Finally, my favorite episode of the season. So much got resolved, whether through combat against a nemesis or one’s own doubts. Also, Kiki unlocking her earth elemental form was amazing. We didn’t even get that in the stream, though it WAS pre-stream. And it helped Kiki to rediscover and reforge her bonds with Vox Machina. And it was so good that they chose to follow her unfailingly into the final confrontation with the Deceiver. Also, how bold of Keyleth. She just up and confessed in front of everyone. I consider that kiss between her and Vax to be their best one this season. For several reasons: 1. It was fresh out of her ritual. 2. It was in her hometown of Zephrah. 3. It left Vax speechless. And thankfully, Vex refused to show Ripley mercy. She gave her the death she deserved. And finally, Scanlan and Kaylie connected.
Love that you guys dropped the actual play clip in. That was the first thing I thought of during that scene, Laura saying “and one in her mouth as she screams”
15:54 In relation to your point about the Whispered One: Really the only connection is that Raishan wanted to become a (draco)lich, just like the Whispered One.
I think the issue with Ripley's demise in the campaign, it was like entering a butcher's shop for the party; it got a little too ultra gore for me, lol. In the show's version its more focused on Vex's moment to avenge Percy, which I like, since his death decimated her the most. Also, I like how Keyleth's ritual there peaked on some unusual cultists.
In the game you receive new spells and it's usually not played out. In the series they chose to show how a spell is truly earned and the looks of it for that person. Super cool, as a DM, I believe I'll have the players act out how they received the spell if there is time.
Spoilers for C1: What Raishan accomplished here is, I believe, very close to what she was initially trying to do in the campaign. If I'm remembering what Matt had said correctly, if not this exact scenario of inhabiting his corpse, she was at least attempting to revive Thordak as a Dracolich that would act as her puppet. It's one or the other, but I'm spacing on which specifically. There was also more to that, but I think that's best saved for the video on the finale.
I believe Matt said she was going to use a super version of Speak with Dead. The regular SwD does not compel the spirit to speak the truth. Raishan's version was going to be a combination of SwD, Zone of Truth, plus some form of pain/damage to force the spirit to answer and answer truthfully. I don't think it was going to be an official spell from any handbook, just a custom thing to advance the plot. Matt talked about it in either the main campaign wrap up or the smaller second wrap up they did a few weeks after(neither of which are available online anymore because BWF).
I actually preffer the battle in this? But mostly bc i just like Ripley. I don't like how they all gang up on her in the original 😂😂 but ya kno,, Taste
You guys are the greatest couple on TH-cam i give it two thumbs up on your channel will you plz react to super sentai all henshin and roll call plz thats my special request ❤❤❤❤❤❤

8:47 Liam voiced Nightcrawler in Wolverine and the X-Men, fyi. 😁

I totally get you on Ripley's death, it was SO satisfying when everyone got a hit on her lol but I don't mind how they did it here

i can you can do it like a recent MCU movie, but I don't thinik the emotional payoff is as immense in CR so I appreciate the angle here
“It doesn’t seem like any of the do” (have plot armour)
We all know that Vox Machina are basically gods🐠 😉😜🤣
So much for Keyleth's Earth Trial for the Aramente.

The Titanic joke was EPIC.

I always thought it was “Won’t tell me, die and I’ll speak with dead your corpse.”

I literally JUST GOT the "I know something you don't line" Vax says to Ripley... it's that Vex can hold her breath for a loooong time.....
She could date a Ninja Turtle, for sure.
