    1. I love it when the cheapest thing wins the comparison.
    2. I am quite happy with my Lamy and Kaweco nibs. Some day maybe I'll get a Sailor.

I do not own a Koloro, but I do possess an Opus 88 Striped Mini, with a nib. Since the nibs on Opus products are, for the most part, interchangeable, I feel I'm comparing the same nibs here. And I love it. I agree with your outcome, and for similar reasons that you mentioned. I'd be interested to see comparisons with other brands as well (maybe TWSBI?), and then maybe come up with a "Grand Champion," as it were. Thanks for a helpful video.

I've got a video comparing three Taiwanese pens here - th-cam.com/video/JH2zAE31xNU/w-d-xo.html

Broad nibs have always been my most preferred among the standard nibs. I have several favorites. But I reckon my absolute favorite broad nibs are on these pens of mine: Sheaffer Legacy I (18k), Sheaffer PFM V (14k), Lamy 2000 (14k) Sailor KoP (21k) Stipula Etruria (14k) Pilot Custom Urushi (18k)

Nicely done with great detail. I have the Opus 88 mini B nib. It feels a little springy to me as I write. Very enjoyable. My experience with the Pilot Custom 823 B nib is a pleasurable one. Originally I tried Noodlers Kiowa Pecan ink. It had beautiful shading but a long drying time on Tomoe River paper so I switched to Diamine Writers Blood upon re-inking. I’m enjoying this ink much better. Thanks for the education. 🖋❤️

I like the idea of Writers Blood in one of these. I may have to try that next year

I was very much looking forward to the Broad Nib Comparison finale, well done, and you logically explained why you chose the winner. Thank you, it was an enjoyable process. Are you thinking about doing this for fine and/or medium nibs?

I have added those to my list of future videos. Hopefully, I will be able to do it sometime in the first half of next year.

I have Vazir flat top black fountain pen in broad nib and really love the juicy nib and the classic design and black look of the pen....

Appreciate the comparison Garry. I've been looking at a Pilot Broad nib, but am always wary of any nibs that have a broader downstroke than cross stroke. So I only like either monoline or tending towards architect type nibs. The Pilot #15 B might work though.

I don't know if it was the ink, but the Pilot nib seems a bit narrower. That it was thinner is understandable as Pilot nibs and nibs from Japan tend to be narrower line width.
I was a bit surprised that the Opus 88 was the winner. I thought perhaps the Diplomat would have won. But Jowo nibs tend to be a bit stiff unless you purchase their flex version. Then, the variation, bounce and spring of the nib is very apparent.
I do wish there was a standard for line widths. Every manufacturer has their own idea of what constitutes a broad or medium or any nib width. It makes comparisons somewhat difficult.
I wonder who manufactures Opus 88 nibs. Are they done in house?
In any case, this was an excellent series of nib comparisons, Garry.

I do like both of them, but I just love the amount of ink the Opus 88 can hold compared to the small convertor in the Diplomat.
