STUDIO SCALE ALIEN ATTACK FIGHTER BUILD part 1

Welcome back to another build of an iconic miniature filming replica. This ALIEN ATTACK SHIP is actually cast from the same moulds as the original miniature used in the movie. It's a bit of a rebuild, as this model came to me second hand with some issues. Join me as i work through the jobs needed to turn this casting into something more beautiful.

Hi Andy. I absolutely admire your patience and dedication. This looks like the model equivalent of restoring a rusted and rotted shell of a classic car. I think for me that would be a "Nope!". It is lucky that there are people such as yourself with the attitude and skillset to take such a mess in their stride 👍

I was thinking the same thing as i was doing it. Took me back to my old mini restoration in my youth. Almost as grubby with a bit less rust on this. :-) Thanks for checking it out.

Hey Andy, incredible inspiring to see how you tackle this build. Thank you so much for sharing your progress. BTW, can you tell us something about the awesome Aliens dropship in the background?

HI there. The 3d printed dropship in the background has come to me for some reinforcement to the opening gun arms and the fuselage, as it deconstructed itself whilst on display and made a bit of a mess. So i have designed a new armature to hold the wings nice and solid. There are some major reworkings to come. I will likely do another video on this once the parts are ready for fitting. Thanks for checking it out :-).

the two halve seam is terrible to do, but It's a fun paint job,

There are three tunes on there which i made. Im trying to get away from those copyright issues which seem to kill everyone nowadays. Im glad you liked it / them :-). Maybe i should post a music only vid with some visuals. Thanks for checking it out Craig. :-)
