This reminds me when we went on a family vacation to San Francisco when I was a kid and the Asian family next to our hotel turned the front part of their house into a restaurant in the evening. They turned their living room into a dining room and the "cashier" was a register that was on a TV tray in the front hall coat closet.

There's like 5 tables in the backyard and they only have one entree and one dessert, but it's cheap and delicious. They don't have signs outside the house so you have no idea they run a restaurant so they depend on word of mouth.
This is SPOT ON! I lived with a lady that was Cuban and her Mom acted EXACTLY LIKE THIS! THANK YOU FOR PUTTING A SMILE ON MY FACE. My friend died in 2010 and her Mom(I called her Abuela too) she died in 2017. May they both rest in peace
