    Thanks for the video, have a quick question: to update products with custom attributes from a file, do attributes have to exist first?

      According to the Woo docs, any non existing meta data will be ignored by default. I have not tested this yet, but it looks like it must exist first

    Hey man. So my products load but with no information or images. At the mapping stage, it does not show all the different mapping heading. It just shows me one with the 1st row of the csv file. Do you know if there is a common mistake that i may have made. I filled in a woocomerce template similar to what you using. After filling innthe colomns, i hit save as csv and then uploaded. Not sure if i have missed something. Can you help?

      Some common issues with importing are related to the format of the csv file. I don't use Excel anymore and instead use Numbers on a Mac. Any empty columns to the right of your header or rows below your final data can cause a lot of problems with csv files. If it can't map the headers, it's most likely a csv format issue.

      @@chimneyrocksoftware thanks. I will try using numbers as well and see how that goes. I do have a few empty columns, they have headings but no data so guess i should just take those out then. Thanks. I will play around with it and hopefully come right. Lol.

      Also make sure the very top row is not empty. It must have the headers only there.

      This has been driving me insane aswell. Thanks for the tip about using Numbers, I'll give it a try.

    When I import my csv, I end up with 100s of new products that got created. What did I do? I did not use product ID, only SKU and Name, Stock and Backorder.

    • @chimneyrocksoftware
      @chimneyrocksoftware  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to identify the product first, so you must include either the SKU or the Product id and the column must be mapped to Product Id or Sku as well. Next, you must tick the checkbox "Update Existing Products" To test that you have met the requirements, try updating a single product with a small change. If correct, then move on to more products.

    Hi! Fantastic video.

    Sir if we add 2000 products then will their images not make the website heavy?

    • @chimneyrocksoftware
      @chimneyrocksoftware  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, each image increases the amount of disk space you are using.

      @@chimneyrocksoftware so,sir is there any solution to add multiple products without making my website heavy?? Please tell me sir

    • @chimneyrocksoftware
      @chimneyrocksoftware  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best practice is to use the right sized images. If you upload full sized images without any management, then it takes up too much space and slows down the page load. Upload images about 900 px wide maximum and it won't slow down the site too much or take up a lot of space.

      @@chimneyrocksoftware sir, can we use embedded images?? I mean can we use images of products from Google drive or any other external storage, to not make my website heavy??

    Hi man, I am struggling a bit with importing. When I add the CSV file and am at the part where woocommerce matches the fields it says id:bla:bla:bla so it does not match. What am I doing wrong?

    • @chimneyrocksoftware
      @chimneyrocksoftware  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I just tried this today to test. The csv file has these headers, ID SKU Name Stock Meta: _barcode Meta: _cost. Upon importing, all match except custom meta. The _barcode and _cost just need to be imported as custom meta. If it's failing right at the beginning at ID, then you probably have an extra empty row at the top. CSV files must be formatted correctly or the whole thing will fail. Make sure row 1 has your headers.

      @@chimneyrocksoftware Thank you so much for your response. In the meantime I fixed it by using the WP all import plugin but thanks for taking your time! +1 sub

    Hi
    I have 1500 products (simple and variable) and I want to upload them to the WooCommerce store via the products upload form (CSV In Bulk) and I want to add product images in the sheet (meaning uploading products with their pictures through the product upload form)
    1- I would like to know how to link product images to the sheet and how to upload all products at once?
    2- What are the best free or paid plugins needed to build a large and professional store?

    • @chimneyrocksoftware
      @chimneyrocksoftware  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In order to upload images, you need the url to the image in your uploads folder. Under the column Images each url must be separated by a column.
      yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/cap-2.jpg,yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/cap-2.jpg
      Regarding plugins, it depends on how you want to customize your store

    • @chimneyrocksoftware

      Use the column "Images" and include it as a link such as this localhost/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Screen-Shot-2020-07-29-at-10.51.50-AM.png

    • @chimneyrocksoftware

      On the images column, simply separate multiple images with a comma like this localhost/wp3/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/hoodie_3_front.jpg, localhost/wp3/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/hoodie_3_back.jpg, localhost/wp3/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/T_5_back.jpg, localhost/wp3/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/T_5_front.jpg, localhost/wp3/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/T_6_back.jpg

    how do you import with products attributes

    • @chimneyrocksoftware
      @chimneyrocksoftware  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a lot of attribute headers but the basic concept would be Attribute 1 name Attribute 1 value(s) for the headers and Color Black, Green for the values. It's a lot easier to export some products and use that as a template to import
