context transition is useful but I keep finding example of where I would like it not to happen .
